The only thing left now: go convince the crowd that it's worth it. I bet you still didn't read that long post, right?

Your only support is "we've been doing it all this time, so why should we change"?
It's not "support", neither it is "only". It's a question: why does something need to be changed? Especially when it's a common and traditional practice. Can you list the benefits? Mothrayas: so you think that non-existent buttons don't apply to "The device can't do something, but the console accepts it => it's legit"? Or that L+R doesn't apply there? Or that it's not the TASVideos approach for 10 years? What makes these completely different universes in your eyes? Why the same approach can't be used on both issues?

Ah, okay. My point is, we can't apply some new approach that would contradict our traditional one, right? L+R was considered virtually legit for all those years, as was resetting during saving, and all such stuff. It also syncs on the console as we feed it directly. Then what's the point in banning it suddenly when doing the real verification? Why suddenly limit ourselves with stock controllers? That post tells why not.

How do you fix such stuff? Can you edit movie lengths?

I wrote that. What point are you trying to make?

Then it doesn't matter for me. The device can't do something, but the console accepts it => it's legit. That is the approach we were using for 10 years. Disagree?

I'm perfectly fine with Left+Right.
But you can't do that on a normal controller by design. Hence, since many of our tases use it, it won't be legal on your "ideal verification machine".

You imply that left+right is not legitimate input on a "stock controller" of a SNES console.
I was saying that it's not designed as a feature.

Otherwise, I still don't get why you brought this up in the first place.
We use that technique no matter what for 10 years now, which should make it a borderline for the guy who wants stock controllers for verification. Either he considers the site's approach illegal, or agrees to stretch his views. xnamkcor: read the post I linked there, the one that JXQ (does he need an introduction?) called "very well-written".

The that thing in the middle doesn't look like such an argument for you, I don't know what does.

What made you think I am for banning that technique? http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=377096#377096

Specify the range please. AFAIK NES or SNES regular ones don't allow that.

The 10-year practice of pressing opposite directions during TASing kind of disagrees with you.

That's the definition of healthy attitude in my opinion. One can "like a lot", "love", "be fond of", and it all can be healthy. Once it becomes "too much", it's kind of idolatry. Some people like sports too much, others make money on that. If all of them knew when to stop, sports wouldn't be idolatry.

Please put spaces between the pictures so that the site could break the line. Otherwise, great effort!

I'm updating the submission with this file, right? I only don't know how we could set the proper time in the database then.

Yeah, as soon as content basically overlaps, branch overkill doesn't happen due to obsoletions, only the best, unique combinations will survive :)

Is there any difference in the endings after beating one map, and after beating all? This is all only about Mercenaries.
No, each just ends with a results screen and an unlock screen(as applicable), similar to the example video above. The possible unlocks are the four characters, and the Handcannon as seen at about 06:30 in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wb8JdUgtdEg
This. Because of that, this run is not a "single level", but as "single minigame" one, which has nothing against our traditions. Normal games keep going after you beat one level, and show you the ending after you beat them all. Here it doesn't even matter if you beat all, half, or one, the only difference is statistics. So I'd accept this run as is, and it will be possible to obsolete it with a run that beats all the maps, if anyone makes such, or with one that just improves the current map or score. Opinions?

Synced the run, now I have questions. How would putting several maps completions in one movie look? The submission says the levels are independent, I presume the game kind of ends at a single map completion, and then how is it resumed on the next map? Also, other maps require more unlocking/verification stuff, right? Is there any difference in the endings after beating one map, and after beating all? This is all only about Mercenaries.
