How important is picking the golfer with max accuracy? It seems like you could manipulate it to go where you want making driving more important. edit: yeah like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53Umvvz3gi8

I've played a bunch of these, the throw canceling here is neat but it doesn't make for a watchable run. meh from me, should have been an april 1st run.

yeah that's the updated version, I've always raged that the tas only did levels 1-4 beacuse it doesn't get hard until later. the version with all levels I've often seen called Syobon Action 2

That's why I said "any official production". If at least one official version of the game recognizes that button, then it's clear to be used, just like we often use a specific version of a console game because that version has favorable behavior.
so what are all the "official production" versions? I think you will find that is near imposable to determine.

2) If the software isn't modified (i.e. the "escape" input is recognized by the game code), then is the button made accessible in any official production of the game? If not, then that implies hardware modifications are needed to enable it.
It's not like there is a single hardware configuration the thing is designed to run on. It was common back in the day to just buy the chips and put it in an old cabinet rather then buy a whole new cab. cps1 was designed around the ability for the board to be able to run multiple games. If you image search final fight cabinet you are going to find a bunch of different designs.

the game really suffers beacuse the puzzles are terrible they really don't let you do anything cool I'm sure the little frame losses here and there bothered me a lot more then other people ( especially beacuse speed wasn't a goal )

edit: yeah I tested it out, a 39 shouldn't be that hard even in hard mode
Well, errror go destroy this game more... also question which character did you use?
yoshi, he has two moves that will 1 hit kill on counter hit, otherwise it puts them one light attack from death. It requires a lot of enemy manipulation, but isn't that hard.

Is this the fastest possible completion (given that that's the goal of the run)?
not even close, this game has 1 hit kill moves. Manipulating the opponent to get hit by them in hard mode wouldn't be trivial, but I'm sure it could be done. edit: yeah I tested it out, a 39 shouldn't be that hard even in hard mode

if this was done with speed as the primary goal then you should never knock the opponent down except as the last hit. It costs a second every time.

Honestly not that impressive do to how awesome the ss runs are. Run seems fine but it seems like there should be some tas only tricks

I liked it. The guy stuff was nice, a few of the rounds at the end seemed unnecessary but overall it was a good run.

actually I think this would work really well using skype. Just have both players run the same movie and tell each other there inputs. I'd be interested in trying a street fighter match that way.
did that ever happen? :P if you were to do such a match with SFIV, I’d be interested in watching it
no one responded to me about it. It would be too much trouble to do it without an emulator. I think having one person streaming the emulator, and the other person sending inputs frame by frame is all it would take. Wouldn't be quite tool assisted without savestates, but it would be interesting I think.

voted no The goals seem too arbitrary to me. You might as well say 100% is getting 99 of each item and maxing out the timer.

enjoyed watching the ttyrec, I'd keep in mind what you want the screen shot to be at this point. When you get some extra turns, setting up some ascii art might be cool.
