Pretty nice! You'd think such a game-breaking glitch would be harder to do, seems like the programmers forgot about a pretty silly case. I like the "Near Miss" signals when driving at first, and the final fight seems good too.

At first, I misread the filename of the published movie as "guybrushy2-elevatoraction.fm2". I thought some of you might find that amusing :-) Anyway, congrats again Guybrush for the nice improvement!

This run started pretty cool and then got a little repetitive, but some stages were occasionally awesome. I think stage 26, for instance, was cool, since after some initial setup, you blew up the entire board with one big combo. It seems strange to start from Stage 3... that seems to be a pretty arbitrary starting point. Which stages could you start from normally at the beginning of the game?

The submission text is awesome, though I feel like I'm a bad person for laughing at your description of the first level's theme. The game gets pretty repetitive (especially the music) until the last level, which demonstrates some pretty serious ownage. The glitched elevators definitely helped the speed and entertainment. It's a nice improvement to the previous run, and I'll vote Yes, but I'm not sure if I really like the use of death as a shortcut for a game like this.

I like the proposed screenshot, though I feel like it would be also good to have a screenshot from the World 5 Boo area where mini-Luigi is double-wall-jumping up the shaft. That part alone was incredible. I'm quite happy to see this run improved, and it seems like all the comments people had from the previous run (turning on the flagpole, not using shell dash too much, getting blown by pipes in the world-8 water level, etc.) were all addressed in this run. Major yes vote.

Good job improving this so far, Nisto! Stage 1 looks really good, and the police station stage seems a lot better. Though you're still scrolling a lot of enemies off screen and ending stages with a lot of health as a result. By the way, what does higher difficulty do to this game? Does it just mean you take more damage and the enemies take less?

Hi Nisto! This isn't a bad run you have here, especially if it also improves a previous submission for the game. However, I'd like to suggest some things that could probably make this movie a lot better. First, as Aktan mentions (and I believe theenglishman was trying to point this out too), you really want to use frame precision when playing these movies. Rather than 3% speed or something like that, you can use Gens to record input on individual frames, allowing for a much finer degree of control. For instance, each time you turn around to scroll an enemy off screen (which is a nice gimmick, by the way), you currently make a pretty large motion. With frame advance, hopefully you can figure out precisely how much you need to turn around, so that the pauses are much less noticeable. Second, it seems like you're overly conservative with your health in the last few stages. You either scroll a lot of enemies off screen or kill a lot of enemies, but you have a lot of your health left over when the stage ends. You should probably take more damage, so that the run looks more exciting, there are fewer pauses, and the point countdown at the ends of stages goes by quicker. Now, maybe killing enemies helps reduce lag, so it can still be good to scroll off some enemies, but it seems like you should test out some things. Lastly, do you know what causes certain enemies to drop health? If you know the reason for that, maybe you can manipulate the health drops to occur exactly when you need them, also making the run more exciting. In the police station stage, you get a lot of redundant health powerups. I think this is a good first attempt, and I love the way you ended the input early in this movie. But I think there's a fair bit more that can be done. I think the main challenge of this movie, and the main source of excitement, will be careful health management. I wish you luck, and I suggest that you contribute to a forum for this game so that you can post works-in-progress (WIPs) and get feedback as you go.

Wow... thank you for improving one of my favorite old runs on the site. At first, I was surprised that the movie wasn't improved any further (given that the first Streets of Rage got improved by 10 min), but I lost my doubts as I watched this. You routinely get in the middle of large crowds of enemies more than SprintGod did, which makes things really hectic and entertaining. I noticed a few boss fights were drastically improved, like the end boss of Stage 6 and Shiva in Stage 8. You also had a much larger variety of moves, and it made me chuckle every time you had Max flex or do a flying kick during fadeouts. Great job!

It wasn't clear to me at first that you have no direct control over how Gussun walks, hence why you try to speed him up by attacking him with flying blocks and you obstruct the directions he's not supposed to walk. Also, it took me some time to realize that a number over Gussun indicated how long he would wait before he starts walking. Once I realized these things, though, I had fun with this run. This seems like a good addition to the site.

I'm having the same problem Priam is, though I did also manage to watch the DailyMotion encode (thanks Aktan!). I actually really liked this game, largely because there seemed to be a lot going on at any given moment. I had trouble keeping up with watching the character at first. It's a little repetitive, but I believe the run is definitely worth a Yes vote.

Wait, why is this canceled? It seems that this should be uncanceled, but the submission text should have a link to the new version until an admin replaces the submission file. In any case, I look forward to seeing this, but I don't have time yet.

I know that Ice Cap 1 didn't change very much in this version of the run, but I still love how Sonic is running at that weird angle... he looks so determined to get inside those walls and zip. The same thing also happens in Flying Battery 1 and 2. I never really knew why the run changed shield types as much as it did (especially when some of the shields take time to obtain from the end-of-level signposts), but I presume there are good reasons for these shield changes. Also, these shield changes make the run always a treat to watch, and the new gimmicks are pretty awesome.

As far as I'm concerned, the right decision was currently made in the judging. If veup wants this to be a legit submission, then we'll treat it as such, and otherwise veup can decide whether the submission gets killed or not. Let's just not do similar behavior in the future... maybe the form for submitting a movie should be modified slightly? (Oh, by the way, there is another instance I can think of with a submission of someone else's work. With Ferret Warlord's GI Joe movie, before Xipo obsoleted it, I believe Ferret Warlord's brother, Shadow Bryn, submitted that movie. However, he also had explicit permission to do so, if I recall correctly.) As for the movie's merits, this is very clean. This run only creates tetrises using the bottom 4 lines, which I'm not sure if I prefer, but it clearly shows great planning. The all-clears were nice, and the speed of the movie is still blazing fast. I'm going to vote Yes, and we'll see how things play out.

Congratulations, Phil! This looks really good. Not as much of it looked real new, but I love the "pulled to the other side" trick in Area 6, and Area 12 looks really polished now on the elevators. By the way, I'm not too crazy about also having a Hitler No Fukkatsu run. It didn't really feel different enough to me to warrant a separate run, unless you made it with different goals like completing all the areas (but that would probably get boring).

Thanks for the encode, Aktanusa! I watched this and was moderately entertained. It's nice to have a map screen which helps you follow along a little with the run. The run doesn't strike me as really well-optimized, where it seems a lot of corners are taken wider than necessary. Also, at one point about 11 minutes in (I think), you get caught by a vine which seems to have no purpose (though maybe I don't know the game well enough). Also, you pick up acid rounds early on but never use them since you only fight with the knife: could you have avoided these rounds? And the tyrant fight looks sort of ugly compared to everything else since you take damage there. This does seem pretty solid, but I'm not yet sure what to vote.

For me, the Star Light stages were always really fun to watch done properly, since they're so fast without major glitches anyway. However, the glitches here are pretty awesome. Also, WTH with the cutscene at the end of Scrap Brain 2. Nice job!

I think that 30 seconds is quite an appropriate length for this game. Amusing WTF ending as well. I'll chip in a Yes vote. By the way, Mr. Omicron, your avatar image is way too large and is distorting the forum view. Just FYI.

More so than other runs on this game, this run made the game look like one big glitch. It was an amazing surprise to see what you did with the first stage, and you look like you took damage at very smart places. Well done!

This was a pretty awesome run. I especially liked the fights against Agile and Sigma, since you can't get to show them off in a run with no Zero parts and with the Shoryuken. Out of question, would a run with just the X-Buster upgrade be faster than a 100% run? Also, why did you have to destroy the giant fish in the Bubble Crab stage? This run really makes me want to see a new 100% run with improvements like the Flame Stag fight and the Crystal Skip. Mega Man X2 runs have always been awesome since the other weapons give the game variety and pace, and this run is no exception. Yes vote.

This seems a little like the Fire Emblem games (although this is older, I think). The first battle was alright to watch, and then the glitching, although useful and quick, wasn't particularly entertaining. All the actual action of this movie is in the first third. It's nice to know the game can get beaten this quickly, and you look like you did it well, but I don't think the run is particularly rewarding. Meh.

Nice improvement! This game has a lot of variety for being so short, and it didn't really get a chance to get boring. The health management looked difficult for sure. Yes vote.

Thanks for the encode! I watched it, but I have to say the game doesn't seem so interesting that it deserves an immediate acceptance. Although all the stages are played, there's really low variety in the amount of weapons shown off. Also, Alia's messages got really annoying. It's clear that some really good work went into this, and I think this should be published after all, but it's definitely not the best MegaMan X game to watch.

I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. Hmm... Sorry, I didn't know about all the history. I don't know if this was clear from my post, but I do like this run. I would not be opposed to it being published until another run comes along which aims for disputably more entertaining goals. I think the quality of this run, given its goals, is certainly high, though I am curious about the video MUGG links which shows a slightly faster run with the same goals.

I sort of agree that the video is amazing for the first 10 seconds, and then it gets repetitive. The speed is still awesome, though, and I do like the floating tetrises. I wish you'd ended with an all-clear, or gotten more all-clears along the way, but I can understand why you didn't. I think this is a good run, but for the points above, and given what Baxter mentioned, I'll vote meh. However, I have nothing against this being published, with the idea that a more stylish run with a harder goal could obsolete this.

Umm... was this Blaster Master I was just watching? It's hilarious to watch Jason going after the few baddies he finds in Areas 2 and 3 on foot, let alone getting over the obstacles using the jumping glitch and of course the zipping. Very amusing, and Yes vote.
