I don't see any publications of this game, only a canceled submission #1431: laughing_gas's SGB Donkey Kong Land III in 35:15.80. It's not an obsoletion I guess?

You still missed one more Esc that triggers the final cutscene.

Wow incredible job! Didn't expect this game to surprise me (after having touched the 2p movie years ago, which led to me dropping it), and the lizard boss glitch left me shocked! I rewatched it several times and still couldn't figure out what happened!

TAStudio menu -> Config -> Set autosave interval -> Enter 0. Otherwise, what would really help me fix this is if you record a video of how you get this crash from fresh unzip of 2.3.1 release. Maybe reducing the Capacity will help to trigger it sooner so you don't have to record too long a video.

OH MY GOD This is the best April Fools day ever! This movie blew my mind, I've been hoping that this movie ever happens for so many years, and I even accepted the fact that it's never gonna happen, and now this thing spawns! The strats are incredible, I'm instantly considering starring this movie, and absolute Yes vote!

I'm having problems with rerecording this game. But I discovered the credits roll after you let a certain cutscene play. Please make the movie reach a point after which the game automatically finishes, and we'll use that for encoding. So only skip as many cutscenes as required for automatic end (which includes its own cutscenes that you don't have to skip).

I would agree that making a decision that the game can be called abandoned is somewhat subjective, and it boils down to "seemingly abandoned enough". On the other hand, publishing TASes of demo versions of games in active development feels substandard in principle, at the very least quite questionable, "meh". As some sort of a preceding rule, we don't allow prototypes unless there's no full release, and we don't allow in-development hacks/homebrews. Since this is uncertain, we can't officially say "this is a fully legitimate fastest completion tool-assisted speedrun of this game". It's a pre-emptively invalid speedrun (since it will most likely be superseded by a full game run), and it's not quite a game just yet.

Since the site prefers quality to quantity, having something just so it could be superseded later doesn't look like a good standalone reason. Will this movie stand after the whole game has been properly TASed? There are different ways to answer this question. If the game is abandoned and never released, of course TASing the only available chapter makes sense. If the game is released, and the chapter is changed, resulting in lots of unique gameplay that's only available in this chapter, it also makes sense to TAS it independently. If the final release has chapters freely selectable, yet again it makes sense to TAS it separately as a sub-game or a special mode. But if the chapter is present in the final game mostly as is, then the movie will be published kinda pre-obsoleted, which only satisfies the impatient, and impatience has never been an influential factor at TASVideos. But right now, the main problem is that we can't tell which scenario it is, because there's no full release. I think we should just wait and prepare.

Okay I'll use that file for movie replacement. Though I have one question. After the movie ends in Hourglass, I can't send any inputs to the game, is that how it works? If so, we'd need a movie for encoding that actually ends at the final stats screen so that no rerecording is required from the publisher.

As I mentioned previously, for the Gate Thief sprite, you cannot enter Level One unless you first go to a different level, and do a certain trick (depending on the level). So you can store your progress to Level Two before performing the sprite glitches, and then use the Continue option to enter Level Two, before attempting to enter Level One with "New Game" and perform a Warp glitch. Combining the Warp Glitch to skip several levels with the Gate Thief to skip gates, it is possible to beat the game in under 20 minutes, and also comply with all TAS rules.
Sounds interesting. Please break the route up to logical steps so they are stupidly obvious and could be checked against the rules even easier.

I can't find a movie that ends at the final shot.

Either way, hardest difficulty is not a requirement.

Should we keep asking passive-aggressive questions and never actually post the movie that we consider a known record? It's not known unless it can be found. If it's public and allowed to be examined for improvements, then we can have a link, no one is planning to simply reuse someone else's work without permission. If it's actually private and isn't supposed to be watched, then we shouldn't care about it as a record.

Okay I watched it more carefully and I think this screen should be the final one in the encode: https://i.imgur.com/wpPgtXj.png I guess the movie used for encoding should be edited to stop there. As for the main movie, we can publish the one that stops at the final shot. There's nothing after that final shot in the file you linked above? If we're measuring it that way, the last required action should be the last movie frame.

There most certainly is a memory address that works as a lag flag regarding in-game physics. Every time lag occurs and this (to be found) flag is set, you can do this:
Language: lua

event.onframeend(function() emu.setislagged(memory.read_u8(YourAddress) > 0) end)

I found this:
GameFAQs wrote:
''Reallyjoel's dad'' Difficulty You must have the Ultimortal difficulty unlocked to be able to use this cheat. To unlock the ''reallyjoel's dad'' difficulty, choose New Game at the title screen, and hold the Right arrow key for five seconds at the difficulty screen. This mode is quite literally impossible to complete since you cannot complete Sector 1, as well as being extremely difficult.
Though I couldn't find a way to unlock Ultimortal without completing the game once.

Then just play from the start and beat the final boss.
