Not to sound like a killjoy, but the development page for hourglass still has add mouse support on the issues page.

Have you tried remapping the keys themselves in hourglass? Recently when I was playing around with Psycho Waluigi I found that you can configure the keyboard keys in a similar way to how you can configure the controller buttons in other emulators. Perhaps you could configure hourglass to use other keys that aren't used by La-Mulana as the F keys.

I agree that an "all levels" run of Super Mario Bros 3 should be done, and if this thread for this movie are anything to go by, there actually was one on the site at some point.

In one of the levels of world 2 (can't remember which one), I use L+R to enter a wall and ended up coming out into a water area, but was still playing as if I wasn't in the water. Today, I decided to play around with this game again and found out that if you're in the water, enter a wall and come up on land, the reverse is true and you can swim anywhere until you re-enter the water, die, or end a level. This could be useful, but I haven't thoroughly tested this glitch yet, but it could potentially save time in some spots. The only problem is that you can't face backwards in mid-air, so you can't enter walls unless you're on the ground, but in most cases, with a purple eggplant you can swim over the ceilings anyways. EDIT: Link to video Pardon the quality, I'm used to video editing with Camtasia, not Corel VideoStudio EDIT 2: I just confirmed that the spot where I demonstrate the swim in air glitch at is faster using swim in air than it is to wall climb. By my rough estimate, it saves about ~125 frames over the wall climb. I'm going to continue my testrun of level 1 to see if it is in fact faster. EDIT 3: Well, it appears that it is overall slower to use Swim in Air than it is to complete the level normally. If there was a convenient spot after the mountain to cancel the glitch at, it would be more useful, but it doesn't appear so.

Un-check read-only mode when you begin to play the movie, then when you want to resume recording make a savestate and load the state. As long as read-only mode is un-checked, you should be able to resume recording.

Well, it's been 5 months since I last touched this run, or this game for that matter. I really don't have the motivation to continue the run, so I'm officially turning over my WIP for public use. Anyone is welcome to continue off of it, or use it as a reference for a new run. I don't actually have the most recent WIP on this computer, but I'll upload and link it once I get back to my desktop. WIP with properly working death glitch [Insert most recent WIP here] As sack_bot and I have noted, this game has amazing potential through use of both wall climbing by L+R and velocity preservation by L+R. I would like to see a run of this game someday whether or not wall climbing is used (Ideally, I'd like to see both someday since a run using heavy use of wall climbing could be considered a warped run).

There is this graphics plugin for PCSX2 it's really good it's called "Cutie" i don't know if i'm allowed to link it so I'm just going to avoid doing that unless aloud to :/ Cutie would be good to use as it prevents lag with the PS2 emulator better than the PCSX2 Graphics
Unless there is something that went along with the plugin exclusively stating that you can't redistribute it, I think linking it would be fine.

If I have a dump marked (UE) [c][!], is that an OK dump to use? Gens auto-detects it as NTSC, would it be OK to run it as NTSC?
I would imagine it would be safe to use, but just to be safe it probably wouldn't hurt to try and find a dump that didn't have the [c] code on it ([c] indicates that the rom has a bad checksum, but is still a good dump in GoodGen). As for running as NTSC, I'm guessing that because of the (UE) code, that it auto-detects between NTSC and PAL, and for TASing the NTSC version is usually preferred unless there is some regional specific tricks. I would check with a higher-up though, I might not be right on the [c] code issue.

iirc, the intro to SMW in the Brawl Masterpieces is cut out and it starts you out in in YI 2, but I don't know how much time that would cut out compared to the SNES version.

I... have fairly conflicting feelings about this. -Uses a cheat code. -Gameplay that does exists is mundane and not entertaining. -The glitch is actually kind of cute. -Run is short enough that the lacking gameplay doesn't have time to become boring. I think I'll have to give this a 'meh'.
I can't help but agree. It's fun to see that a normal password can be used to glitch the game to credits, but it's like TASing Metroid on the NES using a password to start you at Tourian with an abundance of weapons in tow. On a side note, telling someone to get the hell out because they shared their opinion on a game is kind of like telling someone not to vote on a game because they never played the game before watching the TAS, but that's just my take on the matter.

PSXjin and PCSX-rr are both Playstation 1 emulators. Guitar Hero II and Guitar Hero III are Playstation 2 games.

iirc it's save state and then load state with read-only mode unchecked, much like a lot of emulators on the site.

YES VOTE! </Joke> In all seriousness though, I loved the run. I found the boss fights extremely entertaining, although it makes me wonder what Samus has against standing on the ground. As for the category, I've never watched a low% of Metroid Zero Mission before, so it was a nice change of pace from the any% and 100% runs. Yes vote!

I like the way you did the bonus levels. It felt like you put a lot of time into making them entertaining, but at the same time making them as fast as possible. It was also a nice touch that you balanced out the amount of rings both Sonic and Tails picked up. I imagine doing so might shorten the score counter at the end of the bonus stages count down sooner because the ring counters would end at the same time? I think you should continue if possible. On an unrelated note, I now know why the first zone is called Emerald Hill Zone.

Because Easy Scenario gives you a lot of equipment that you generally have to earn or collect first and a maxed out health bar, it might be interesting to see. At the same time though if you were to make each game all missions run, that would come in at about 3 hours, and maybe around 2h45m if you were to do Mega Man Zero with the mission skip route. Not to mention that either of those would really feel like watching all 4 runs consecutively, because even with having the best equipment from the start, I would imagine it would use all of the same strategies as the independent runs.

From what I can tell, in regards to the Botwoon glitch, if you can escape his room before the wall completely crumbles away he'll still be there. I would imagine that would mean that Botwoon only exists when the wall is there.

On the note of Tekken, I think Soul Calibur II might make for an interesting TAS, especially with Charade as a playable character (Charade fights with a different weapon and style per match). Similarly in Tekken 4, a TAS using Combot would be interesting. I'm sure that Charade or Combot's fighting styles would be manipulable, so even for a run of arcade mode, you could easily fit most of the fighting styles without having to stop for a 2 player match. Other than that, I have no more PS2 ideas as of yet.

Does every incarnation of Super Mario 64 have to be this broken? Needless to say, I was impressed by the new glitches and the fact that you saved a little over 5 minutes off the old run. Yes vote. Edit: [Offtopic] I just noticed that I'm officially a member now [/Offtopic]
