It looks like you accidentally submitted this movie three times. The duplicates have been removed. Anyway, as people have shown, this is not the quickest time possible. Even with PAL timing, we have this cancelled submission, which is faster than 5 minutes. Welcome to the site, but I recommend that you do some research to see what other movies are out there. You won't usually make your best run on your first try.

100% runs for Castlevania games can be really hit-or-miss as far as entertainment goes. For instance, this CotM submission was rejected, whereas this Symphony of the Night movie got rave reviews for the most part.

Nice going, sksk1990! This looked like a pretty well-done run, and the ceiling glitch was a nice touch. I found the run fairly hard to follow, though, since I couldn't tell ahead of time which items were supposed to go into the decorated room (I haven't played this game before, but I've watched the published runs). I also just figured out that I really don't like the music of this game, and that makes the longer runs more annoying. The play quality and movement is excellent, though. I'm not sure what to vote yet, for the same reason Sir VG mentioned. Good job on the run though, nonetheless.

the mirror room is a genuinely cool platforming idea, I'm surprised I've never seen it used in a game before
To a lesser extent, a mirror gimmick like that occurs in Ardy Lightfoot. There, arrows are flying at you which you have to dodge, sometimes in the foreground and sometimes only in the mirrors. This game had a cooler use of mirrors, though. Thanks, canar, for the temporary encode! (I don't have the ability to watch DS runs via emulator.) I'm actually fairly impressed by this run, especially once the player starts running. There's quite a lot of variety with the different dresses. It's especially funny to see the use of stilts for such small amounts of time, as well as the playaround with the mallet during downtime. The only concern I have, before voting, is the use of the password. With Biker Mice From Mars, that password made sense, since the same five tracks are repeated six times without a password. In that game, using the password didn't remove any of the game's variety, essentially. Here, though, you're skipping five stages. Even if they'd be boring stages, I worry that we've got a "slippery slope" argument here; if we condone password usage here, how do we avoid abuse of password usage elsewhere?

Glad to have amused. Good luck to you, Ferret Warlord! I'm pretty sure there are some more animal runs out there waiting to be done. (The most serious ones, probably, are Rockin Kats and Rescue Rangers... I think Aglar was looking for somebody to help with Rescue Rangers 2 player.)

jlun2, I think franpa means that using the walljump glitch to get onto the ceiling is more boring than getting on the ceiling the way the stage intends. Certainly the intended route is slower, but it shows off more of the ideas behind the game. I don't know whether it's ultimately a good idea to make a run that attempts to show off more of the game's tricks, or even how that could be done as a playaround. (See, for instance, Genisto's original run of "Air" and the controversy surrounding it.) Also, there seem to be three key arguments behind this being a bad game for a TAS: 1) The graphics 2) The design behind the puzzles (similar to complaints about Kaizo Mario and such) 3) The fact that a run aiming for speed ignores most of what makes the level design appealing (the same issue was heavily debated with the run of Air / Air 2)

Wow. The choppy sounds, bouncy character, and ridiculous text boxes make me think this is more like Commander Keen than Star Wars. This was pretty spiffy, however, with avoiding death traps and making a mockery of bosses. Yes vote, and nice first run!

Very nice! You finished this pretty quickly. I approve of including stage #7 in the route, as you mention. The run turned out pretty stylish. The only thing I'd question is that in the stage with the fourth boss (the double-headed guy), you make a lot of stops to kill enemies. I figure you did that to have full health for the boss battle. Is full health necessary to do the jingle skip that you do? All in all, great job, especially in the practice rooms. Those look particularly fluid! Congratulations on your first submitted run, and I vote Yes.

Just finished watching this, and it really isn't as bad as everyone seems to be making out. Imagine what a TAS of an RPG typically looks like: all battles run from except a few plot battles that are beaten with cheap tactics or luck manipulation, leaving basically the entire run as cutscenes, fetchquests, and minigames. And isn't that just what this game is? As a benefit, the plot makes rather more sense than the average RPG's. Voting meh, as per my policy on voting on RPG runs that skip or power through all the interesting bits (in this case, there are no interesting bits to skip, but I don't see why that should make a difference). The bits of the game that are done (all of it), whilst a little repetitive and uninspired, are done pretty efficiently and precisely, and I don't see why the run shouldn't be published so that fans of the game can watch it; it's not like we're likely to get a better run of the same game any time soon (unless it gets frame-warred). I really don't think popularity of a game should factor into a decision on whether to publish a TAS, nor how fun the game is to play in unassisted conditions.
You bring up a really good point about the comparison with RPG runs. However, the fact that RPG runs skip a lot of the game is important, at least to me. I enjoy watching an RPG run with the knowledge that the game should honestly take way longer than the speedrun takes. This game does have more challenge than I originally thought, but it's still overly simplistic with a slow-moving character. Also, this game doesn't have anywhere near the amount of luck manipulation that makes a first-class RPG run. Luck manipulation effectively makes or breaks an RPG.

HappyLee, you've gotten very good at using entertaining stunts in a Mario run mixed with incredible precision. Great job! I really appreciate the extra effort you used for things like landing on two enemies at the same time. The skidding-music in 8-4 was also great. Just one minor note: you mean to say you "stomp" the enemies instead of "stamp" them.

jlun2, I think the spacebar issue is important enough that BOTH this run and that one should be uncanceled. It's worth having more discussion on this, especially since lots of DOS / Windows games provide ways for people to speed up the game. (For instance, NitroGenesis's run of "The Amazing Spider-Man" uses a faster-than-default PC setting, I believe.) I think that the faster speed means that a viewer doesn't notice the traps as much. As such, I prefer the other one. However, I'm still happy to have this for publication, if it turns out that judges prefer the faster run. Great job with making multiple runs in such a short span of time, by the way!

I am actually fairly amused by My Little Pony. I watched a couple episodes, and it has its own charm. Even the memes around it can be funny once in a while. That being said, this game is a "No" vote on its own merits. It's basically a big fetch quest and some unimpressive minigames, at slow paces. I'm quite sad that Hasbro thought this would be something good to market to kids, since these kinds of games dumb you down by providing no real semblance of a challenge. Thank you, Ferret Warlord, for taking some time to go and create another cute animal run with some bits of humor, but this game is just ridiculously bad in the unpublishable kinds of ways.

That's pretty much how I feel. As I mentioned in the previous submission for this, it would be amusing if the publication description could link to a movie of somebody struggling through the game (akin to the "Super Mario Frustration" video). Yes vote.

Thank you for your encodes, Lex and antd! I was amused enough by this video, having struggled with Syobon Action myself. I liked how in the last stage, you manage to jump through a ceiling and run on the ceiling early, which makes it look like you took a cheap way through the level when in fact, getting on the ceiling is required to beat the stage, usually done by bouncing off a guy from a question block. This movie is short enough, and the game infamous enough, that I think it deserves to be published. It would be cool if the movie's description had links to videos of people struggling through the game and its many quirks (though then I imagine we'd have to get permission from the owners of the videos to link to their page...)

Thanks for the encode, antd! I'm not sure entirely how I feel about this run. Some boss variety is nice when fighting as X, but the intro boss and Shadow Devil just become boring with the extra phases. The fight against Zero was funny. The 8 boss refights were not bad, but the repeated use of Nova Strike gets a little old. Also, X has a really big blaster in this game :-) All things considered, I feel like the best feature of this run is that it gives us a nice short run to show off the Ultimate Armor. Outside of that, though, I find it fairly uninteresting compared to the X5 runs we already have. My vote is a positively-tinted Meh.

while still barely beating a single game run.
The submission comments for the single-game run explain that, actually. In that run, Mothrayas chose not to get Zero's saber, which costs some major time in the boss refights. In this multi-game run, agwawaf gets Zero's saber along with the Golden Armor, which gives him the bad ending. So if Mothrayas had chosen to get the saber, he would've beaten this run's time. Still, the speed of this movie is impressive. Also, Mukki, nice job with the description of your judgement. Using multiple paragraphs may help, but I appreciate the detail provided.

Thanks, everyone, for the clarifications! Seeing that, I like the look of the main character effectively doing "slalom drilling" to weave between the time powerups. This gets a Yes vote.

Those are pretty awesome discoveries. It'll take some time to make this run, but I'm sure the results are well worth it! Good luck on your restart!

You did a nice job with this, Randil, but honestly as someone who's never played the game, I'm not sure I really get the appeal. It looked to me, at first, like you could pretty much just spam the drill button to get down to the bottom fast (sure, it's more efficient to go through bigger blocks of the same color, but it didn't look necessary if you wanted to merely beat the game). Looking at GameFAQs told me that there's also the challenge of having enough air and not letting falling blocks land on you. With that in mind, the run looks more impressive, but I'm still not sure I see the main challenge. I'll hold off from voting for now. I'm inclined to say Yes since the play is fast and colorful.

Alright, I just watched the WIP. This looks pretty nice so far! The snake-riding in the third stage was cool, and I didn't know you could climb the statue like you did in the second temple stage. You have some nice style, especially in the practice rooms. First off, I don't think you have to credit Angerfist as an author if you don't copy and paste his input. He should certainly be thanked in your comments. However, if he didn't actually make any portion of this run, and he inspired only some portions of this, then I think it's safe to not have him as a coauthor. (Angerfist, if I'm wrong about this, feel free to let me know.) Second, it seems like you have fairly unfortunate timing in the first practice room. You arrive at most of the ceiling spike things just a little too late. Part of this seems to be because you delay by striking an arrow (there's a section with three arrows overhead). Could you possibly destroy arrows with an earlier backwards jump to cause less delay? Third, the fly boss looked pretty good to me... It didn't seem like making him turn around on each hit would save much time. I have a couple other boss suggestions. For the two-headed dragon, could you keep the two heads in reach more often so that your sword hits both in one swing? And with the eyeball at the end of your WIP, it seems like you should let me fall more first before it attacks, so that the scroll lands more quickly. Fourth, did you manage to obtain a health refill off an arrow in the practice room? That was pretty surprising! Anyway, nice job, and keep it up! Is the game easy to hex-edit?

Wow, you're really close to the end of the run! Keep it up! With your latest work on this game, you've taken what's normally a grinding-heavy repetitive game and made it genuinely surprising.

Thanks, Jungon, for posting as well in the published movie's comments, so that I could get led here. As the person who originally noticed a missing stage in the current 100% run, I'm quite happy to hear you've been doing a new run! I would personally choose to do all stages, even if a stage doesn't have any items in it. The game has enough variety in the stages that I think it would still be pretty entertaining. I'm also really excited to hear about the glitches and all. If you want to release WIPs, I'm happy to watch them over for feedback, though I don't know a whole lot about TASing. The glitch for falling through the floor sounds pretty nifty too... if you're having trouble getting it to work, maybe you can get a bot or LUA script to help out with it? (Sort of like IdeaMagnate's Pulseman run)

Alright, fair enough. It turns out I needed vba 24 to sync this movie, although the old movie on the US ROM worked with vba 21. Instead of using a bomb on the last boss, you kick him through a solid wall. That works. Now the submission needs to be updated with the new run.

Nice work, MUGG! Honestly, I wouldn't redo the run on the (J) ROM just to have a final boss level with no other enemies. First of all, the boss fight isn't really all that interesting on its own... I think it's entertaining in this run to see you basically bounce on a little guy's head. Secondly, without little enemies to fight, you can't get a bomb, and the bomb finish is the coolest part of the final boss fight. I think it's a good idea to have this run aim for in-game time, which also makes it have comparable goals to the NES Kung Fu run. A couple places looked sort of sloppy because of it, though. For instance, you mentioned that lag doesn't affect the in-game timer, but the very end of Stage 3 looks pretty bad with the enemy cluster lagging the game. I'm ok with it if that's what keeps the big enemy from spawning, though. Anyway, I liked this, especially the health management with little energy drink powerups. Yes vote.
