For TASing I started out with SNES9x and quickly got used to it because i thought it was easy to configure but aren't they all easy? FCEU is a very good one too. For regular play, any emu will work for me but I just love to bring back good old NES memories with FCEU. I started TASing with GENS9z last month and it seems to be quite good also. VBA seems to be great too but i say it's all about what you are used to play with and feel comfortable playing with. Once you know every option features on an emulator you feel good playing it i guess. But anyways snes9x rules them all........ IMO :)

Turtle shells actually slow you down. I recommend luck-manipulating for a turtle shell on level 1-tower (it can be done), picking it up, going through the warp, and walking into an enemy to eliminate the shell. Of course, this doesn't matter until there is a DS emulator.
The turtle shell will actualy help you in one of the ghost house ( I think ). Usually you have to press the "P", stairs appear and you have to wait for the platform to come down but with the shell you can climb without the stairs. It's quite helpfull at that point :)

No, that movie was terrible
That's what i meant... It sucked but the game was nice!

One thing that will come in handy is the fact that we can reset while recording. :) Oh! Don't worry, if it's too long, there's fast forward options :P Edit: Oops! Reseting is impossible... My bad!

As I was running about at normal speed trying to figure out a way to record after reset I stumbled across a tactic for mojo... actually going frame by frame will look a ton better, but you get the jist of it.. I was using a bunch of cheats, simply so I could save my sanity when re-running the danger room/beginning of the crunch level. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/4117/X-Men%20%28U%297%20%5B%21%5D.gmv[url]
You should verify that link of yours. :)

I think this this game needs to be given a try. Its just a pinball game but its a Mario pinball game. You pass levels beat bosses and acquire items, just like most Mario games. With frame advance it could be very fast so this seems highly TASable. I thought it was a good idea to open a topic. Heres a sort of preview :P http://www.mariopinballland.com/launch/index.html

Sorry if this has already been asked but... Is there or will there ever be a way to soft reset while recording?

I think i found out the way to make Juggernaut leave sooner. When you are damaged enough, he will do one run and leave but to get damaged means losing some time. I am pretty sure there is another way but it is still good to know :) Edit: You need to have ¼ of energy left, for it to work. Maybe if you fall as shortcut two or three times then at Juggy you get hit once ( he takes like ½ of your hp) it could work fast... Ill have to give it a try.

I have begun work on this TAS, however due to lack of experience and lack of attention span I don't know how long it will take me to finish this sucker. Thus far I am at the beginning of the tree-fort in savage land playing as nightcrawler...
I also started TASing this game and I'm having much fun playing it, so far! I think this game has good potential. I just wish that we could use Nightcrawler's teleport more.

my goals are: to take no damage
I have the same goal here except if taking damage is necessary i will have to change that, since fastest time is my ultimate goal.
stickyman05 wrote:
abuse programming errors (the only one i can think of is horrible platform detection, as nightcrawler has a tendency to go through the floor after a jump for no real reason, if i am missing one, please post it or pm me!)
Well... I found a small glitch that IMO will not be necessary. There is a way to jump on the spikes without taking any damage. As seen here

to only use iceman as a backup (only when absolutely necessary, however i don't know if that would be considered "lame", so input is appreciated.)
I agree that Iceman could be useful at some times, maybe even some other members could be useful, like for the boss battles, but i don't know for sure if it would be fast or interesting to watch.

Definite yes! Taking damage with the rats in the pipe was very clever and should have been thought of before. I also didnt see where all this time was shaved... Maybe the monkey fight along with the sandman? I dont know.. Did you start this before or after mmbossman posted his run? Anyway, nice work and nice screenshot!

While flirting Roms to find one that suits me, i fell on this game and remembered that i had played it when i was a kid (Of course that helps). So i checked it out a little... I found out that it is not the most popular games ever but i am not that much into popular games, since everyone jumps on them like savage beasts! You can play 2p but i personally don't recommend it. You have a choice between Cyclops, Gambit, Nightcrawler and Wolverine. They are all slow as hell except for Nightcrawler. If you could use 2 of the same caracters, i would recommend a 2p but you can't so dont. They all have super powers but Nightcrawler is the fastest with is agility and is teleport ability. With Gambit, i heard that there is a glitch to skip some levels.. You have to press "A" when the screen becomes dark after you enter a level... If the game is too slow which i dont think would be the case, i would use the glitch but like i said _With Nightcrawler the game could be freaking nice to watch!_ I am currently working on two games at the moment but this definitly deserves to be TASed! Edit: I tried out the glitch to skip levels and it did not work for me although it does glitch (freezes) but it did not skip any levels, maybe i'm not doing it right?
