I dont think this would help the processes problem, but try downloading ccleaner and run their registry fixer. Sometimes invalid registry entries can be a real pain during startupp and shutdown

In english "going to hit the hay"--> going to sleep "blow chunks"--> vomit "kicked the bucket" and "pushing daisies" both mean someone died

How goes progression with the current runs.
It is going very nicely. A lot of hexing is needed to be done but a lot of progress has been made. Sadly, a WIP won't be able to be seen until all hexing is completed
So the pause stuff can be hexed out and fixed?

Alright, I think I'm going to write a patched Mupen64 for Windows that fixes the pause bug, but someone will have to compile it. Does this work for you guys? (This will not be Mupen64Plus)
Is there a link to this mythical mupen64 build?
Well at least the source so we can attempt to compile it

Does getting navi to talk require an amount of time to pass, or is it luck manipulable?
What? Dude, that was not a question that RuleZ. I don't think you can manipulate anything out of Navi, but your question is of poor English and is not understood. At all.
I had a harder time understanding that statement then Brian's question. Anyway, mostly I think its a timer but it might be affected by things such as finishing dungeons, fighting bosses and whatnot since usually navi does not start trying to tell you to go somewhere while you are fighting a boss

Just out of curiousity, does the fix correct the problem of the background of the pause screen always being either link's house or the store? Also a couple of questions about bloobiebla's run, 1) In the spirit temple, why do you backwalk to the small key chest instead of sidehopping? 2)Also in the spirit temple, when you do the sideways megabackflip to get back over the gap, it moves you away from the door. If you instead did a backwards megasidehop, it would move you closer to the door saving some frames. Is this oversight, or was there some reason behind this?

That video doesn't show how to escape the forest from the initial side...it doesn't show how to get into the "circle" with the other kokiri...still waiting on a video/description of how to actually do it...
The author of the video didnt elaborate on how he clipped into the circle sadly. Hasnt responded to attempts to contact him either

Well I made a high-resolution texture, lower bitrate version of Swordless Link's 16 Star run for anyone who wants it. The audio/video stays in sync for people with slower computers as well 640x480 84mb

Sorry SL & AKA, you might have to restart you TAS again. A most likely faster method of escaping the forest has been found.
I think they already might because of Mupen64

About the run, I thought that since Mupen64 will not be finished for a while, the current run should be obsoleted, so that people can get a little familiar with the current route that TASers will be using and what RBA is. THEN AGAIN, this movie is kind of bad, and there is a much better demonstration movie posted on youtube which was made by groobo. Therefore I voted No Also For anyone looking for information on RBA, this is the archive of information on it that most speedrunners (at least over at SDA) swear by http://cosmo.dreamhosters.com/RBA.html

in that case it would probably be good to have a lower quality version, I wouldnt mind doing the honors

Rice's Video plugin can also dump hi-rez textures and then load them back up. My OoT encodes use these, and I think they work pretty well

Is there a reason you do not use the TAS input plugin? Id think, but really have no knowledge since i havent done much TASing, that it would help you make your movements more precise

Who knows how many glitches can be found, by the .m64 the game seems pretty entertaining. The only problems i see would be the annoyingly long and stupid impacto scenes, and lack of good quality emulation which Mupen64 will hopefully fix

The Beloro of Fire cut scene was obviously skipped, but I don't think any other cut scenes that I will be activating after that are skip-able.
Does that mean you will be getting the serenade and nocturne? because those are skippable since I thought you werent doing ice cavern/well EDIT: whoops i misread that

But I know that nintendo programmers like to use single varaibles with cases when they can... For example, we know for a fact that in OoT, the different gauntlets/bracelets are stored in one variable. Getting the second or third will let you do what the first would let you do even if you skipepd it. But while Raiscan is probably right with the 3 cases, maybe beating BitFS sets gotKeys to 2 directly and doesn't just increment it. Meh.
I agree, there are many instances when OoT programmers have shown their oversight on certain programming issues, (only need two medallions, silver guantlet subsitutes goron bracelet). What should make Mario 64 which was programed earlier any different? Id be happy to find the address if anyone really wants to know

I dont mind encoding it, the only problem is that since ive never done an official encoding for this site, I dont know who to submit it to. Well I'll get to encoding it, and let me know what to do with it ASAP.

Ive never officially submitted an avi to the site before so I dont know how to go about asking, but can I encode the run? Ive done unofficial avis for wips in the N64 section in addition to other personal projects, and Ive read the encoder guidelines so I know what I am doing, I just dont know who to ask or who to submit it to. Edit: Yes vote definitely

awsome TAS. This will be a great addition to the N64 list when its done. I always thought that this and banjo-tooie would be nice additions, but Im not anywhere near skilled enough

Sidehopping as YL is MARGINALY faster than backwalking. Where as backwalking as AL is MUCH faster than sidehopping.
Actually while the maximum speed of sidehopping is only Marginally greater than the maximum speed of backwalking as YL, backwalking has a delay of 4 triads in which link's speed is 0, followed by a speed of 2.25 for 1 triad, 4.5 for 1 triad, 6.75 for 1 triad, 9 for 1 triad, 11.25 for 1 triad, and then finally reaches maximum speed. It takes link 9 triads or 27 frames to reach maximum speed during backwalking, while sidehopping reaches maximum speed in 7-10 frames. This means in 10 triads, or 30 frames, backwalking would move link 46.125 units, while sidehopping on flat ground would move link ~87.75 units. Thats almost twice as fast, and even uphill, the slowest form of sidehopping, would still be significantly faster than backwalking And as an adult I just discovered everything is the same except the max speed of backwalking is 13.5. So actually sidehopping is faster than backwalking as an adult for exactly 24 triads or 72 frames and a distance of 614.25 units. After that backwalking is faster than sidehopping.
