But the experienced guys over at gamehacking.org have been itching to be able to make Saturn and Sega CD codes with a decent debugger/ram search/trace logger, etc. for years now. Currently there's no decent way to do so. Same with Genesis
You want me to list all debugging emulators that exist for Genesis?

Thank you for the nice idea, arandomgameTASer. As I've said before, I will rate every movie after the rating system requires 1 click instead of 10 clicks. I like rating stuff. I rate albums at allmusic.com, movies at imdb.com and books at goodreads.com, all of which require 1 click only. Rating can be done easily right after finishing the thing and it takes only a second. By the time I've rated 10 TASes at TASVideos I've rated 100 things elsewhere. That's why I don't bother rating TASes.
Not too huge a list for 10 clicks either. I'll rate. EDIT: It doesn't mean you'll like my ratings though. They make clear the reason I don't rate anymore at all.

As was suggested on IRC and sounds best to me, it should start from some (FF?) game on NES, and at the end of the chain it can be taking over the same game on GBA, but while at the first step it's being ACEd, the last step should actually complete the game. Bonus points if it can have a glitched ending on GBA version as well. So this is what I suggest to start testing with: is it possible to "GEG" the GBA version? I would do that if I knew GBA asm, but I only now NES and Genesis. Question: do we have enough speed for data going from NES controller port to successfully and efficiently provide payload to younger consoles?

What about separating mind-blowing and races? The former are already set up for Adgqs, while the latter might be left for Sgdqs. Some kind of a tradition if you will, reducing the preparation chaos a bit.

The term "re-recording" for movie editors is not appropriate, because there's no recording, there's editing. It's just a better name for it.
Yeah, except in taseditor it only adds rerecords if you edit input on a greenzoned frame, which IS similar to loading an earlier state and recording different input. If tastudio does it differently, it needs to be fixed.

It's not about motivation, it's about having nothing else to do. Don't pay for internet for the next month and you will easily find time and interest in tasing.

Due to TAStudio producing high amounts of "re-records", it probably makes more sense to change the term to "input edits" or similar in encodes for editor based TASes.
Firstly, as I already said (a few times), unless you have 50 combos with 100 presses, all of which you put manually one by one each time, you don't produce high amounts of rerecords just from using tastudio or taseditor. Secondly, no one is blaming you if you end up having 1000 more rerecords than after regular tasing. Thirdly, if you do edit the hell out of your input, you get valid rerecord count no matter how high it is. MESHUGGAH did that, his numbers were insane. Fourthly, your suggestion to call tastudio rerecords NOT rerecords (but input edits which is the same thing) sounds silly. Lastly, stop spreading this rumor about tastudio/taseditor producing high amounts of fake rerecords. If fceux had a bug in counting rerecords and their amount looked too little, it doesn't mean anything.

This is a pointless discussion since NitroGenesis already decided it is verified. Who am I to argue.

I tested it out with SNES / Super Mario World and it started lagging at 14000 frames. Same thing but a bit later apparently.
These both are of the same family, so they might have some leak in how they save states. Please check something like Genesis or NES. The more the better actually. Noticed zeromus's post that already covered it.

Since it's already collaborative, won't it be good to co-author kaizoman? For competitions and final movies they end up with, we use to co-author anyone without whom it wouldn't be as fast.

I'm having hard time imagining someone needing interlaced framebuffer for video or images. Interlaced is for TVs, and when it's not, it's for geeks. And geeks can develop their own geeky tools :P

My point is that even if I and you consider this verified, there can be tons of people getting insane over how terrible idea it is (to them).
