This is one of my personal favorite games, I've started working on it if anyone's interested http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmYc2XZk564

The re 3 run doesn't use a hacked game, you just need to have the resident evil cpu fix enabled under options. A different sound plug in might be worth trying. The crash bandicoot 2 run had a similar problem where the last cut-scene wouldn't play but changing the plug-in fixed it. If you switch sound plug-ins before that cut-scene will it load?

Whoa this game has more than one level, the first was so repetitive I figured it just repeated, I was entertained.

quick and dirty encode http://www.megaupload.com/?d=D088T735 Like a few of the other people the game didn't want to end after cortex Not sure what to do with the sfx problem, the aren't in the console like with the music from the punky skunk run. I didn't like this as much as the first one, it's probably because I never played this game but the bgm didn't seem as good and the levels seemed repetitive. Overall these games are harder then they look and that isn't a good thing for TASes.

just watched up to the point where you did the save file drawing and that was a big enough improvement to justify a yes vote.

I would be very surprised if you could make a better run then the currently published PC speedrun because of how awful the psx version is. a run was rejected on sda on the basis of how crappy the psx version is http://speeddemosarchive.com/forum/index.php/topic,9215.0.html

you can actually complete many of them before the fully appear on screen, so if done as fast as possible it's very boring to watch. It might be better for the parts that have a timer to beat them in the last possible frame. That way at least the viewer can tell what the goal is and it doesn't waste any time.

I like the idea of putting together a huge team and focusing on interesting solutions. The intro levels are going to be the same regardless and are proving harder to optimize then you might think.

I think most of the levels can be beaten with zero summoning, glitching the star out should only be low par in a few levels. forgot about the new item bonus it can be glitched by adding letters to the front of the word and it counts as a different word. fan, a fan and b fan all count as different words.

not repeating items seems like an arbitrary restriction. Not to mention it would make a game already impossible to optimize much much harder. Just the planing for such a run would take decades. Idk about a pure speedrun, every level would look the same.

I had that problem with msx, I found that not pausing the game then letting the move play for a few sec then loading the save state let it play for a few sec, then pause and reload seemed to sove the problem.

normally the game will stop you and give you messages at several points but if you tell Maxwell to get an item he will still move when messages pop up.

I went ahead and started this but I'll probably get board before I finish Just the first three trial levels for now, found a small exploit that makes it slightly less boring. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7973K8OC

just because a game isn't 100% optimized shouldn't disqualify it for publication. For example the old mm2 or smb3 runs where dam good and certainly good enough for publication, it's just not as good as the current runs. As for improvements I did a 2 player of the first level so I know you can get off the parachute earlier. Also some weapons shoot faster crouched, idk if this would have made the second boss quicker. But unless you notice it and it looks sloppy to you I don't see why it would factor in to the entertainment value.

synced for me. I actually think 2 player would be faster overall but it would be more then twice as hard to optimize. Anyway this one is good enough for me. I suppose I could do an encode of it beacuse others are having trouble with it.

I wasn't expecting this to make it but I'm glad some people found it entertaining It's much better then clay fighter. It plays more like street fighter 2 then soul edge. Crazy special moves, chain combos, supers, and hidden moves that are not documented and nearly imposable to do. By todays standards it's nothing special but in the day it was good. Still hard to beat the fun of shooting people with Vermilion.

this game is a perfect example of how every game always using life or damage as punishment is just lazy design. I fell asleep halfway through but what I saw I liked.

I thought the main problem with this kind of tasing was that slowing down the timescale changed the physics, so that things where possible that shouldn't be. there was talk at SDA about making a mod to make hl tasable but it hasn't happened.

A low par tas may still be interesting. Because of all the free items, I think most of the levels can be beat without using any items. Using beds to fly is hard to do by hand. In order to beat long underwater levels with a lawnmower can be hard to do by hand because you'll run out of air. But yah most things are doable by hand. You can fly or sink with any vehicle if you equip/unequip fast enough, it can't really be done by hand.

this glitch ruins the game for me, talk about making levels look identical. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6EO_ghD5ME
