As anticipated, a marvelous display of the valor of the Norse. I was especially interested to see the last four levels, and was not disappointed, they were truly deserving of the legacy of this masterwork game. I have noticed many small tricks that would be difficult but perhaps possible for humans, and many routes through levels that I never thought of before. Because I am working on another game right now, I have not the time to look in detail, but I expect your work here will inspire better techniques in RTA. I hope eventually to perfect the human run to the best I possibly can, and give it another display at a future marathon! It certainly deserves an appearance that will do it more justice. You have also honored Mike, Chansey, and myself with mention in your notes. I bow low to you for this honor and hope to repay it someday.

Theoretically double wall clip trick can be useful for RTA, but practically unlikely someone will able to train execute it consistently.
See, there you are. There's a trick I think can possibly be performed by a human. And before you say "unlikely," be advised we said "unlikely" many times ourselves and were wrong. There are setups for tricks like this. Though I doubt we can save all 12 seconds on that trick, more likely 4-6 seconds because setups cost time. It's possible we will be unable to do the trick, or at least to make it save time, but all we can do is try! :)

Mike and I are becoming increasingly excited at your progress. This is beautiful; I can't wait to pick apart your video and find things to ask about, so we can bring as many of these tricks as possible into the RTA world. It's a bit scary, though - a lot of these tricks look extremely dangerous, and it was already brutally difficult to avoid losing minutes to deaths; in a year of running the game I had only a single deathless run. I have a feeling a deathless run of this game with all the strats we can muster is going to be a dream within a dream.

I am also very interested if anything you know about or discover while making this TAS is useful for human play - but I'll wait until you are finished making the TAS, and look at it and ask you questions. :)

Patashu pointed me to this thread. Looks like you already know a lot about the tricks in this game, but if you need any information, feel free to ask, I've run this game 1p2c in RTA for over a year.

Necroposting because there have been a lot of new developments in the first Lost Vikings game in the last year! I ran the game in 2-player mode at this year's Summer Games Done Quick, and many of the strategies I used were gleaned from Ouzo's TAS. Between my own efforts as well as a lot of work by Miketheviewer and Chansey_NES and a little help from Yagamoth, we have discovered a lot of new tricks, glitches, and route possibilities for 2-player, and some of it can be applied to 3-player as well. I have contacted Ouzo to see if he's interested in resurrecting this project; if anyone else is interested, feel free to PM me for info - if you post in this thread I may miss it, as I don't frequent these boards... yet.
