In this case I think that a run that actually plays the game using the characters would be better. Everything in one package so to speak.

I think that taking no damage at all is very impressive and thusly entertaining. There being an achievement for it shouldn't affect this, but it does. It is even more impressive to get a hard to get achievement.

I thought we had this one already. My thanks for remedying this situation. However, I am not sure about your selection of achievements. I was hoping for the no damage at all one. Speaking of achievements, your list is missing a bunch of them that you do get.

Are the addresses the same for the other episodes? I think the game was split into one executable for each episode.

You do know that the official hintbook contains a complete list of all rooms in the game, right? It's a free download, right next to the game itself.

Antipiracy systems tend to involve checking some special condition. The first and most classical is code tampering. Then we have checks for hardware that shouldn't be there, like save ram. Then there is checks for easy to screw up details for copiers like obscure cd tracks and memory mirroring.

I'd imagine that the game has a list of courses and calls a shuffle function on it. One perfectly aimed nop should do the trick. Now if only I had any experience at all doing this.

The thing is, I did attempt to include the sprite and block ids in my code. I have doubts about doing so correctly, but I tried.

One idea that I've had is to add state. Have an input that is nothing but a copy of an output from the previous frame. Also note that the wiki and memory watches are incomplete. There is a lua script with a more detailed understanding of the game memory layout.

I already showed how to add more inputs in my version. Just add to that Inputs array/list/thing. As for "rules", that's for the script to figure out on its own.
