Curently the search function only searches for topics on a given subject. Is it possible to search for specific things in each topic (for example, the OoT thread is so huge that it would take forever to find a specific trick just by browsing)

Snes9x has built in avi capture that's infinitely better than snagit

I could just record a tas and then play it back, while recording myself with a webcam as I pretend to play the game.

He's probably a 30-something guy living with his parents :P ... j/k But I'm baffled at this rapid pace as well. Better stay up extra late tonight.

There's always the option of a DVD recorder with HD.

Thanks everyone so far. And laughing_gas, I don't think it's faster. I'm just visualising it now, and the fact that you need to go around the fence seeems enough to cause it to be slower, even when optimised...
I timed it in Mupen and it was only 30 frames slower than hot-foot-it-into-the-volcano as shown in the tas. With optimization it can definitely become faster than the current method. Also, is it possible to use one of the two signposts in the beginning of LLL to BLJ in a style similar to this, perhaps gaining enough speed to bypass the fence?

Perhaps red hot log rolling is a better choice than hot foot it into the volcano, from what I've tested this method, combined with this one (both are very unoptimized) can probably be a second faster, with full optimization. edit: not that I'm asking you to redo the run or anything, just to keep it in a list of improvements for v4.

Doesn't sound like it would be too useful, unless something really interesting can come out of it.

If he's gonna submit to sda, why not just buy a copy of the game? SOTN shouldn't go for more than $60 on ebay.

Umm, I believe he's talking about an unassisted run.
Over at sda he was inquiring whether emulator runs were allowed.

PSX rerecording doesn't exist yet. Or rather, a reliable rerecording emulator for psx doesn't exist.

I don't see why that's needed, as it will constantly change as new movies with no ratings are published.

Dude, comi if you can't handle being on the wall of shame then you have bigger issues to fix. And it's fun to make fun and insult other people.

I've tried not dying before, and it came out to something like 30 frames slower, so perhaps shooting the fighters has something to do with it.

The n64 will probably my top system forever, if only because of perfect dark, but goldeneye, super smash bros, DK64, SM 64, SF 64, and rogue squadron provided a nice complement.

Not as close as we would be if you made effort to learn coding.

It's because people like you are always asking why there are so few N64 tases when they could be making it themselves.
