Your profile doesn't have an e-mail listed, and the in-forum e-mail system doesn't allow attachments. Since I was going to be uploading it to somewhere else anyways, I added some savestates and zipped it. Ironically, the resulting zip is less than 2 MB. Oh well. Here's the link: http://www.sendspace.com/file/5kib9z State 1: Mt. Eerie and Twilight Hill State 2: Koopa Woods State 3: Frosty Cave and Plateau Lake State 4: Swampy Plains State 5: Lava Lake, and getting old exits requiring capes State 6: Whomp's Fortress and Dino Valley State 7: Passage of Mystery State 8: Bowser's Domain and Star City

I've finished the video walkthrough, sooner than I expected. However, it's over 2 megabytes (just barely), so I can't use microstorage. Anyone know where I could upload it?

In the middle of Whomp's Fort now. I know it's not the end of a world, but I'll post a WIP anyways, because I don't intend to work on it more tonight. The exits are a bit jumbled, and there's a few places I don't take the most efficient route (or just get lost and don't have a handy savestate) but whatever. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/3764/Super%20Challenge%20World.smv

I'm tentatively doing a video walkthrough of this, but don't hold your breath for it. I currently haven't passed Chef Stef's speedrun, so I won't bother posting a WIP of it.

It does raise some issues though. I think most people will agree an old run shouldn't be obseleted just because the new run uses a different ROM without any strategy change. However, it would be difficult to tell whether a strategy change on the new ROM is faster due to the change in strategy, or solely due to the PAL version. If someone can figure out how to measure that, then I see no issue, but otherwise...

I didn't realize you were TASing while in Italy. I'll watch this next chance mI have, and post comments then. Based on your comments, you seemed pretty thorough, though.

I suck too much to actually make such a movie, but I remember quite a few of the solutions, and can communicate them, and/or ask the creator when I can't remember.

Hi, I'm the creator of Super Challenge World. I hear people are having trouble with the secret exits to Frosty Cave 5 and Whomp's Fort 3. Here are some hints: Frosty Cave 5: Try looking in the area with the rising and falling lava. 2nd layer stuff is fun! Whomp's Fort 3: Go into the pipe on the side of the tower that leads to the room with a run-up-the-wall-triangle-thingy. Think very, very carefully about the paradox in this room. Dino Island 1 can be accessed by completing Fort House. This house makes use of a seemingly useless property. Thanks for playing my hack!

Yay, my friend designed this hack. I'm glad to see it's getting a following. I can't remember the solutions to any of the levels you mentioned, but I'll be sure to send him here next time I see him.

I personally feel that the "point" of a 70 star run is that it shouldn't be glitched--in other words, you don't glitch past any doors. If you do glitch past them, the restriction to 70 stars is arbitrary and could just as easily be 30 or 50, or some other random number.

It was rather amusing to see you skip Wallace's promotion. Too bad it isn't possible on a real GBA...

I am saddened to say that unless some people here can do some serious convincing, I am dropping this run, partly due to lack of interest, and partly because I don't feel that what I've done so far meets the standards of this site, and don't really want to redo what I have so far. I feel that I didn't have enough foresight regarding items I'd need, and characters I'd use. Plus I'm starting to think that I should have been using staff users from the beginning, in order to have warp staff usage by chapter 16, which is basically impossible where I am now. Even if the people here do convince me to pick this up again, I'd likely start over, and spend more time planning. I basically went into this run blind, which is never a good idea. EDIT: Plus, I don't really feel like I really did enough RNG abuse. Nitrodon's FE7 run appears to waste hundreds of RNs on a regular basis, whereas I usually gave up around 20 unless I really needed the critical.

You might have alreayd corrected this, but your Rematch with Koopa the quick has been beaten on a console. The trick is to longjump onto the Shy Guy hovering over the beach and land near the goal. See a video of it here. EDIT: This wouldn't speed up the star, since you have to wait for koopa, but it'd be nice to set a record for the fastest time displayed, wouldn't it? EDIT2: Someone replied before I got a chance to edit...

Ah, I see. I did frameskip through most of Lyn's route, so I didn't notice.

Why can't this run be submitted? It seems fine to me. I haven't noticed any mistakes.

Very nice. Victory or Death will probably be fairly easy to optimize, what with a warp staff and flyers. Light will be a pain, probably. You can't really rely on just plowing through those enemies like you can with normal ones...good luck on that, at any rate.

You can with glitches.

It *might* be faster to get Dratini through the game corner. It depends how quickly you can get coins with luck abuse.

But don't you need to beat all four dungeons for the oath to order to have any effect? I haven't actually tried after just beating windfall, but.. I mean, it's easily possible to get up the tower non-glitchily without beating any dungeons: you do it in the first cycle. So they must have a check for dungeon beating.

I recall needing to become a pumpkin to activate a neccesary switch somewhere in Grunty's lair. Don't quote me on this, though.

Next two chapters done here. I picked up the barrier staff in order to more efficiently spam Saleh to A rank staves in time to use the warp staff. I'm fairly certain both chapters are optimal.

We already have a glitchy run. We don't need another. Just do this one without any warp glitches.

Then why did you pick Torchic? I'm not very familiar with the details of this game, but if Torchic is as bad as you say, you seem to be shooting yourself in the foot.

I've recently been inspired, and have started again early. I just finished chapter 11, here. I'm not at all confident that this is optimal. Suggestions are welcome.
