I am trying to make a program that will use a second thread to get a list of files, and show that list into a listbox. The listing part works great. But, I can't get the second thread to behave. When I try and use a second thread, the process seems to work until I get to the add to list box function. I get the error message: Cross-thread operation not valid: Control 'lstFiles' accessed from a thread other than the thread it was created on. Code I am using to update the list box:
 For Each path In FileList
            lstFiles.Items.Add(path)
Next
I know I am supposed to invoke a callback but I have no idea how to do that.

What about the Arcade version (looks the best, but least features), Genesis (less features, less graphical), Saturn (Let's NOT do that one), and the PS2 (Looks great)? Should any of those versions obsolete the 32X version (Deluxe)? What port should be the port that we use here?

The poll says: "Did you find this movie entertaining?" Not, "Should this be published?" I miss the old system. :(

There will never be a console accurate emulator (and thus never a console-verified TAS) for pokemon rby/gsc due to how insanely hardware-implementation-defined the RNG in those games is.

MESHUGGAH, Why shouldn't we (TASVideos) encourage accuracy to help further our claims of legitimacy? Some people think TAS runs are cheated runs. If we can prove that Run X, can be played on a console, then that shows that we are not just "cheating." I can understand the problem that changed cores causes everything that was done, to become useless. But accuracy helps legitimacy and that's what TAS is about.
Using these tools, we overcome human limitations to complete games with extremely high precision, entertaining our viewers as our players tear through games at seemingly impossible speeds. The end result of this process is simply a series of key-presses which may be performed on the original hardware.
With that out of the way, I don't think that re-syncing a run on a more accurate emulator should be given the same weight or whatever we want to call it, as the original run gets. Yes, you did something good for TASVideos, but that doesn't mean you're the author that deserves all the attention for it. Yes, you deserve some notice, but you didn't break the game, the original author did.

Another Sega doing what Nintendo can't. Who made the latest and arguably, best F-Zero? Sega. Wait, how the hell did that happen?! How did Sega out do Nintendo on their own franchise?

I am not sure if the voice acting was trying to be comical or serious or both. It's funny either way.

I don't agree with this being published/accepted. Let's keep games on the system that it was primarily designed for.

To me, this is some weird meta stuff. Here we are emulating an SNES that is running a Game Boy that is also being emulated. Wikipedia says:
The original Super Game Boy is known to play the game program and its audio 2.4% faster than other Game Boy hardware. This is due to the use of the Super NES's clock speed divided by 5 (which ends up being 4.295 MHz), instead of 4.194 MHz.[2] The timing issue can be rectified by adding an appropriate crystal to the Super Game Boy and disconnecting the Super NES's clock source.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Game_Boy Information quoted at time of post and assumed to be accurate. Also, SDA also has more on the speed difference. https://kb.speeddemosarchive.com/Super_Game_Boy_timing

So, back in the early 90's Sega was running ads that declared: Genesis does what Nintendon't What does that mean? Well, in a TAS concept, we have four separate Nintendo games (Battletoads, Kirby's Adventure Super Mario World and Pokemon R/B/Y) all jump to their end point WAY ahead of what was intended. By intended, the games are "forced" to go to their ending point with out the player doing anything that the game designers (path, plot, ect.) setup beforehand. Meanwhile, there's only one Genesis game that can do that. Why am I even talking about this? Because I enjoy pointing out that Nintendo can't seem to program things right.

If I was doing a roguelike, I would have save files in XML format. That allows me to separate things neatly into groups.

I know that ZeldaSpeedRuns accepts VC or Original console runs. I don't know if they accept emulators though.

This is what makes TASVideos so great. We have a submission, others take it and improve it. I have been watching some Zelda Speedruns and those games are broke. I thought Nintendo knew how to make a game. Guess not. Mario has some broken mechanics, Zelda has bad clipping issues in their 3D games, and now Kirby, just sends you to the end of the game just because you went into some water.

Is the damage for entertainment? I would say "Takes damage for entertainment." Otherwise it would be "Takes damage to save time."

Here's a quick test AVI I did: http://www.mediafire.com/?vwu9fv3yx16k530 I made a level where a rocket goes from the top Left (facing upwards) to the far right of the screen and goes back again. Maby this can be used somehow to determine speed based on how long it takes the rocket to go from A to B and back again.
