Nice WIP! I don't think it will be so entertaining to watch full movie, but it's a nice game choice! I had an idea to test this game in 2015, but you decreased my wishlist :-) Read also this: http://www.gamefaqs.com/gba/919070-max-payne/cheats
Yeah I tested level 2 a bit. Enemies have more health. Shotgun still ends them in 1 shot. Boss takes 2 shots. And then sawed off in Level 3. Sawed off fires 10 frames faster per shot. 31 vs 41.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPPGxsbyNEM Audio appears to desync. Well you get the idea Quick run of level 1. It is mostly optimized until the room with 4 enemies. I think there are 12 levels. So the game should be under 20 minutes long if level length stays similar. What do you think about a full run?

Back from the dead? Starting over. I was only at 1-4 or so. When you fall onto the ground and need to change direction, jumping is 6 frames faster than turning around normally. Picking up a key and needing to turn around, jumping saves 2 frames. I am not sure yet how clipping through the edge of a ledge works. So far I have only done it while holding the key.

Hey people posted some things about this in march... I haven't touched it for over a year. It is an enormous project requiring multiple talented individuals. There is much less randomness than Final Fantasy games. I loved this game as a child. I don't think much can be done to break this game. I suppose the goal of these 8+ hour movies is more for nostalgia than entertainment anyhow. Is anyone still interested in this project becoming a reality?

The bad N64 TAS was much faster than PSX in level 2 with faster loading. I think N64 should be the preferred version. My level 1 was faster in every part except for an enemy you were able to skip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dy6M44_o2Y My level 2 was faster except for the cool damage boost. My better optimizing doesn't seem to matter at the end because of having to wait for a platform. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_o0Y-b6iFcs If I added these 2 tricks into my more optimized run it would be a few seconds faster. I still think this should obsolete the terrible N64 TAS. And maybe sometime in the next 5 years I will finish my version of this project. More testing with N64 vs PSX needs to be done.

Level 1 Faster than OmnipotentEntity by 6 frames. I copied a lot of his input. Grincevent seems to be doing some RNG research as well.

He's a humanoid robot. Samus is a human though.
Oh. My intent was to subtly infer men are better than women. As a joke.

If you are respected in the community and are providing a valuable service I don't see a problem with that. I don't see myself as respected but I wanted to try.

Asking $15 for Borderlands 2 and $20 for Assassin's Creed 3. These are full digital copies of the games redeemable through Steam and Uplay respectively. I bought a nvidia GTX680 recently and they were included in the box. I am selling these because I already own the games. I suppose paypal is the only accepted form of payment.

the low ceiling in 1-3.2 has a similar effect. 1-2 frames are gained each time your head hits a ceiling. It is still a helpful value. Allows exact same backflips without guessing. I'm working on 1-4 right now. Jumping after picking up a key saves 2 frames.

The speed value is strange. Spamming jump with the low ceiling in 1-3 for instance is faster than running. Spamming jump shows 259-0-259 speed. While running is 272 every frame. But at the end of the platform spamming jump every 2 frames is 14 frames faster than running alone.
