Very nice! I appreciate the effort that goes into this run, where there's a ratio of roughly 5 rerecords per frame! Thanks, also, for sharing your story about how you attacked this run back in December 2010. It was interesting to see that ultimately you got better at the game by playing stages out of order.

I finally got a chance to check this out. This is a strange Dragon Warrior knockoff indeed. The battle system is pretty nifty. It was nice to hear music that was distinctly from Kemco (XYZ mentions Mickey Mouse 3, and I was also reminded of Shadowgate and Uninvited). It wasn't clear what all the plot things were needed for, though. For instance, it seems the Dog's Eyes only get you the Horn, which gets you the Broom, which gets you the ability to warp to places you've been. Given how long it takes to even do these steps to get the broom, is the broom actually worth it? Also, although it may not be your fault, the run just doesn't have the polish that a lot of good RPG TASes have. The pauses to avoid battles are very pronounced. Some of the battles look really bad (like the fights against Slug and against the final boss), where you miss plenty of attacks. The music, while good, gets old fast, especially the battle music. I'm not sure what to vote right now, but I'm leaning towards Meh. Even if the run is impressive to people who know the game, it doesn't really come off as such to a casual viewer.

I don't know if this run should obsolete any others (to keep the number of movies lower), but I did like it! It was long, but each piece was good. I vote Yes.

This got a little old for me, but it was impressive, and it was short enough to not get boring (unlike the "Bubble Boy" I game I remember seeing in the submission queue some time ago). I'll give this a Yes.

I found this pretty amusing! It's quite evident how much health management plays a role here. I wish there were a little more clawing and fighting, but oh well. Also, the soundtrack really reminds me of Treasure Master (which is a good thing in this case). Yes vote.

First off, thank you very much, feos, for the encode! It looks quite good, and I wouldn't have been able to watch the run without it. This was a fun run. Most of the graphics are more humorous than the NES counterparts (probably because of the better graphics quality), such as Arthur's goofy running stride and the awkward shuffle of the Red Arreemers. I also like how Arthur seems less gangly in this version when he loses his armor. On a technical level, this looks quite good. It's cool to see all the damage shortcuts, such as in Level 6. The level 6 boss fight looks the least optimal but also the most impressive. I vote Yes for this to be published. I can't quite decide, though, if I want this to be published alongside the NES run or obsoleting it. I was in favor of having Arcade obsolete Genesis for Ghouls and Ghosts, but the gameplay was much more similar between those two games. Here, the rapid-fire tricks make this a different enough run, I think, from the NES counterpart.

This game is basically like Rolling Thunder, which does have a published run. However, most of this game's differences make it more interesting. Pros, compared to Rolling Thunder: * Lack of pants ;-) * Midair control * The hostage gameplay mechanic * Much more intricate stage design Cons: * No silly S & M cutscenes * Damage boosting is less helpful * Less need for ammo management All in all, I'd say this is a publishable game. I can't comment much on this run from a technical standpoint, though. I also haven't watched ECCO's run.

It's sort of a shame that Megaman 10 and Majora's Mask fall in the same category. They're both amazing, and they're my top 2 in the category. If they could both win, that would be great... oh well.

Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.)
