I would have loved to re-coded Mario's movement before I released the game, as I understand it looks a little unweildy at first. Unfortunately, the program I use to make it (Multimedia Fusion) is extremely picky about things like that. Each level in the game has it's own self-contained code that it runs on. If I change the code in one level, I have to go through and change the code for every single level in the game, seperately. Add to the fact that copying and pasting large amounts of data like that in a project that's around two years old causes MMF to crash and/or corrupt data, and, well, you can see why I won't. Doing something like that would take a good four or five months minimum; at least a month or more to design the new physics, and then three or four months to implement them all properly. And frankly? I've washed my hands of the game. It's released, finally, after a much, much longer than anticipated development time and I'm glad it's out there. People overall seemed to like it (60000+ downloads speak for themselves, I believe). I understand the complaints some have, but fixing them would really be more work than it's worth, as what you are suggesting is much like re-writing the entire game from the ground up. I'm sorry, I've moved on to other projects now (which have been coded far, far more tightly than MarioWeen was): http://blazefire.mooglecavern.com/shadowdemo_16.exe http://blazefire.mooglecavern.com/dk.rar

Im not going to sign up because i dont have much time to dedicate ;_; but i would like to left a vote for now: console: N64 (since there are more games to be explored) Also, whats if the selected game has any strange bug? like nes tiny toons' and left+right snes smb3? furthermore, i think some particular rules to the TAS should be made to avoid problems o.o

megaman, dont release something slower than someone's WIP or submission.. i.i I've compared somethings to you: Your 2nd flag touch: 3921 frames Sami's 2nd flag touch: 3574 frames Difference: 347 frames Your 1st level finish, fade to black: 6247 frames Sami's 1st level finish, fade to black: 4771 frames Difference: 1476 frames this is _alot_ for only the first level.. i think ppl here is not interested in looking for something slower than someone's WIP, keep this in mind please i.i

anyway.. death in toad's house or in a pipe could take much time, since you need to go back and forth several times to get the P-speed, right? i.i

but.. if you do this, will be only for fun, right? because i really dont think it will be accepted.. since this is not a very known game, imho 2 speedruns (fastest and best ending fastest) is more than a limit

to continue that? why? is it really needed? do you think that there's any good consequence to this? seriously, i vote for close topic.. seems that even if we forget it now, someone will ever put this discussion back, which is not giving to us anything interesting

i think all those concept demos and TAS should be submitted to the website, and then create a new section to 'mario games' *-*
