I understood the Bison/Tyson problem, but I wish they hadn't swapped Vega as well.

Yeah, but I'm at college now and they're real strict about that shit. Well, I'll make a note of these titles.

For a speedrun, it's real purty. The boss battles are amazingly brief. If I ever became a millionare without a care in the world I would time attack this game. This will probably never happen though.

Thanks for that link. I had known about Pantera's "Mouth for War," but most of the others were new. Anybody have links for these other songs?

You might be right. I just checked and Mike Tyson's rape conviction wasn't until 1992. The "Mr. Dream" Punch Out says "copyright 1990."

Arc's site (link at top of page) has the MSX versions. I would love to see someone do an NES version, but attempts thus far have been aborted due to "boredom."

YECH. I don't even like Sailor Moon and that made me cry. Is there a more loathsome practice in the entertainment business than "localization?"

At one point Nintendo was very sensitive to any perceived "adult" content in their games. I remember the flyer they used to distribute with their "pledge" never to release any game that might be innappropriate for children. Hence, once Mike Tyson was no longer a viable spokesperson for a children's product, they booted him and created the imaginary "Mr. Dream." Of course, that all changed when they realized they were turning away adult customers.

I didn't say what I said because I think Zoizite is a girl. I didn't even consider it. What does an avatar mean? The movie is good. On a long movie like that, small errors can be easily overlooked when the overall product is fun. I didn't see anything "wrong" like Arc did, but that's because Arc has played this game a lot more than I have. Can the movie be improved? Absolutely yes. Is it good enough to be published now? Absolutely yes.

I'm still on Windows ME, debating whether to upgrade to XP or just buy a new machine. This one's getting old and I could use a nice, spritely laptop. I had to move this old boy into my dorm room, and it wasn't easy.

I watched at normal 100% speed and I was impressed. I love the color change in Brinstar after returning from Norfair. That was cool. Do that again.

I would put speed over "flawlessness," but consider this: How long will it take you to get knocked down and then win the fight? Will that take longer than just clobbering him?

I guess the games to check would be other Tecmo games, just in case they re-used the same engine on another game.

I think you missed a shot in X-2, a bullet bounces off the little hard hat fellow (forgive me Boco, don't have time to look up his name right now) Otherwise, I have no complaints.

Only when reading vertically. Horizontal has always been left to right, just like Chinese.

Are you using the UP+A trick? Or just playing straight through?

Got it working thanks to everyone's help. Kind of a cheap patch, actually, it only reverses a few sprites/values. I thought the levels would "backwards" as in Right to Left. Amusing none the less.

There are PS re-recording emulators. You just need the right plugins.

Well, you do take damage at the end. Is that automatic, or just a time-saver? I like it. This game was one I played a lot. Too bad there's so much auto-scrolling.

There's no "damage" in the game. You can touch most enemies and "bounce" off, just like the original Shinobi. A hit in this game is death.
