Wow, I didn't see this when it was submitted/published, and I missed out! I haven't watched my movie in probably 4 years and I could still tell some of the spots of lag reduction and optimization, since I spent more time optimizing this game than any other TAS I created. Very good job, and a big thumbs up from me!

Huh, I had a movie published 5 months ago! Cool! Thanks Alyosha for the co-author cred, I probably didn't deserve it but I appreciate it!

Another bias is that most people had more free time in the past than right now - as you get a job, study harder, etc. you have less time to watch and make TASes.

Ah, memories. DarkKobold and I had some interesting conversations regarding those users already mentioned. Glad they haven't been back. And for my opinion, I agree with DK

Heeeey, my first post ever! Nostalgia trip! Kurabupengin, I submitted a completed movie, but cancelled it when it was clear the game didn't lend itself to a very entertaining TAS. I understand the judging rules have changed over the past few months or a year, so it might be vault material now. Here ya go: http://tasvideos.org/1346S.html

Would it be possible to maybe do some Genesis verification there?
That's definitely the idea. If someone has a Genesis that they would be willing to donate to the cause I would be most appreciative, and I can pay for shipping. I'm also on the lookout for broken SNES controllers. Thanks for your interest, A.C. ******
I sent my old genesis to micro500 about 2 years ago to do just that, make a gensbot. He kept me posted for about a year but then I didn't hear anything else about it. I sent him a couple messages to check on things and see if I could get it back if he wasn't actively working on making the bot, but he read my messages and never responded. If anyone has a more useful way of getting a hold of him, please let me know. I'd still be happy to donate it (and the 10 or so games I sent to him) to the same cause, if anyone else is interested in actually working on it.

I just pray for the day we can get a real third party and we aren't forced to pick between someone who thinks throwing money at poor people is good policy, and a man who seems to be terrified of gay marriage. I actually kind of envy those of you who live in a country where there are a handful of viable parties instead of exactly two.
^ Pretty much my thoughts exactly. When the Republican party is against science and the Democratic party is against independence, it becomes tough to like either one.

I continue to be saddened by the IOC not adding women's jello wrestling to the list of competitions. And, after the recent badminton kerfluffle, I think that they should institute an anti-badminton event where the winning team is the one which is best at losing.

I stilll have a pretty high quality WIP up to level 4 I believe. If the emulation is better on BizHawk I'd be interested in finishing it up.

MHS is somewhat more difficult to use than a dedicated RAM watcher because it monitors the RAM of the game as well as the RAM of the emulator being used. I used it with my Turok run, and had varying levels of success; boss HP was easy to find, speed was harder (and I'm not convinced I actually ever found a "true" speed address). My recommendation would be to keep playing around with it, because it undoubtedly works, but is less than user friendly sometimes. Asking a SM64 dude would probably help too, since they have some dozens of RAM addresses mapped out

I encourage anyone active in watching and making TASes with a little spare time to apply. I thoroughly enjoyed it for the two years that I was an active judge, and it gave me a much greater appreciation for different genres of games (other than dungeon strollers lulz). I wish that I had the time still, but it's tough once school is done and real life kicks in.

Credit where it's due: this is very slightly more subtle than (but equally inappropriate as) your bullying behavior in your previous submission's thread. Kudos(?).
Thank you for still occasionally sharing your wit with us Jixie, this just made my evening. Regarding the run, it is pretty much a mind-screw. I had no idea what was going on, and enjoyed it quite a lot. I may vote yes, I may abstain, or maybe I'll vote no to enjoy the verbal fireworks. But I did like watching my favorite childhood game getting turned into an incomprehensible mess.

First TAS I've watched in a while, because I was never able to beat the game as a kid, and it did not disappoint. Some of the bomb jump combos just looked entirely impossible. Thanks for this :)

Wow, I looked at the link Sir VG provided, expecting it to be in some town in Kentucky or something... instead, I find out that zidanax lived where I went to college for 4 years, and went to a high school where I briefly worked at. How sad. My thoughts go out to his family, friends, and classmates.

Aww it's good to see that ridiculous arguments are still alive and well on the site. My vote goes to .pfe (Phil's Fresh Eggs) Followed closely by .jxq And the Bronze goes to .bimmy That is all.

Awww sad, I was hoping that our run was going to be safe from further optimization. If you keep going Randil, I only have one request: Make sure that Goofy still fellates that enemy in level one. A wholesome Disney character performing an unmentionable act like that is just too awesome to leave out.
