Side-by-side N64/BizHawk comparisons: - This one is synced from timer start https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zsQ07FSwPQ - This one is synced from title screen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkDxpneA4i4 Note that BizHawk's timer seems to run slower than real-time, having desynced by about two seconds at the end. I'm not sure if it's something wrong on my end, I just used the movie clock lua script and dumped the movie with BizHawk's builtin AVI encoder.

If this run is 4:19 and the previous 4:21, how is it 5 seconds faster? It rather confuses me.
The previous run was timed using Mupen64, whereas this one was timed with BizHawk. I just tried timing the previous run with BizHawk, and it comes out to about 4:24. I think BizHawk's N64 core just has slower loading times/lag, for some reason.

A few things that have been pointed out by various people in the SM64 TAS Discord: - This submission includes a few timesaves (that weren't in the previous submission) which are not mentioned in the description. This page contains a detailed listing of every timesave since the first finished TAS (any improvements after 2016-11-24 haven't been submitted until now). - With some of the improvements mentioned above, this TAS is optimized for console time rather than emulator time. In Bowser in the Fire Sea, the camera mode is switched back to Mario-cam. This loses 5 input frames but allows for lag reduction in Dire Dire Docks, which overall saves time on console. Emulators do not have the same lag as N64, so this choice loses time there. Compared to the previous submission, if I'm not mistaken, this one is 5.42 seconds faster (by console time). I believe the apparent timesave looking at the TASVideos timings seems smaller due to the discrepancy of timing with Mupen vs. BizHawk.
