He can't take damage without dieing beacuse he only has 1 hp, you can recover right after being hit, so taking damage doesn't really do any damage to him. A better tag might be "get's hit to save time" rather then "takes damage".

If movies are judged purely on what someone who is not familiar with the game thinks, then judges should be required to never have played games that they judge.
I'm familiar with those, the kattobi cancels stuff is neat but has a really limited use.

In this movie, you use the exact same character pair, to the exact same entertainment effect. While, to a trained SFA3/SFA2 expert, these movies may be distinguishable, to a normal viewer, it looks like two characters unfairly beating on the CPU. I think a different mode, or different character choices may have helped this submission. However, it seems far too similar to the other movie.
That could be said of just about any two games if the viewer isn't familiar with them. Is there anyway to restart the thread with this in mind? I bet I get the same number of yes/no/meh votes.

sfa3 and sfa2 are way different then all the Sonic and megaman games combined. Is there any precedent for a run obsoleting a different game? Because if so, I think smb1 should obsolete smb2j

there are some kattobi cancels that are a little more useful but not as crazy looking. It's basically just canceling a move into an air CC but retaining it's trajectory. Zangief and Ryu's are probably the most useful, basically giving them a full screen jump.

so I'm guessing each end portal block has like a 1-10 chance of spawning with an eye already in it. If you can manipulate it to spawn full of eyes then you may be able to be the game very quickly by collecting snowballs running to a close portal and snowballing the enderdragon to death.

I think the character select screens are a good example of the difference, this might be a fairer comparison
ki has always had really choppy animation, and I can't comprehend how you could say it looks good in stills

I liked this movie. Good variation. I wonder though, why the same fighters as the published movie for SF Alpha 2? Isn't it possible to do something interesting with any of the other 20 or so fighters?
It' beacuse Rose and Dhalsim are the best.
Same reason you wouldn't play Luigi in smb1
seriously tho, they both have high damaging super throws, Rose has her always useful shadow super,
Dhalsim has four dive kicks, three slides, a telleport, an air taunt and can hit the opponent anywhere on the screen,
Rose has the unique reflect move, a useful varied set of normals, including a slide, forward moving f+hk, and an instant air lk.
I'm sure there are other characters who could make a interesting tas but I don't think this should lose points beacuse it doesn't use substandard characters
