how could you verify that a move file starts on the last frame of another movie file? Run one of them, make a savestate at the end, then play it from that state? Sounds like it pointlessly hard to verify

I just used tekken 3 as an example because the times for the unlocks are well known. This kind of info for arcade games is not usually published. In any case pcsx has some problems emulating tekken 3. SFA 3 might be a better example, dramatic battle would make an neat tas and it's not as good in the psx version. Dromiceius: I wouldn't bother, it wouldn't work in all cases anyway

in tekken 3 you can obtain mokujin by Beating the arcade mode four times,
no you can't, for one thing there is no arcade mode in the arcade version.

a corect solution would be to do a "non published but accepted 100% unlock tas demo" first and base all the next submissions on this save (as the julius/maxim mode)
right that's how it would normally be done but most arcade games don't use saves and even for games that do save highscores and stuff fba doesn't emulate that

In arcade games when they have secret features it's common to unlock them with time release. For example, one of the first games to use time release unlock is tekken 3. To play as mokujin (the ideal character for a tas) the game needs to be on for 84 days, to unlock everything the game needs to be on for 129 days. Arcade tekken 3 is not tasable yet but other games like street fighter alpha 3 have a useful time release unlock and it would be good to have a standard way to use it. The way I see it We can just make the movie 84 days and 10 mins long with only the last 10 min having anything useful in it. Start a video from a save state and reset on the first frame ( I think the time caries through from a reset but I could be wrong, haven't left my computer on for a moth to test it ) Record a video like normal and put a note in the comments that you need the dramatic battle cheat enabled. anyway, thoughts on how this should be handled?

He is missing the two excellent ngcp games. I say go for two players, even if it's slower ( witch I don't think it will be ) it doubles the entertainment.

Why did you use the Japanese version? By pressing the attack buttons you can skip the text at the start rather then wait 10 seconds. Ending the CC with air throws is because throw damage doesn't scale like normal attacks so even after a 99 hit combo putting an air throw at the end will still do good damage even if nothing else will. I liked the shadow only custom combo vs guy and the Psycho crusher dodge

so you didn't choose this after seeing the recent spoony linkara crossover. I found it slightly entertaining so I'll give it a yes edit Comicalflop: yes it makes you a nerd, I recognized 90% of them, yes even the hunter in darkness

The reason for those missed attacks was to charge his super bar. As for juggling, in a custom combo you can juggle an opponent during any point in there animation. Otherwise you can only juggle an opponent only before they start to fall ( they change there frame of animation so they're facing more horizontal ). Also some moves can only juggle a certain amount ( mostly projectiles ) So e. ryus shinku hadoken will only juggle for three hits no matter what level it is.

OK first thing, you can skip the text at the start by pressing an attack button saving about 11 sec of waiting at the start. Why no glitches? It seems like a completely arbitrary distinction. I can't think of a single video on the site that avoids all glitches. Even the non-glitch runs like http://tasvideos.org/1114M.html still use glitches. As for the actual movie there where a few interesting setups but not enough to hold my interest for the whole thing.

My name is indeed error1

This. maybe some kind of explanation should be good....
I tried to explain it in the comments but I'll give it another try. If you hit an opponent with a level 2 or 3 soul throw then grab them with another super throw after they have been launched. Rose will still throw them. This will cause the opponent to recover from Roses throw as dhalsim is still throwing them. So in the video Sagat/Adon get knocked to the ground and do a wake up move, Dhalsim finishes the throw KOing them. They get KOed without being hit leading to strangeness. Here are some other strange things this can do that didn't make it in to the video ( I posed these in the arcade fourm before ) http://files.filefront.com/13684765 http://files.filefront.com/13693482 As for the glitch in the second Vega round. Doing roses punch alpha counter followed sims inferno super ( probably works with any super that causes the vacuum effect ) causes the opponent to be stuck standing in midair. Normally sims super would knockdown but I push Vega froward so that the last hit whiffs. From this possession Vega will stay on fire until he get knocked down and stay in the air until he hits a neutral state. The screen shot above is of this glitch. Hope that clears it up.

A strangely positive response. Thanks for the no votes I was starting to think I posted this in the wrong place. As I said before I think these characters or optimal but if someone does better with different characters then this one should be obsoleted. We don't need a sfz2a section with 5 runs. Seriously tho it's a non speed run of a fighting game, I need some more no votes or people will think it's fixed.

chances are you just need to rename it. It gets very complicated sometimes with arcade games. Just look at what roms your missing in the zip and if your not missing anything rename it to what it thinks it should be called. Chances are it will have the same checksum.

"Why did you use the Japenese version?" is only a matter of taste my http://tasvideos.org/Rules.html#UseTheCorrectVersion your supposed to use U rom unless there is a good reason not to. Your also supposed to use the same rom as any currently published movie.

Why did you use the Japenese version? I liked it better then the current ssf2 runs on site but I think it has a lot of room for improvement. Because your doing 2 player I would have liked to see some advanced strategies, like safe jump ins or instant overheads. Anyway am not going to vote until I see a reason you used a different version then whats already published.
