I have the same problem and I started a new topic before being made aware of this topic. Still, there is no apparent solution.

Killer Instinct 1 and 2 require a separate "disk" file to run, much larger than the actual ROM. Usually it is available wherever ROMs are found. Be warned, even after getting the file to work, the emulation runs as slow as molasses. Good luck!

I remember one of the claw weapons had "random" status effects, including instant kill. Abuse that.

Can it be fired more than once, or will that crash the game?

Watched the lastest run. Nice work. But as some things got better it seems others got slower. The Draygon battle went a lot quicker this time, yet it felt like the Phantoon battle was longer. I've never seen him do that thing he did towards the end of the battle. What's up with the Murder beam? It obviously tears up Mother Brain (along with the graphics) but does it even faze Ridley? Doesn't look like it, and battle is certainly no shorter.

IIRC, the Varia suit becomes completely obsolete when you get the gravity suit. I've turned off the varia suit with the Grav suit equipped, and I've noticed no difference in the effects. They appear to be two completely different suits.
If what he says is true, you can skip the Varia. That'll cut whole seconds.

the RIAA doesn't matter with bittorrent...
As a matter of fact, it does. They are out there patrolling the BitTorrent activity right now, along with the MPAA and other copyright police. I should know, because I got into a wee bit o' trouble after downloading a recent feature film. Nothing came of it but they did notify my ISP who was cool about it. They saw it as a first offense kind of thing but they still sent me a serious letter warning me about sharing copyrighted material. After that, I took the high road and stopped downloading movies.

Say, blip, I've got a little problem. When I start "recording input," it doesn't reset the game. This makes a time-attack impossible. Can you help me solve this problem?

Every day I have to login to the Wiki page, while the message board remembers me. Is that something that can be fixed, or is it intentional?

Note that you need a "fds" file, from the Japanese-only Famicom Disk System. They may not be in the same place as NES/Famicom games.

Can the "murder beam" be used outside of the Mother Brain's chamber?

I think the "we are not cheating" point should mention that "cheating," by definition, involves deception. We cannot "cheat" if we clearly explain what we are doing and do not compete with unassisted players.

Now I've seen it. Thanks to Krysimis for the solution. I was using an old version. Anyway, on the subject of the run, I am reminded of the Genesis Ghouls 'N Ghosts run. Is it impossible to get the super-secret weapon in a single run-through? Because this is a very slow-moving game and to watch it twice is, in my opinion, unbearable. I wonder if the knife/dagger is the best weapon to use. Sure, it is fast, but it is noticeably weaker than the standard lance. Have you tried the others? An FAQ says the "scythe" has "probably the best magic in the game." Speaking of magic, I think it can be used better. It seemed that after using it, Arthur gains temporary invincibility. That could be used in lots of places. Maybe to get behind the giant fire/laser spitting bosses?

This was supposed to be for speed, but it got a bit boring.. it's very hard to do fights differently, since Ken doesn't have all that many moves. You can tell what my favourite finishing move is since I used it most of the time. Most of the fights average about 85 on the clock. Near the end I started doing fights more funny, trying to win in different combos, and not so much for time. You'll see what I mean =) That was fun.
Yeah, I see it. Did you win the final round with only Light Attacks? BTW, you can save a lot of time by skipping some the incidentals. Holding down any button will speed up the score count at the end of each round. Likewise, pressing a button will skip the pre-fight VS screen and speed up the post-fight taunting.

I have tried both the (E) and (U) versions but this movie doesn't work. In both he dies before the first stage is even halfway done. Is it just me?

Call me old-fashioned, but I believe if someone posts a message "hey, check out this site," that poster should give the address.

Losing ".3 seconds," as you put it, won't be noticed if you make up for it elsewhere. For example, no video yet has managed to perfectly jump over those big "bug helicopters" in the first stage. No, I don't know their real names. Guess that's a "Rockman-ban" for me >_<

Pretty nice, Frenom. I enjoyed your landing inside Dhalsim's Yoga Flame. Of course, there's still room for improvement, particularly on the bonus stages. Do you plan on continuing on this, or will you go back to Super Metroid?

Really great work, a vast improvement over the initial submission. What's with the pausing, though?

Are you suggesting that the rounds be played identically? Theoretically it's possible, but what kind of video would that make? It's too bad we can't set the game for one round victory, which is possible in later versions.

At lvl 7 the kicks and punches wont take so much as at lvl 3 which is normal difficulty.
I don't think difficulty affects the amount of damage you deal. See my above post for screenshot evidence. It takes longer because it's harder to land hits.
