I'd point out that runs aren't rejected just because they desync on console/more accurate emulator. It has to be a deep bug preventing theoretical console replication entirely.

Does "getting teleporters" just mean activating them? I don't remember an item you get that way.

I have an interesting example. The game we're currently tasing, Gargoyles, has 3 difficulty settings, and it only affects the damage you take. The damage isn't refilled between levels, but most levels have refill items. Though, some of them aren't available in the tas route. So at first we thought that Easy would allow more damage boosts, then we tested Normal, and there's only a few places where we're heavily running out of health and need heavy planning. And the time it takes to pick Easy in menu (2 seconds) doesn't seem to justify what time we can gain just for playing Easy. So we decided to stay on Normal. The point is, Normal makes for a more interesting gameplay due to the mentioned heavy hp management in those places, and it's actually harder to tas, because of the amount of testing required. And at the same time, it is probably real-time faster. Hard is just too hard, and is unlikely worth it. That's also an example of adequate explanation to me.

Uh, I guess I'd have to invoke Suuper on this too, I don't understand the tsm logic enough. It erroneously counts branch states as greenzone when figuring out which states it can afford dropping from the greenzone during saving. Hold on.

Errr, Mario games are quite an obvious pick. As I said, use as many as your available amount of tasbots allows. I'd use SMB2 since it hasn't been replayed yet, and isn't too famous outside tasvideos, though it's a popular run over here. And since SMB2j isn't an option, and SMB1 is already too famous, I'd use SMB3, that is also a trend for using ACE.

Your branches (as well as states) died when you saved it, don't know how. You might want to learn to stably reproduce such tasproj corruption so we can try fixing it.

I fail to see how that's an example, considering the RTA you link takes about 11 minutes, whereas the TAS is twice as fast ([1543] NES Gimmick! by Aglar & Hotarubi in 05:11.49). If a new TAS were submitted wit the same length as an RTA (or close to it), it would be summarily rejected for being suboptimal.
First of all, it's a 100% speedrun. If you watch this and the RTA, you'll see how similar the strats are. And it's not about total time, it's about precision.

I'd actually say it's alright. We have real-time speedrunners skillfully reproducing tas-only (as it was believed) strats, and we don't unpublish such tases just due to that. Because tases still differ by precision. If you think about a 1-frame movie, it might seem that it's too similar to the slightly longer real-time run, but now even Gimmick's tas strats are reproduced, and for some reason no one thinks Gimmick is not worth having a tas for. Because of precision. And in this particular case, 1-frame movie is just simply fantastic to have!

It's youtube fucking with us over years. It introduces an automatic algorithm to stop killink 30 fps blinking, it introduces 60 fps, then it drops the former, and we can't afford 2 encodes for every publication. I can do ng_deblink, and it would blend all the objects blinking at alternate frames while still leaving the video 60 fps. But it would have a lower priority than publishing accepted runs.
