Is he going to submit those? They would make a great addition to the site.
These TASes have been around for a while. While they'd be nice on TASvideos, there are known timesavers that aren't used in the non-spin TAS, which might get it some no votes. Would be a meh from me, but that's just because I know the amount of effort put into making racing game TASes.

Not really, just been trying to plan ahead my eggs for the next couple of levels :/ I blame L4D because it's too addictive for me :( *goes to work on YIDS TAS*

Mind telling me what address you found then that you believe to be speed? I found my address using the following method Not moving, address equal to 0 Move right until max visible speed, greater than previous value Not moving, less than previous value Not moving, address equal to 0 Move left until max visible speed, less than previous value Not moving, more than previous value Not moving, address equal to 0 Result is 0237E5E1 for 1-1 for the speed value, I got x-coordinate differently, but there seems to be multiple of them, some seemingly more accurate, the one i'm using for 1-1 is 0237E616 It gives me the same result each time, so if you have a different result, please tell me :P edit: did i mention i tested to see if it was the speed value by setting it at a fixed value of 50? I went flying to the right.

From what I'm able to tell from the X-position memory value and the speed value, it only slows you down on steep slopes, not the shallow ones. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but after testing for a bit, I didn't seem to be slowed down at all by the small, shallow slopes.

Hmm, actually, after further checking, I'm in the wrong on this one. Baby coins are tracked, guess I'll be redoing a small bit of 1-1 and all I got of 1-2 so far.

I've been going over the goals of a "100%" run, and I guess the main problem I have with collecting the baby coins is that they aren't required to get 100 score at the end of each level, like I said before. Collecting the baby coins unlocks something outside of adventure mode (the mini-games), and adds some rather pointless backtracking. I think the 100% should go by the score at the end of the level alone to be entirely honest.

Well, I have no problem going and collecting all of the baby coins, but the problem with it is that it'll make it so I have to go back to some levels again when I've unlocked the specific baby for that levels baby coin. They unlock minigames, but the game doesn't count them towards the score at the end of each level. Guess that creates a discussion on whether or not the 100% should include the baby coins or not.

I'm only going for 100% in terms of the score at the end of each level, the baby coin doesn't contribute towards that, so I didn't collect it.

I've been working on a 100% TAS of this as of late, and i think lightblueyoshi has been working on any any% of it so far. Here's an example of what the 100% will look like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WcBY-Z-yUI8&fmt=18

I must have fallen asleep for 22 minutes, as I remember having this weird dream where Chrono Trigger was just a bunch of screen manipulation for some really random glitches and sequence breaks. Yes from me, should probably go into an any% glitched though.

well, progress has been slow, but with good reason. i have been talking with kyrsimys about a few things involving world 5, as this world is most important in terms of this is basically going to decide how much faster this run is going to be compared to the other run on the site. we know for sure it is impossible to jump through the blue diagonal lined walls from what me, tompala, and kyrsimys have tested. we are still deciding on the exact amount of music boxes that we need (all items are being bought in world 5, posisbly world 4) we are still deciding on whether or not getting the feather and buying a flower for later on in the w4 coin collecting level is a wise choice, kuribos shoe might be a nice alternative. getting kuribos shoe from a hb is faster than getting a music box to skip and getting it from an enemy (15 or so frame difference between buying music box and facing hammer bros) as of right now, i am finished level 3 of world 5, right beside a mushroom house, but chances are i might be going to world 4 instead to buy the items, because the first hb thats in the way isnt a nuisance because i need to fight him anyway

Well, i could put my old shitty run that has oedo castle finished up, but it isnt worth anything because it has alot of mistakes in it before getting to oedo castle, so i dont see the reason to. Either way, im at the front of oedo castle in my improved version, so wait a few days and i should have oedo castle done, and maybe the first impact fight too.

or you know, taking damage and manipulating health from enemies works just as well too... especially considering the length of the animation when you get the fortune dolls.

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/551589849/Mario%20Adventure%20v2.fcm There's a free WIP for you guys, I didn't really plan on putting up a new WIP until I finished world 5, but because I'm getting my new computer today, I pretty much have to. (btw, the spellchecker thing sucks)

Nitsuja, i was wondering if you could maybe explain the SM style charging in a little more detail? I might need to use it in my Mario Adventure run.

not much tips i can give except that you have to be at running speed, and it might take quite a few rerecords to get it to work.
