I just found this thread after the Crazy Castle secret levels submission. It's great to hear that people have found amusing glitches! I probably can't check out the WIPs today, but I will get to it, and in the meantime, I hope I can be useful encouragement.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... Very nice! This is definitely more fun than the full-game run, since it's both harder and shorter. My favorite bit may be a point in S4, when you go up and down a vertical pipe while a green Sylvester is chasing you. Logically, it should make sense that you two would hit each other as you pass in the pipe, but... oh well. Yes vote. I'm also really excited to hear about Startropics 2!

Nice post, p4wn3r. You raise a really good point about the difference between being entertaining and being publication-worthy. At this point, I don't really know where this movie stands in regards to this difference, though. I did like watching this movie (thanks for also providing the youku link, x2poet!). I think the combat moves quickly, and the random teams keep it fresh. However, as Mister Epic points out, there are fewer interesting combos you can do when your combo meter only goes to level 3. Also, fairly little of this feels tool-assisted to an untrained eye, with the exception of the Athena vs. Clarke fight and the AI manipulation. Nice job, x2poet, with making this run! I'm just not entirely sure if the run shows off superhuman playing in a way that our published fighting game runs do. If more of this run had surprising gimmicks like Athena vs. Clarke, I'd be happy to vote Yes. I think I'll vote later; it will be either Meh or Yes.

Haha! This game seems pretty priceless! Awesome features about this run include: * Sumo wrestlers! Especially ones with flame attacks! * Shortest run on site (except for Barney's Hide and Seek or Alden's Minesweeper run) * Probably the largest ratio of ending cinematics to movie length That being said, this doesn't have redeeming gameplay, and I'm voting No. However, I love that you made this submission :-)

Wow! Very nice submission comments, especially when you explain the difference that the difficulty choice makes. This is an incredible effort. Yes vote. As for screenshot suggestions that don't involve the final boss, how about a screenshot from an area where you have Eirika among a swarm of enemies and barely surviving with 1 health or so? For instance, you could get a screenshot among all the enemies near the throne in Chapter 16.

Not a big change from the currently published run, but a nice improvement indeed! However, there is one issue. You don't get the same ending as the currently published run. In fact, I think you die before the boss does, so you get the Game Over screen instead of the proper ending. That should be fixed before I can vote Yes on this.

Hooray for extra glitches! Anoobis, you've definitely shown extraordinary talent at finding wallzips and such in many different games. It's a shame that so much of this run is hex-edited, instead of redoing to find more improvements, but this is still a very sizable improvement and a good job. Yes vote.

Thanks, guys, for all your hard work for getting encodes with sound! (I believe it's primarily Lex who did most of the encoding work?) Also, congratulations, Nitrogenesis, for once again starting runs on a new system! As for the game, I'm not sure why the reaction has been as negative as it has. It's not a spectacular game, but it has nice action elements and some good variety for its length. The run has precision maneuvers, and everything's done within 5 minutes. This is definitely a more interesting puzzle game than, say, Kwirk (though I do like that game too), which got some pretty good reception back in the day. Nice going, and Yes vote!

Sorry to bump this, but the VBM file currently attached with this publication is the one that asks for a BIOS file but shouldn't. (At least, it was asking me for a GBA BIOS file in VBA 21.) Hoandjzj: Very impressive! You TAS quite quickly. I wouldn't worry right now about fixing up the speed booster parts right away... would it be possible to hex-edit in improvements with the speed booster? Also, this is an amazing hack. The gameplay is just good, and it really has similar depth to the original game. I'd say that, by far, this is the best SM hack I've seen. In fact, from seeing how different your two runs have been, I'd say the hack has enough variety to make a 100% items run interesting and publishable alongside an any% run as well! Oh, and by the way, according to the link provided for the hack, the author of the hack is SB.

This movie is very impressive. Once it gets going, the Pokemon just keep rolling in at an incredible rate. Part of the fun, for me, was trying to keep track of what was caught already. It was also fun to see different areas of the game that any% runs wouldn't visit. Although this run does need use of the fast-forward button, it certainly belongs on the site. Yes vote.

The screenshot, if possible, should show something that would make the knowledgeable player question what's going on. People keep bringing up the Skarmory battle, and that's a pretty good example of something suitable. I really like the picture of Magneton flinching, but I think that may be too much of a spoiler.

Wow, that's a pretty eventful 12 seconds! Nice job again, MiezaruMono! You seem to really like these short, bot-driven RPG runs (though I also liked your Batman run and your Lost Levels runs too).

Glitcher: An encode is now available in the submission thread. I don't know who made it, but whoever you are, thank you very much! To echo the crowd, this run was incredible. It seems that the 3D Zelda games have done very good things for N64 TASing, where the glitches encourage runners to do very creative timesavers. I applaud your dedication, MrGrunz, at staying with this project for 2 years and producing very high-quality results. Just one question, though: why do you get the Light Arrows? It doesn't seem like you ever use them.

Aww, where's the fun in just ganging up on the team as they enter the ice? This game seems like a lot of fun, but I think there could be a much more entertaining run of this. For instance, you could be the worst team playing against the best, instead of the other way around. You could try and set up different situations in which to finish off other players, like having three of your guys check one of theirs to death against the boards. If you can rough up the goalie, that would be awesome. I'm not sure which of these ideas would make the best run, but that deserves some experimenting. As such, I'm voting Meh. Thanks for finding another silly short game! Oh, and the first "screenshot" is hilarious.

Pretty nice! The game has good level design. I don't know how I feel about the fact that nearly every boss fight, the characters basically stay inside the boss and take a lot of damage (though the F1 trick is cool)... it just seems less elegant somehow. Regardless, though, this is a speedy run of an intricate game, and I vote yes.

Huh, I did not enjoy the dance music as much as you did, Catastrophe. I'll definitely acknowledge that it was well-composed, but it just felt too out of place. Also, I agree that the timer settings should be left as they are for this run. Is that what you were mentioning in your submission edit, klmz?

Nice job Torn338, and welcome to TASVideos! The run does seem a little unpolished, but it's certainly good for a 3D game. You had good entertainment choices too with waiting time, and the game has a fair bit of variety. I'm happy to vote Yes. Hoandjzj: I like your runs too! I hope we can see a Monkey Magic run that has good sound :-)

Nice work with this run, Soig! However, I'm not sure what to say about this run exactly. I agree with Satoryu in that this run offers less variety than I was hoping for. The playing was a little subpar, but this is more entertaining than the current 1p best ending run. My suggestion would be to publish this and obsolete the 1p best ending run. After all, if you're going to go for a longer ending, you're already not aiming for fastest time, so a run which accomplishes more secondary objectives (entertainment, variety, etc.) should be preferred.

Wow. I was impressed to see how many steps could be skipped from the previous run when you don't need the staff. I'm sorry I couldn't really be any help with this (I had an improvement thought that didn't work), but I'm very happy to see this got done! It's also nice to see that the storybook genre of games can be glitched too. Yes vote.

I finally got a chance to watch this and the published run. This is way better. Very nice job! The only boring parts were waiting to steal from the shop and the area with the boats, but there's nothing really you could've done differently with those. Yes vote.

The ban has nothing to do with the quality of the movie. Be nice. We can be glad that this movie was improved, but our joy shouldn't come from the forum status of the previous author.
