Also, PLEASE youtube these vids. And maybe try to pick another game for next tutorials. The "Filename" text each time you load the state is also too long & annoying.

Awesome glitches! I never knew this game is that buggy. Recently, I was thinking about the 2nd player bug in Clinger Winger. Maybe it's not even a bug, but a feature? Think about it: if one player dies, you have to restart the whole level. So playing it with two players makes it even more difficult as it already is. Probably the game designers let player 2 die on purpose to make it less difficult? Has anyone tried to hack the game and fix this "bug"? it would be interesting to see if this level becomes more difficult if playing with 2 people.
The reason of this "feature" is that the game testers never reached level 11 in 2P mode. Rare didn't use special codes to switch the levels for resting (Konami did).

The next WIP so far Link to video http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1793619359/Battletoads-2p-Warp-WIP1.fm2 I tried to cut the path with the new glitch in level 4 differently, but this seems the only way. Just a test run though.

But can it be done with a single player in some form... that is the question.
Nope, the screen will scroll right normally and the left dead end for jets can't be moved left to let you jump in the whole. It is tied to the screen, not to the level background. http://tasvideos.org/GameResources/NES/Battletoads.html#ChangingTheLayoutOfLevel3

Link to video This glitch heavily improves Level 3. But I got it with simple trial & error method. I can't debug the code, so I can't optimize this glitch, though I'm sure it can occure much earlier. Here is the movie for FCEUX 2.1.4a http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/949223628/Battletoads-WARP-GLITCH.fm2 Currently I'm making a warpful version of 2 player run because I hope that I can save more time with 2 players than 1 player warpful run does. And the strategies are very improvable because I can observe my own input, shift it in both directions, control each player separately AND I know the engine.
I ask people who can debug the code to help me optimize this glitch & so become a co-author of my TAS.

YESing + HDing. EDIT: Fininshed watching. This is the rare case when I laughed during the run (several times!), so it's absolute YES for entertainment. And as this heavily manipulates AI, it is also of very high technical value. Add tag "Heavy luck manipulation"?

Some time ago I asked the same question as the first post does & was answered that we just NEED to fix resolutions for TV games. Because it pleases the normal vewer. Though not much people still use consoles to play old games, & yeah, the framesize of our actual emulator movies differ from what the viewer is used to see on his TV. So, I don't know... The "law" was once set & now it's questioned. But yes, I'd like to stop "correcting" aspect ratio. EDIT: We shall provide info how to set AR correction in common players.

Nice, we have million of people not related to TAS any way, and to make them understand what we are talking about HERE, we shall change OUR common acronym to something random unnecessary for the comunity itself.

mindnomad Tip: you can dump a movie of action you need (with lossless codec) & export it into GIF via VirtualDub.

20 doesn't blink faster, it just leaves more frames with sprite than without. It would look opposite if the sprite starts disappearing another frame.

I can't make a lossless dump, Gens crashes at frame ~90. And I'm not even thinking of making a lossy dump.

I mean, why youtube what's already youtubed & upload what's already uploaded (not vice versa).

Can you say what's the point of doubling the encodes with mere dumps? Whether it has been already youtubed or uploaded to mediafire. I can get when you upload vids of WIPs (& appreciate it!), but this...
