Answered your question by expanding the Shadow Boss comment in submission.

Wow, really good run! Of course, yes vote! But errr... when you will do a run using rerecords, slow down and frame advance?
I'm still waiting for some magic that would allow using TAS Edit on other platforms. This run is summoned to show that it is worth doing.

17200 - Stage 2: Billy dies on the motorbike. - For fun. 33600 - Stage 3-3: Billy dies from electricity on a rope. - To minimize collision detection & this terrible lag. 41000 - Stage 4-1: Pimple dies in the spaceship. - Several deaths prevented sooting delay. 52000 - Stage 5: Pimple dies during some flying antics. - 2 dynamites thrown at once caused 60 frames of lag. Now much less. 55200 - Stage 5: Pimple dies before fighting Robo-Manus. - As he hits Robo-Manus, he then doesn't have time to jump high enough before the shock animation, when he is falling down. He would die after this hit anyway. 62000 - Stage 7: Billy dies before the Dark Queen appears. - For fun.

You see, all the lag was allowed for entertainment. If I just ran around the floor without hits, it'd be the worst ending ever IMO. But the timing would stay the same as if I'd cut the movie. Weird, isn't it? BTW, why so few people care about cutting this movie too late? I expected to see sorta divided court.

Yeah, this was the original, and all others (GB, Gen, SNES) were ports. With different amount of awesome stuff from the original, speaking about the gameplay. As for TASing tricks, I didn't check either the SNES one contains all of them, or just few, or no at all. In total, the gameplay is the same, and strategies for saving time are most probably the same. I really don't know if we shall try obsoleting the SNES version by its own, & keep both versions TASed, but I personally doubt we shall. And what deaths were out of place?

That said, there might be some actual tradeoffs here. For example, in the second to last boss battle, why did you throw the toad when he could have been used to kill the boss faster? That might have been able to save some actual time. I'm sure there are other examples like this. Could you explain this? P.S. I wish I took up your offer to potentially co-author this thing, but I probably would have gotten in your way. :\
These thoughts aren't clear for me. Rephrase please. EDIT: Added "Bosses" section.

Maybe my current revision is just aiming to the best in-game time or something? The ingame timer here doesn't drop out all laggy frames, but counts untill the actual end of the level (Level Clear fanfare) in concord with the real time (didn't check this precisely though). I just didn't think this feature would be such an issue, as I allowed tradeoffs.

Did FODA's toad disappear for some seconds? Did another toad get a hit from the AIR while thinking he defeated his toad-partner & was going to take the bonus item?

AnS: I aint saying NO to trimming this movie. I only want people to say, if it is worth doing. Also, see my 4th edit above.

AnS: As it is not the gameplay improvement, but just cutting the movie file, which still contains this ending as a tradeoff, I think I will post here the trimmed movie & let the viewers compare. And to say what they like more. EDIT: http://rghost.net/6450241 This is how it looks. Can't see how it is better. EDIT 2: As DarkKobold & me discussed in IRC, this game requires one more Start press to skip the last dialog cutscene, though it is saying "GAME COMPLETED", it may & must be skipped. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1772180411/feos-battletoadsdoubledragon-2p-cutsceneskipped-0rerecord.fm2.gz EDIT 4 (& the last, I hope)
DarkKobold	feos: uh, I misunderstood you
DarkKobold	I thought you could skip TO the cutscene between the chicken and the queen
DarkKobold	not that you could skip THE cutscene.
DarkKobold	I'd say, with that, leave the movie as is.

I forgot to add, that fighting a boss with just a Toad is faster than with both characters, because the Dragon's lower attack has longer animation & his hit gives more lag. And that the stage 2-3 has a fixed length, so it doesn't matter, if I kill any enemies, or not. Flying above the screen all the stage will cause no lag, but I decided to fly around a bit. Also, if you touch the floor, your jet will stop flying. EDIT: Some further explanations. If the character runs in one direction, then charges to another, he can't instanly run to the latter direction after the charge animation, so sometimes there are perionds of mere standing. I was pressing forward every other frame to force them to run all these times. The enemy needs to be knocked out of the screen so that he does not fade out on screen. It clears the memory for the next enemy or for resuming scrolling. So, I had to make finishing attack by the Toad many times. Please ask what you want as I fail to remember all the aspects. AnS: I refused stopping the movie at the last attack of the boss, to show the final battle between characters. It lasted through all the stages.

One thing I'd like to mention is when you talk about the future of TASing. You mention how people will try to create new categories like completing 8 unrelated games across different platforms using one controller (words to that effect). When its much more obvious to mention newer consoles becoming TASable e.g. Wii, 3DS.
The multiplatform TAS emulator is being developed. That is our nearest future. [/spoiler]

I don't think that counts as heavy luck manipulation at all. Should be a 1 in 9 chance.
So,what is heavy?I only said for that situation. And it's due to Yunshui's miss in Stage 2. Darkwing Duck on NES,it's only 1 in 7 chance for one random item dropping manipulation.
Such decisions about chances aren't so accurate; if we have 7 items to drop, and it depends on some weird RNG, the chances are far not 1 of 7.
