Hmmm, this is tough. The movie is really good, but I think it could be even better. You collect a lot more shuriken than you really need, going out of your way to get them sometimes (I'm thinking of the cave level and in front of the final boss door). Also, the magics reset to one after each level, so I think you should probably find a way to use it each level. Isn't the suicide magic really powerful? Wouldn't that defeat bosses quickly? You end up with a lot of extra lives, so that's something to consider.

My only complaint is the excessive shooting on the bonus levels. Regular levels look really nice. Boss fights feel slow but they don't appear to have any "mistakes." Seems like a good movie to me.

The one Deviance recommended. It find it a little unsettling to combine blood and Mario.

A little gory for my tastes, but pretty funny.

I believe part of the problem is that Grant's path is the slowest path. Sypha came first, then Alucard was faster. I'm not sure how eager someone is to complete a slower-than-both-of-those run.

Last boss still takes forever, and fighting the robots is slow. But you can't argue with results. Very fast time overall, and you skip all of the other boss battles! Cool beans, sir.

It's my understanding that "na" "ne" and "yo" are untranslateable suffixes that have meaning, but I can't explain that meaning. So "kuruna" is, more or less, the same as "kuru." It is definitely not a negative, which would be "konai." "Konaide" makes it an imperative, I believe.

I'm thinking it could also be "kuruna". But perhaps that wouldn't be used in a horror movie.
"kuru" is the verb "come," not a negative but in "plain" form, like you would find in a dictionary (the "na" is, well, I can't explain it). I would translate that as "I'm coming," not "Don't come."

Though, the other come is go.
Which makes more sense to me.

One thing I'm sort of curious about is the translated phrase "Don't come!", that's sometimes seen in horror games. From what I understand about the language, words can have additional or implied context depending on the situation; therefore, if a person is being chased and is speaking to their pursuers, while "Don't come" might be the literal translation, it might be better translated as "Dont come (near me/any closer!)". Am I right?
Yeah. In Japanese, more so than in English, pronouns/subjects are frequently dropped. So while "Don't Come!" sounds positively dirty in English, in Japanese it's perfectly OK, contextually. Of course, the other "come" is a different verb in Japanese entirely so there is no double entendre. Boco, I'm just curious here. How is it you know Japanese so well? I know you are much younger than myself. Are you taking it in college? I'm planning to but not until Spring.

Oh yeah, he quoted my totally awesome analogy. Thanks a bunch. You didn't have much space but you included my words. I appreciate it.

I just heard of this game for the first time last month. I agree, the music is pretty bad ass. I didn't get very far because I couldn't figure out how to play it. >_<

Thus far the submissions have proven to be decidedly unexciting to watch, though no fault of the authors. The game is pretty long and there are a great deal of slow moving or auto-scrolling levels. Playing the game twice-over doesn't help matters either.

I'm sure there's a first time for everything, but I can't imagine a MIDI file comparing to a CD-quality recording of actualy instruments. Is there something I can download to improve my MIDI performance?

You may have to "turn the disk over" before starting the movie. Look under Config -> Key -> Shortcut. I believe the default is F6. Before I did that, I got a "disk error."

Sandstorm.....SANDSTORM.... I loved that show. It's so easy to watch too. I can't believe no one is airing it anymore.

I believe that any run of this game should get the best ending with both rescues, unless some extraordinary glitch is exploited saving many minutes.

That is a huge part of how I think about things and how I treat other people. As certain as I am that God is not "real," strictly speaking, I must remember at all times that I don't have all the answers. Maybe I'm wrong and I'm on the fast track to Hell. Likewise, as much as I loathe the current Presidential administration and everything they do, I must keep in mind that there exists the possibilty that they are right and I am not. Of course, one of the things I hate about Bush & Co. is their refusal to admit even the slightest of errors. I'd respect them a lot more if they came clean about their mistakes and tried to convince me how they're going to set things right instead of trying to make believe that everything's going great, just as they planned it.

I hear real music in combo videos all the time. Check out some of stuff over at Cyberfanatics. I don't think it's a big deal to use a song in a little internet video clip. Frankly, if we really wanted to talk about copyrights, we'd all be busted for ROM possession.

I too hope to see this game. I played it but never managed to beat it. It was one of those "no save no password" games, so unless you sat down and played it straight through you couldn't possibly finish it. P.S. 4matsy, your avatar is Awesome.

I consider myself an athiest in that I do not believe God is "real" in the same sense that I am real. But I acknowledge that because God means different things to different people, it is foolish to pretend that God does not "exist." I don't know if that makes any sense, but it boils down to a "don't fuck with other people" philosophy: If you believe something that I don't, great. But if you tell me I'm wrong, go fuck yourself.
