It turns out that there's a high score list you can put your name in at the end of the game. Is there any name in particular that you want inputted in this list? The name can be up to six characters long. This is just for publishing purposes. edit: I just noticed your alternate input file, but perhaps you prefer a name other than "AAAAAA"? I can do that for you. Again, this is just for publishing purposes.

Just so you know, you really don't have to press A at the The End screen to go to the opening logos. You can just let the run end at that screen. Since removing that last input would only save around six seconds of input time, it's fine to leave that in for now. However, for future runs of this game, take that into account.

After discussing this with the judge of this submission, we've come to the conclusion to leave this submission without a branch name instead of "best ending" as it appears that extra work would have to be done in the previous matches to deliberately get the bad ending and the best ending matches are done fast enough that it's uncertain if sandbagging to get the bad ending is faster than the overall best ending run without testing.

Is there any additional content granted for playing badly? How much time is saved by playing badly compared to not playing badly? From how I see it, everything we see in this run is all the game has to offer.

Is the PAL version of the game the only one with the Bull or is there another NTSC version that has it?

Do you plan on doing a run with this with all the characters?

Curious, but would the usage of a trackball instead of a joystick in this game make moving the cursor much faster?

All it needs is an audio overlay from the captured video and it's perfect.

Link to video I finally managed to console verify this! It turns out the data rate was only too high for a short time when the code is first being loaded. So I increased the latches per command from 28 to 32 (with some minor fiddling to prevent buffer overruns) in that area, then returned it to default 28 for the rest of playback. With this tinkering and using my hacked SMB ROM that sets RAM for me, it worked out first try. Really amazing that this worked out, you have really mastered the NES OnehundredthCoin!
Is it possible for you to verify this again on camera?

Is it okay if I add extra input at the end that adds names to the high score screen? If so, what names do you think I should put?

I learned that you don't have to press anything for the post-credits scene to end; it just ends by itself with no further input. I did learn however that there is more stuff to be seen after the "Overall Record" screen, specifically the message that tells you that you unlocked the jukebox. Is it okay if I make a different extended input movie file that just lets the post-credits scene play out but adds input to go past the "Overall Record" screen after a period of time so the Jukebox message can be shown?

I think I can add something there. I won't ask for credit.

Is it okay if you could provide extra input for the credits stage? It's kind of silly for a TAS for the credits to run while the player does nothing but fall into the abyss multiple times.

If you wanted the movie file to be replaced, you could have asked a judge to do it for you by linking to the user file page for the replacement.

It would be nice to see a run that gets all the flags.

Is it necessary to collect all of the gifts in order to beat the game or can you beat it without collecting all of the gifts?

The rerecord count for this submission as given by the movie file is 193. That doesn't seem right. marzojr, Tuffcracker, do you two know what the actual rerecord count is? This is for publication purposes.

This tool also works. Command-line only, though. https://github.com/putnam/binmerge

I've used a BIN/CUE dump before to reencode some movies. I'm not sure what kind of problem you're having.

Would it be better if I set it to "Unknown"? Or do you want the rerecord count to be 1000?

I have came to an agreement with Tompa and Alyosha to add up the rerecord counts from their final files. The final rerecord count is 892. Can a judge replace the rerecord count?

I'm gonna assume the rerecord count is still unknown since the original file was missing one.

So for the rerecord count, Tompa's first file was 43 rerecords, then his next file was 832 rerecords, then Alyosha's first file was 8 rerecords, then his next file was 60 rerecords. I don't remember the rerecord count from Winslinator's original file, but I'm gonna guess the final input file had minimal to no input from him. What should the final rerecord count be? Tompa's and Alyosha's counts from their final files added up, or should it be set to "Unknown"?
