As long as the previous movie has been published, this big improvement (% to the length of the previous movie) definitely deserves a Yes.

What about a "maximum/extra levels" tag (opposite to "single level") for movies like these: http://tasvideos.org/176M.html http://tasvideos.org/561M.html * http://tasvideos.org/1334M.html This tag should only be applied to movies that play optional levels not required to complete a game. Not equal to "Forgoes warps". * Such a movie may instead deserve a "full/all levels" tag, though.

You all forgot this one: SNES Romancing SaGa (JPN v1.0) in 02:14.77 by T.M. (aka. knbnitkr) According to the submission comments, the author was lucky enough to beat a RPG in about 2 minutes.

This game looks like a slower cousin of NES Ninja Gaiden games and it works. My only question so far about this movie is whether the lags can be reduced. Nonetheless, Yes vote.

So I missed that stealthy page. My bad.

By these guidelines, the AoS publication is incorrectly labeled and should be fixed.
I assume that you were talking about the "100% souls" run, and then I suppose it was the "Best ending" versus "100% completion" under debate. In this game, "Best ending" is automatically achieved with the "100% souls" collection and Chaos (the final boss) beaten. So the "100% completion" category fits. The problem is, as a tradition of Metroid-like Castlevania games, "100% completion" just suggests "100% map percentage". Thus tagging the AoS publication with "100% completion" can be misleading to quite a few people. Out of the consideration, I added "Best ending" instead of "100% completion" without knowing the two tags were mutual exclusive. I don't oppose applying the "100% completion in common sense" for this publication, though. BTW, we now have the contradictory "Maxim no warps" publication that clearly uses warps:

There are 3 types of what you would call "warps". -Door Warps (backdash through a door, and warp to a middle area of that level.) -Wall Sinking (where you whip launch into the wall, and zip up, and warp to extremely far away places seemingly at random.) -Going through walls with whip launching. Door warps were used very infrequently, and only to prevent back tracking.
My suggested solution is here.

I've got a question: do "warps" include or exclude "unintended warps resulted from glitches"? I've found it problematical without a clear definition of "warps".

My suggestion for recategorizing the two published Maxim runs: * This run: simply "Maxim" (or "Maxim version" if you prefer a longer name) * The other run: "Maxim warp glitch" The encodes may need updating if the movies are recategorized, though.

I changed the movie tags. The reasons for some arguable changes: * +Best ending: Mina Hakuba walked up to Soma Cruz in the ending scene, which could only be triggered by 100% souls collection and usually regarded as the sign of the best ending of this game. * +Uses warps: Uses warping rooms to save time. * +Forgoes time-saving glitches: Forgoes all "warping glitches".

Better than last time. My voting is still postponed to see if the author is going to improve it soon again.

Yes vote. I am looking forward to another improvement though.

I'm glad to see the lag fixed.
For this particular game, DeSmuME 0.9.5 has significantly less lags then 0.9.4+ with "Fix ARM Cycle Count" enabled but more than 0.9.4+ with "Fast Fetch-Execute" enabled. Compared to the real DS hardware, 0.9.5 is still laggier. True Draclua's flame-drop attack should be less laggy, for instance.

I don't see any problem preventing me from voting Yes right now. And let alone that we have to accept this because this site politically deserves more PCE movies.

You are correct. I must have played in the bossrush mode too much. But I wonder if using Manticore can be faster now, as Manticore can hit all parts of Legion. It's very MP-consuming, though.

This movie looks pretty unoptimized to me. Please think again about wall-jumps/grappling-hooks, and maybe try to find out why some tough enemy can be killed in one punch at times. Voting postponed though.

Uh, my strong Yes vote. Then... a rating of 9.0/8.5 instead of 10.0/10.0 because: * As a matter of fact, "rare drops" like Final Sword are much rarer than most of the souls. Imp surely helps a lot, as I expect a rerecord count of 30-40k according to your pre-Imp WIPs. This run shines where you manipulate multiple drops in a row. * This run is not glitched out. Entertainment downs. * You neglected some flaws that had been spotted back in your WIPs. Technique downs. * Luck manipulations in this run were not optimized. For instance, you should have manipulated Legion to get close to the door (I'm sorry about having failed to spot it back then). Technique downs. I wonder whether you could have got a sub-27-minute movie if you hadn't "traded speed for entertainment". After all, your movie will make this game the third to have more than 3 published movies. @pirate_sephiroth: Hey dude, what are we doing with our "glitched all souls run" right now?

Good to see a bad game get owned. This game is worth laughing at, and your run makes it even more hilarious. Technique-wise, I think you were doing very well. Yes vote now.

We need more descriptive tags like: Colors a dinosaur Record elephant SMW Syndrome ADHD etc. And you won't define "heavy"? EDIT: After editing a few movie tags, I figured out that the "Heavy glitch abuse" tag should be reset for all movies in one shot so that movies editors can tag 5% of the published movies rather than untag 90% of them.

Sorry for my kind of superfluous criticism, but I think the glitchy Mario trophy could look a bit glitchier.
We can just glitch Mario's sprite with contineous ASCII characters like "EFGH".

I don't know much about the game. It would be nice if I had more information to use. I just want to know how much faster you are than me though. It would help as a goal for the next WIP.
I don't have the movie files now. I lost them because I didn't think broken files are bachkupworthy. But my instinct for TASing tells me yours can be improved. The onlt thing I remember is that Socket's running speed can be optimized in sub-pixel level.

I don't think you understand. "Manipulates luck" is not used to distinguish between different movies of the same game. It's used (at least in theory) to tell people if some run heavily manipulates luck. Since not all games lend themselves to this, not all movies can get it. Thus for example a TAS of Super Mario Bros does not get the tag because there's no heavy luck manipulation possible in the game, but a TAS of Simon's Quest does get the tag because there's heavy luck manipulation.
In fact, luck manipulation in Super Mario Bros is much more difficult to do than that in Simon's Quest.

Actually, I had been working on this before I found out that my WIP was desynched on the first level. I failed to make any valid backup to recover from, and then I halted this project. However, I didn't cancel it. After watching your WIP, I suppose it is slower than my previous WIP due to its looking less precise, but I can't provide more detailed info without looking closer. (I've been working on / watching too many WIPs at the moment, and I don't feel like watching any more. Sorry.)
