First post! Seriously, aside from a mild attitude and a lot of whining about Willow not getting accepted, what did POR do? Is there IRC drama that I'm not aware about. If not, I don't see how anything could lead to this melodramatic exit on his part.
He's done this exact same thing twice before, once in the willow thread, and once in the thread where he called me out. Both times he's promised he was leaving, and then came back. So the chances of him actually keeping this promise is slim to none, due to the previous attention-whorish things he's done. EDIT: I rhyme :)

I'm not the best person to analyze IP addresses, but I can tell you that each of the three submissions mentioned (the two you linked and this one) have the same IP address of 190.173.xxx.xxx, however the last half of the addresses are all different. Come to whatever conclusions you would like about that coincidence, but I have a feeling this submission will meet a similar fate as previous attempts, due to lack of entertainment value.

Does anyone care if I change the name of this thread to the English game name (Legend of Zelda II - The Adventure of Link), to match the published movie name?

Yeah, it didn't happen the first two times he said he was leaving, and somehow I doubt the third times the charm. EDIT:

No, mainly because that would create a name of "anonymous" for all of your 742 posts. Also, I moved this to off-topic.

I vote family feud as well, however Crono Trigger comes in a close second for somehow managing to make the game eat itself from the inside out.

If psx is given it's own category, maybe N64 should be placed there? Similar systems and console generation would make more sense to me.

This type of decision is the essence of what drives away promising TASers. I have not watched this, but the fact that it is a major improvement to a published movie that isn't OoT means that it can't be as sloppy as claimed by Nach. EDIT: The longer I'm a judge, the more I learn to distrust statements containing phrases like "this *should* be faster" without an accompanying proof of concept. Particularly when it's used in such a discouraging manner as this situation.

It should be noted that this movie and the recent donkey kong 3 movie both came from the same IP address. Whether this indicates a trolling member with two accounts or two friends using the same computer is up to interpretation.

Yeah, 7 votes without a comment within an hour of submission? That also strikes me as a bit suspicious.

I wasn't particularly arguing for archive.org, just stating that lower sound quality is preferable in my eyes to lower video quality.

Enjoy your outrageously muffled audio. :B
We get 70% of our information regarding the world around us from sight, so I would much rather have a good quality video stream at the expense of audio quality. In fact, several people (myself included) hardly ever watch runs with the sound on at all.

Beacon: unfortunately, most of the emulators we use are usable only on windows or Linux if you compile it yourself. I've heard that you can compile a couple emulators on OS X, but the only usable binary I've found is for SNES9x 1.51. As far as I know, it works exactly like the windows port, and movies made on it are playable on windows as well. However if you only want to work with two random games, you have a couple options: 1) Learn how to compile the emulator you want to use for OS X 2) If you have an intel based Mac, install virtualization software (ie parallels) or install a windows version using boot camp. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Also voting no due to the extremely large walking to action ratio. Despite the glitches, this game just doesn't seem suitable for TASing because of the large amount of dead time.

Correction: TASes of that game are impossible on real hardware, but that doesn't mean *all* games would be. Don't just assume that because a penguin can't fly that all birds can't.

17 yes votes... quite a few votes for not much verbal input. In any case, this gets a solid meh from me.

Anyone else care to comment on this? I found it to be mildly entertaining, with a large increase in watch-ability after about 35k frames. However, it's received quite a few no's, which I'd like to hear more explanation for, should the voters decide to provide that information. I'll give this submission another week or so, then judge it.

I am not able to get this to sync to verify it. I have attempted desmume 0.9.4+ with both softrasterizer and openGL, as well as turning ARM fix on/off. I have also tried it with 0.9.5. My standard desync is with Jill in the first main room. She runs for one step, stops, then picks up some kitchen utensils and runs around. Any idea for what I may do to get this to sync?

"The enhancements SuperGrafx did have: compared to the PC-Engine, SuperGrafx has four times the amount of work RAM for the main CPU, a second video chip with its own video RAM, and a priority controller chip that allowed the output of both video chips to be combined in various ways.[citation needed] SuperGrafx had support for two independently scrolling background layers, like the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, instead of the PC-Engine's single layer." Hmmmm.... Thank you wikipedia. This sounds like a grey situation to me. A little more of an upgrade than the gameboy pocket was from the original GB, but not as much of an upgrade as the 32x was. The best I can figure, this likens to the unreleased N64 disc drive... Sure, it's technically a different system, but because of the lack of public interest, no one really cares. I'd probably vote for adding it in to the existing pce group, in the same way I'd vote for any 32xCD games (yes, they do exist) to be lumped in with either existing console.

Genesis->32x->segaCD were major add-on additions, with full game libraries. What are the technical differences between the tg16/PCE and the supergrafx? Were they marketed as two different platforms? Or was the supergrafx more of a silent processor upgrade?

It's amazing how such a well polished movie can still look so clunky (entirely the games fault, obviously). I remember trying to work on this about a year ago, and giving up before getting past the first screen due to the sheer suckitude of this game. Congratulations on an impressive movie, Kirkq, and yet another 2004 movie bites the dust!.
