First TI-83, now this... Um, ok... Gee, I can't wait for my brand new Vectrex core soon! (This is both a goof and a hopeful wish lel.)
Uzebox huh..? Err... meh vote, kinda boring and not really entertaining to me.
I know I'm very late for this but...
The movie should stay branchless. The movie isn't super duper short enough to guarantee a "warp glitch" branch, or at least that's what I think anyway.
WELP!!!
Nintendo just announced the SNES Classic Edition which is coming out in September. It includes 20 games + a game that NOBODY was expecting... STAR FOX 2 MY DUDES... FRICKIN STAR FOX 2 is getting an official release after 20 something years!!! That's so insane...
So, I guess they're releasing the full, completed version of the game which is definitely somehow going to get dumped.
So... I think that means someone could make a new TAS of the official release whenever the thing comes out. Though I have no idea of any improvements myself.
It's a Sonic fan-game using the Doom engine, and it looks pretty cool.
I was browsing YouTube like how I do everyday and stumbled upon this:

It's a TAS of the game! I guess it uses the same tools as the regular Doom TASes, but I thought it was cool to show because of how different it is.

This beats W3-1 really fast by using the glitch I mentioned sometime ago in the thread.
This glitch lets you use the bubblegum item in any level, even levels where you can't even get the item by normal means (like the level shown in the video). The bubblegum lets you fly anywhere in the level, and if you get hit by a wall, ceiling, floor or an enemy, you'll lose the item.
Quick demonstration:

You perform the glitch when the level is loading, while you hold the touch screen at the place where you select the item, and you change the coordinates a little bit. Do it at the right frame while standing still and release the touch inputs. This glitch has been verified on console.
As you can see in the video, it saves tons of time on levels where you have to climb up to the top of the stage to reach the goal. It also saves time on stages where using the bubblegum is required, since you don't have to use the vending machines and slow down.
One last thing. I didn't mention the cola item, because when you do the glitch with said item, the game freezes... That's it.

Done the 2nd world. Had to slowdown on one of the last levels since the fire kills you, so I had to jump above the blocks instead.
I got the power-up during the last few frames of the boss fight before the screen fades in. It's faster to get it that way since you need to slowdown to get the power-up and after that you have to wait for the morphing animation during regular stages.
Spike running on BizHawk 1.13 with the latest nightly build of the core (at the time I took the screenshot):
Took about half a minute to even load the ROM, though...
If it helps, I used either Rice 6.1 or Nitsuja's plugin to take the new screenshot in Mupen, the same ones used for Mischief Makers. Just in case anyone is up to the task.
Don't we use death to save time often in runs anyway? :-P
OK. I have a couple of things to say regarding this movie.
First off, hello and welcome to TASVideos, we hope you enjoy your stay here. I really enjoyed this run quite a bit, and it's a great improvement over previous attempts from others.
However, there's one big concern I personally have with this run. It seems you used the English translation of this game, which I'm very iffy about.
The movie uses a glitch to move extremely quickly throughout the maps, but it seems that it only happens on the unofficial English version and not on the original Japanese version of the game. This is a major concern since it hasn't been confirmed that it works there anyway.
Also, according to the site's rules, unofficial translations of games are not allowed thus not being accepted by the judges.
All of this worries me because I really want to see a published run of this 14 year old game, but this one has a chance of being rejected (DON'T QUOTE ME ON THAT, there's no need for cancelation, just wait and see what happens), but in terms of me liking this, it's a well made movie that entertained me, thus I'm giving it a Yes vote.
Hopefully were going to see more from you. :-)
I don't know about you guys but I'm still waiting for a new Knuckles Chaotix run which can only be tased in gens. It's not that big of a deal... for now at least.
This isn't really a bug but I dunno where else to put this.
The Intellivision is not listed in the list of movies by platform, I guess someone forgot to add it on the list.
