Call me a cynic, but unless your run is going for something different, I feel you should be faster than Linnom to be considered.

I can't view Blitzag's fmv, it crashes Famtasia for me. Was it done with an old (or very very new) version?

OK, having seen the glitches at work I think I want to see a superglitched run of this game. However, I just want to say again that it should not replace the unglitched one.

Since FCEU has better sound (and, IMHO, looks nicer), why not use it? Is it just because of the slower FDS access?

And Boco.. About "cheating". If that would be cheating, than most of everything here would be. But thats another discussion. I thought this site showed movies to entertain, not to do stuff humanly possible. I also thought we exploited the limmits of the actual console games. Hardly no movie on this site could be replayed by a human on a regular console right? There for I don't see it as cheating.
Let's be fair. Boco didn't say "cheating," she said "fair." Much like use of controller 2 to bend/break the rules of Mega Man 3, these Zelda 2 tricks were deemed inappropriate for movie making a long time ago. I suppose there might be an audience for a superglitched Zelda 2 run, which would be very quick, but I think such a movie would be viewed as independent from the established one. [EDIT] OK, fuwafuwa said "cheating" but the explanation was a good one.

テリマカシはメトロイドが上手だね。 Wow, that Ridley battle took a very long time. Still, this was very exciting! おもろかった!(関西弁^_^) As far as Sendai goes, I recommend "Hei Chin Roh," famous Chinese restaurant. おいしいでも高いよ。

I'm going to have vote "no" because of the always controversial "entertainment" provision. No offense to your work on this movie, but as you freely admit this game blows. Big time. So much so that I find it a chore to even watch it for two minutes. In contrast to the badness that is Dark Castle, I found that game amusingly (some might say embarassingly) awful in such a way as to keep my attention. It was like watching a car accident...with clowns. Cheetahman II is something I never heard of before and I wish I hadn't, like tapeworms. This is all one man's opinion, however. Please don't view this as a personal attack, a mistake first-time submitters sometimes make.

If entering a name affects your stats, shouldn't the name be left blank? Ohterwise, isn't that like entering a code? I'm reminded of other games where entering a certain name earned extra lives, bonus weapons, etc.

I don't know about submitting it for AVI, but I suggest throwing down a gauntlet and declare the Justin Bailey Challenge open! How fast can Metroid be beaten using the "Justin Bailey" oassword (and not UP+A)?

This game has come up before, mostly due its similarity to Rolling Thunder. Unfortunately, the NES version of Rolling Thunder licks balls, and this game is nearly identical to that game (some would say "rip-off" but not me). This game should go pretty fast. Most enemies only take one or two hits, and many can be ignored. There are no bosses except for the final stage. The only "power-up" that might come in handy is the machine gun in each stage. It's not more powerful but the firing animation is much faster.

Great job on the Ceres station, jecy. Very good idea to take a steam hit to clear the room.

To me its pretty simple, if a submission is faster than a current one and this one being faster by about 2 minutes then there is nothing more to say, its so damn obvious.
There's a lot more to say. If picking submissions were that simple we wouldn't have this Workbench forum at all. NESVideoAgent could just automatically approve shorter submissions. This submission is nothing special, I'm sorry. The published movie deliberately avoided using the knee to excess in the hopes of being more fun to watch. This run ignores that idea to the point of absurdity. At one point QBOB does a flying knee right into an explosion, taking needless damage. I vote no. QBOB, thanks for your efforts but remember this: Speed is not paramount; entertainment is. If you try again (and please do), emphasize the latter.

I owned this game on the Commodore 64 (originally known as Ultima IV). I never beat it. NEVER. I played it for years and I never beat it. If anyone finishes this game in less than three hours I'll buy you a present.

The mysterious "Samus Aran" movie is a 100% run in 00:47 (game time). No one carries it because of its unknown authorship and the controversy surrounding its (alleged) submission as an unassited run.

I believe the catcus creatures are known as "Pokey," originally from SMB2. Flying into the water to kick a fish was very funny, BTW.

The name of your ROM or your FCM is of little relevance. For the record, I played your movie using the same ROM that Genisto used, "Super C (U).nes" Looks pretty cool so far. These weapons fire such large spreads it's hard to tell if you're missing shots or not.

D'oh, I meant "not fond" instead of "not found." Well, you know what I meant.

FYI, Tarzan, Japanese people aren't found of the crude abbreviation "Japs." I will give credit to Bisqwit for making me consider other browsers. In an early version of the site, he used some kind of graphic-table that MSIE did not display properly but Firefox did.

A little wobbling goes a long way. You can have too much, but I don't mind a pinch here and there.

bjladd, that's a pretty cool idea. The key to make the video cool is lots of combos and counter-attacks. Like player 1 attacks, combo-style, but player 2 blocks it all and responds with a combo of his/her own. Or player 2 throws a projectile which player 1 jumps over and then smacks player 2 around. I think the Zangief movie is a great example of combo use, even with all the throws.

When you get a chance, I think we'd all appreciate a post containing links to all the most current runs, because after spending Thanksgiving weekend away from the board I'm a little lost. I watched the latest movie which goes through most of star road. Is there a movie that gets to that point from the beginning?
