Okay, I went ahead and voted Yes. This is really a lot better than the published version. My opinion is that a run which is played at the hard mode should obsolete this version (should it get published) even if it is slower, as long as it uses the tricks this one does and manages to look decent.
My thoughts exactly. This is an improvement over the published run BUT it could use a few improvements itself. Any future runs should be on HARD. As far as the native women go, I assumed they were speaking gibberish but since you said the stage was in Brazil I thought maybe you knew something I didn't. I know the arcade features spoken Russian over the text in between stages. Hey, speaking of the arcade version, can't someone try playing this game on FBA?

to save you the trouble, the ethics was along the lines of obtaining the files off a site (long since dead i believe, i dont know) and then using an emulator to play it (either via ISO image or by using Nero or something else to burn the files to CD) which was deemed wrong and unethical by some and not by others for various reasons. yada, yada, yada... 100+ worthless posts and a massively redundant flamewar later, people were no further along than when they started.
A redundant flamewar on GameFAQs? Surely you jest. ^_^ Anyway, that's exactly how I got my copy of the game. I downloaded everything off of a website (still active, last I checked) and burned an ISO onto a CD-R. I don't feel guilty about it since the game is OOP and the system is defunct to boot. For legal, not ethical reasons I will not publicly disclose the URL of that site, but trust me, if you look for it, you'll find it. They also provide detailed instructions on how to create and burn the ISO file onto disc.

Great job Sleepz. If I may make a suggestion, it's a lot easier to fight Wily with the Thunder Beam. If nothing else, the length of the beam allows for easier SELECT button manipulation of the damage.

How does everyone feel about me starting this run over with the European version? I've been doing some testing and there is so much more possible with this version of the game. I don't think any other speedruns have been recorded with this version so I would be deviating from the norm. I do want to beat the game in the lowest completion time possible for a 100% run. This involves using an emulator, using glitches, and perhaps even the fastest version of the game. The European version would produce an insane looking run. The speed of the game would be overwhelming and the smv would be fun to watch. Feedback? I don't want to record any more on my old run until I've made this decision. On a side note, the European version has convinced me that you can't escape the bomb room in the US version. I can now sleep well at night.
What would be the point of switching? Just to have the game playback faster? You can just increase the speed of the emulator if that's all you want. Any comparison to other runs would take the PAL distortion into consideration. It looks like you have a really cool thing going here and I hope you won't start over again just for an empty aesthetic effect. Unless the European truly allows you to do something unique (like in Rygar), I urge you not to switch. But hey, just an opinion, it's your run.

OFF TOPIC: I want to do the same with Final Fantasy. Remaining ones:
FF MSX, FF2 MSX, FF Wonderswan, FF2 Wonderswan, FF4 Wonderswan, FF1+2, FFEZ, FF2 FOMA, 1-2 PSX, 4-6 PSX, FF7: BC/CC/DC, and of course this is by no means an exhaustive list of obscure titles and only includes titles with "Final Fantasy" in the name. In other words, I am again challenging your claim.
Here we go again. Please, everyone, let's maintain civility this time...

Fase 4: Esta fase é no Brasil! Uso as plataformas para pular bem alto. Deixar a esfera te atingir te faz ganhar 0,5 segundos.
If this phase is in Brazil, does that mean the native women are speaking Portuguese? Sorry about the poor research by the designers da Capcom. If it's any consolation, I doubt Russia is overrun by robots in coon-skin hats either. Why not play the game on Hard level? What changes are made?

Well, this looks very exciting so far. I can't believe you almost escaped the bomb room without fighting. So...what's the trick? How are you running so fast? I'm assuming it has something to do pressing the L or R buttons.

The link in the first post works but neither of the "v2" links do. Which one is the latest?

What of "Alpha 6?" Has it been surpassed? And thanks for the DLL resource. *b-mark'd*

OK, there's two different topics concerning VBA development, but at this point which is the "latest" version? People are starting to make a lot of test runs and they're in a "VBM" format as opposed to a "VBV" format. I have 1.7.2 "Alpha 5." I found links to an "Alpha 6" version but both links (including the supposed VBA homepage) didn't work for me at all. I downloaded a "VBA-rerecording-new5" but it wouldn't run because it says I'm missing MFC71.DLL Can someone clear this up for me and, if possible, provide a link? That works?

I'd like to see a better breakdown of the movie pages myself. I know I can (and do) use CRTL+F to find the title I want, but a little index might be nice.

Well, there's also the music, the character design, the whole "item crash" idea, and having a key as an item so you can rescue prisoners.

Rondo of Blood and Dracula X/Vampire's Kiss do have some striking similarities, but they are not the same game. So far as I know, there are no Japan-only SNES Castlevania games.

I voted YES but I don't think this should replace Sleepz' hilarious run.

April 1st, is that big in Sweden too? This submission is a very fun idea to commemerate the occasion. By the way, when you make a submission, does my vote really count? After all, it's your site and you can publish it if you like.

Is there any difference between the US and JP versions of the game besides the title screen? If not, I would stick with the JP version to see that nifty pic of Rockman.
