ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOTHING LETS ME PASS THE DESERT LEVEL. Also, if someone else will be dumping it, they'd need a state captured with 48000 sound, or it will glitch.

With another downloader I got that the cap is indeed 60.0, so ignore my above post.

Tried 4 times, all with the same result. Did it desync there for you too?

It desyncs in the desert level if I'm dumping.

I guess it's some difference in your cmd.exe. Try googling the problem.

Before I try 9000 times over, what's the cleanest way to dump this run to avi?

Getting the file is no problem, but we lack a whole bunch of published hacks patches there.

Some of the hacks we've published have their patches hosted on https://code.google.com/archive/p/tasvideos-moviefiles/downloads and directly linked in the movie pages.
Also, http://tasvideos.org/Movies.html wrote:
IPS patches for hacked games (except Street Fighter II: Rainbow Edition) can be downloaded here: http://tasvideos-moviefiles.googlecode.com/files/ips%2Bpatcher.zip . Lunar IPS patching program is included.
This link is also broken. I think we should organize this better, and host the real files on github. One of the reasons is that some patches become harder to find over time, we don't want to completely lose the way to replay some of our runs. PS: Some guy tried to export, but got nothing obviously, since everything was in downloads: https://github.com/lewisje/tasvideos-moviefiles This should've been posted in the Sites section probably?

Do you mean right-click? That's the only thing that freezes it for me.

I like this idea btw. No guarantees it will be accepted, but I think people are gonna enjoy. Also consider absorbing #2908: HappyLee's NES Super Mario Bros. "lowest score" in 14:32.80.

I already gave you the clarification, saying exactly the same thing as MUGG did.

The actual cap is 59.94fps. Regardless of what some tools say, everything I uploaded that was 60 and higher got reduced to 59.94. 59fps upload remained intact. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLR_HUaPVlquNIuYE9j4BHAkN4WIL8gTaG For a 59fps upload, it dropped no frames, just killed some of the last ones, 4997-4999, for a 5000 frame source.

TAStudio asks whether it should save the changes, and canceling the closing is a usual part of that. I'm not opposed to having a warning window, I just don't want it to be the main (or the only) solution. Though I have endless confirmations too.

Those dialogs might be handy, but they sound like they're a sloppy workaround in this case. There should be no way to misclick in the first place.

Please excuse my ignorance on the matter, but does a RAM state containing only zeroes must be proven possible on a given console now before submitting a run with this property? I realize that this is probably true for most computers by waiting long enough on a power off state, but I don't think it's true for the general case. If my fear is justified, it would put the validity of most published movies into question.
The point is not that the current runs should also have that proven, but that all the runs should have reasonably equal conditions for a fair competition.

I was reading my old posts, found this thread, and decided to bump it, as some years have passed, and probably there're new people that have something to say.

I don't care about the rules timing, but I can remind about this one: #5266: Alyosha's NES Cybernoid: The Fighting Machine in 04:39.02 That run relied on a startup state that can be possible, but is not guaranteed to be so, it relied on an unreliable thing and got rejected. That set the precedent, and the rule was just a result, to make all the future occasions like this clear (I guess?).

I'm also very fortunate to have a local collector who has almost 700 NES games, although I can't meet up with him all that often so we'd want to batch them up.
That's INSANELY AWESOME!!!

For a first-pass it may make sense to get a flash cart which will admittedly be using fake mappers but will otherwise exercise the console properly and will allow testing any game loaded on it without physical interaction.
I dunno if PowerPak can return to the same game after the reset, but Everdrive can, and it's also more accurate than PowerPak. Though, no flash cart is as precise and a real cart, so absolute levels of accuracy shouldn't be tested against them.

Is it acceptable to make and submit movies with this setting enabled?
Wasn't ever considered, but I guess it isn't acceptable, as it would emulate a modified hardware which we don't allow.

I am still curious about Gen+GX though.
GPGX wasn't saving interlaced flag to states, but that might be just our version of it, and it was fixed for your libretro build.

RaijinXBlade, do you have a way to test state loads during interlaced mode in some official gpgx build? I get corrupted graphics in bizhawk if I rewind in that mode.

So you're wasting time and getting inferior output just to get that stupid melt? Ok, have fun.
Exactly. Can there be a way to capture it internally?

And it doesn't capture the melt effect apparently. EDIT: For the reference:
