I don't blame you, FW. We're each responsible for our own choices, and we just have to hope that everyone exercises good judgment when they follow our example.

From the Angry Video Game Nerd's review of this game, "Game Over" is probably the good ending. AVGN gives the real ending an F. Funny stuff.

Yes, exactly! Submissions should specify whether or not they color a dinosaur!

I was kidding. Please don't make an AVI. Barney has done enough for the world already.

Oh, don't get me wrong! I didn't think that this would happen every time. I can see the re-record count, so I know how hard you worked on manipulating this into happening. What I meant was that it was humorously dismaying to find out that the possibility even existed to win without playing. In other words, it "could" -- not "would" -- happen.

This was one of my favorite games back in the day. A friend and I spent a few days winning the entire tournament in 2-player mode. It involved picking a team that had the power kick that we liked, and beating the ever loving snot out of the other team to reduce the defense (as you can see, the field is littered with unconscious American players during this speed run). I was kicking myself to find out that we could have just left the game running and walked away! Until half time came... Honestly, I think it's really cool that the luck in this game can be manipulated to win the game without playing, but this movie doesn't win the game. It gets stuck at half time. April Fool's Day submission or not, I would have voted Yes for this if it didn't get stuck at half time. Great game, if you've never played it, folks. This isn't a case of finding an obscure game that could be won without input. This is legitimately a great game, and one worthy of some kind of superplay video. Congratulations on accomplishing this, Chamale.

I take my April Fool's Day jokes very seriously. You have to put some thought into it and produce something unique and interesting, otherwise we'll have 1000 gag submissions every April 1.

I refuse to watch this video on the basis that it's an unlicensed ROM. If a game doesn't have the Nintendo Seal of Quality, that means that Nintendo hasn't received any money for approving this game. I mean, hasn't censored it for sex, violence, profanity and religious references. I mean, hasn't ensured that it's totally awesome and certainly worth $60, and absolutely will not appear in an Angry Video Game Nerd video for being a complete pile of garbage. You know what -- I'm just going to go take some medication now.

I'm still not convinced that this input will complete all 9 games until I see an AVI that shows them all playing at once. On second thought, forget it. I really don't want to watch that much Barney.

* Colors a dinosaur
I think that's the funniest submission criteria ever. I really don't see how any game can be published from now on that doesn't color a dinosaur.

How did I go this many years of my life without knowing that there was a game this cool for Nintendo? With all due respect to the immense amount of effort you put into this run, I second the motion that you really should color all 16 dinosaurs. It's kind of like completing only one boss in a Mega Man game. How did you guys decide which two you were going to TAS? I vote for fullcoldino.png to be the screenshot. Incidentally, because PNG is a compressed format, you can manipulate any image of roughly this size to be 1337 bytes by changing the compression level. Okay, in all seriousness, why can you only color the dinosaurs in orange and purple (and various patterns mixing the two)? I really don't understand the palette choice.

I was wondering if there would be another version of this run for April Fool's Day. I'm surprised to see it improved so much. This run ought to be published because it shows off something amazing. Most people would be call you a liar if you said that you could beat SMB1 without pressing B. In fact, they'd likely be right. Doing incredible -- if not impossible -- things is kind of the point of TASing. Was it entertaining? Darn right it was! As for the debate, it looks like someone suggested that the criteria "completes game without pressing B" is as valid a criteria as "doesn't use warps" or "doesn't collect items" (that specific example wasn't given, but that's the gist of what he was trying to say), and other people seem to be arguing that point for the sake or arguing. I mean, really, who cares if he was serious or not? Does it affect anyone other than him? He's welcome to his opinion, and if you disagree, the most that needs to be said (if anything at all) is "I disagree". It's not worth being offended about. It seems to be an excuse to argue for the sake or arguing. If you really need conflict to keep your day interesting, maybe take it out on a video game and start a TAS, or take up boxing or something.

Nicely done. The camera angles in this version are very nice, and there were none of the "close-up on Mario's ass" shots that give me a headache. I really can't find anything to critique in this one. Easy Yes vote. The SM64 times are starting to catch up with the SMB1 times.

Snow Bros. is one of my all-time favorite arcade games. Despite the vote results, this run is good. It's not going to be accepted, though. This run is faster because you skip 12 levels, but skipping the levels is boring! You really have to play the whole game. If you can produce a fully optimized one player run that's faster than the two player run, it would stand a chance, but I urge you not to bother. As a person who put way too many quarters into this machine, it's a bit painful to watch the NES version. The graphics and enemies are ugly by comparison. I really urge you to TAS the Genesis version instead, which has vastly superior graphics. The Genesis version is about as close as it gets to reproducing the appearance of the arcade game. If you TAS the Genesis version, you also have the advantage of not having to obsolete an existing run. If you put the time and effort into making a Genesis run that has no visible mistakes or lack of optimization, I'll vote Yes to it. This game deserves more respect than it probably gets. Get a friend and play this game on an arcade cabinet or MAME and you'll have a fun-filled hour of high fives and profanity. You chose the right game, but the wrong course and the wrong platform.

Awesome job. After the way this game has been dissected, I wasn't expecting this much improvement. And yes, nice job taking out the other riders. Yes vote.

Voted Yes to the last one, so this is an easy vote. This make Sonic 1 about as exciting as one could expect without spindash and Tails. Well done, folks.

That was interesting. Is it just me, or are the graphics in this game really disappointing for a Genesis game? My first thought was that it looked like a DOS VGA game. The textures are boring and repetitive, and the people don't look as real as I was expecting. For that matter, the whole game is repetitive. Every level looks basically the same, and ends with the same boss fight with slightly different vehicles. Anyway, it did look pretty optimized. There was pretty big lag in Mission 3 when all of the bombs were going off. Was there no way to kill any more guys to deal with that? Come on, Rambo! I paid to see a bloodbath! I enjoy seeing a game get optimally TASed, even if it's not a terribly exciting game, and this game was pretty close to my boring threshold. Assuming that it's optimal, I'll probably vote Yes to this.

Holy crap, how did I miss this? I mean, I was pretty busy in December, but I still checked in once in a while. I can't believe I'm just learning about a 0 star run! The camera was a bit too close to Mario in Bowser 1 for my liking, and that's really the only thing that bothered me. Everything from the camera to Mario's antics was perfect for the rest of the game. BLJing from Bowser 1 to the basement was awesome. Skipping DDD was brilliant (I knew it could be done!). Actually, I was wondering what was going to happen when Mario jumped out of the level. He just cleared the "DDD barrier" on the way out. It would have been interesting if Mario had landed behind it. The jumping in Bowser 3 is just outstanding. A work of art, really. I can't believe that I missed the TAS event of 2007.

Oh man! You guys have to try watching this movie with the US ROM! After Mario's first death, he starts walking backwards without moving. He's moonwalking on the spot! Ahem. Voting No to this one. It's not just slower than the existing run, it's MUCH slower. And even if it wasn't, I still don't see the point.

That was a surprisingly good run. There is a heck of a lot of stuff going on in the later levels. It's too bad the game is entirely weapons-oriented. I'd like to see Robocop and a Terminator slug it out in unarmed combat. Arnie vs. the T-1000 is a classic. Anyway, quite well done. Yes vote.
