If you want, but if its not going to be that optimized anyway, theres not much point to it and you should go with w/e your instinct tells you or w/e you think will make teh run look nicer

Actually it would still probably be faster to use the Goron Warp when coming back with the odd mushroom, and then using the goron warp to go up teh mountain after getting poachers saw.

It isn't that good of quality since when I started I knew it wouldn't be being submitted. Probably what you would consider a test run, maybe it is slightly better quality. If SL and or AKA wouldn't care I could post a M64 if you were curious. Just know I wasn't trying to be 100% optimal just making it for fun. Also can anyone answer this for me I really want to know. Coming from the lost woods is it faster to glitch on to the bridge (megaflip or hookshot) and Superslide to kakariko. Or is it faster to go through the goron warp and get to the top using hookshot and come into kakariko?
I havent timed them but i think that Goron City would be faster to get back, while going through hyrule field is faster to get to kokiri. If only because in a speed run you wouldn't have enough bombs to use that many megaflips/superslides.

How will the bridge be gotten over in the TAS using DOT skip since you can't pull out a deku stick to do ISG to do Acryte's skip. I was thinking 1. Glitch for Epona 2. Re steal rod (please say this isn't the one) 3. Find an angle you can megaflip over (I tried and couldn't) 4. Hookshot across without needing ISG (might be possible since it is TAS I couldn't get it but I didn't try long) If you have any other ways let me know.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqkLX2_pjUg This could definitely help get into shadow early as an adult faster than the current methods if you used 1 bomb to superslide rather than manipulating the poe

Rice's Plugin should work. Are you using a mempak because i forgot that and it messed me up before. Also you sidehop through the lava at somepoints...why doesnt the cutscene activate then?

I was talking about the cutscene that activates whenever you are near lava. Where navi tells you that there is alot of lava even though its completely obvious

I must say that this WIP's amazingness melted my face... it would be a crime if the run was rejected If the rest of the run is even half as entertaining(which I doubt seeing as how I love the adult dungeons) it will still be the most entertaining TAS id have ever watched Also the bombchu/bomb usage is so greatly planned, i dont think there rlly is any route improvements thus far EDIT: One question though, did the continuous sidehopping stop you from having to listen to the cutscene in DC, or was it something else?

Does pulling out the deku stick while an adult freeze mupen? I know it freezes N64 but not gamecube, but if mupen emulates N64 then you mite run into problems at that part of the run

Probably wouldnt have explosives at this point anyway, and the time it would take to bomb hover that much would make it faster to use the cucco

I have a question. When collecting the cuccos is there a way to get over (or through) the fence near the windmill to get the two back there without soaring over with a cucco or do you have to use a cucco? Thanks
Currently as a child no1 has found a way, but it could be possible... who knows

Maybe someone should ask acryte for confirmation that the DC superslide can be done without dying... Also there is no way to RBA anything on the Quest Screen except a heart piece when you are a child because you need adult trading items to do it. (the only one you can get is an odd mushroom from the gerudo valley chest)

If you are referring to me, the extra bombchu is needed in the Forest Temple as adult Link to do the boss key skip, so no. That's an awesome trick but i'm sure it only saves about 5 seconds, which is less than I could save by implementing that bombchu elsewhere. Thanks for the advice though
Could you instead use the strategy that SL used to clip into the wall in his child TAS or would that not work as an adult? Edit: I tried it and it doesnt...at least not for me wierd oh well I guess ill do with all the other glitches you will be doing in your run :) Oh and amazing WIP loved the desert/spirit temple section

You can only do that as an adult

True but think how taxing that would be on the runner... Im sure expert runners could create a 100% run if they tried, but its doubtful that any1 would be willing to make a near 6 hour tas
Well, someone already did try to make a 100% run of OoT. And succeeded, I might add. http://speeddemosarchive.com/demo.pl?ZeldaOoT_100p_635 Still, though, I'm sure someone will take up a 100% TAS of this game eventually, just as someone eventually did the 100% speedrun.
Ive watched Yautja's run and loved it, but rlly that in itself would take a great amount of effort. Now to do that with inhuman precision would be a nightmare. Plus the constant lookout for desyncs. Im sure someday someone may come and step up to the challenge of this monster run, but until then this is a TAS many people will most likely avoid

I agree. IMO, the most entertaining run would be one that completes all dungeons, without collecting all heart pieces and skulltula tokens. There should be three categories: DoT skip/BA, non DoT skip/BA, 100%.

Yes thats how i feel, TASes are meant to be entertaining, and dungeons show off many awsome glitches in close proximity. After seeing SL's Deku Tree TAS i rlly think he should pursue a non BA run. In my opinion BA runs will have the awsome DoT skip and amazing for people who have never seen BA b4, but will end up being boring overall since they will be mostly just going through the trading sequence/catching things with bottles in addition to the occasional glitch.

hey AKA do you know if SL is going to finish his TAS now, or is he going to start an BA TAS? Personally I think the dungeon TASes would provide more entertainment, but idk if that would be accepted because it is not the fastest way to do the game

Hot off the presses from SDA... This is for those of you who are curious about the route, but I am not too sure if a TAS runner will deviate from this seeing as how you currently cannot get back past the DoT without save warping. -Get sword and shield -Escape the forest -Get Kakariko Cucco bottle -Go to Lake Hylia, get bottled bugs and set Scarecrow song with Ocarina Items glitch -DoT skip -Something to get past the DoT as an adult??? -Get hylian shield, hookshot, and pocket egg -Go to lake hylia, renew scarecrow song and use it to steal the rod/get deku sticks on B -By then the pocket cucco should hatch, use it to RBA black guantlets into your inventory -Get Cojiro and head to DC -Go through DC up to bombs and then RBA with cojiro for a quiver -Head toward goron city -use the lost woods warp to get to the guy and get odd mushroom -Go back to goron city, to kakariko and get the odd potion -trade the odd potion for poachers saw and RBA to get songs -head to the top of death mountain and get magic -use prelude to warp to ToT and reequip sword -steal epona -get the broken gorons sword and head to lake hylia to steal the rod again -RBA for medallions and warp to the ToT to get light arrows -Do the ganon trials skip glitch and head up the tower to kill him Credits for this route go to ZFG for the basic skeleton and the child section, me for thinking up most the adult section, and ZAR for putting the two together. Of course none of this would be possible without the DoT skip which came from the efforts of Samoht, Kazooie, and AKA so thank you to them. :)
