Nice. :) Looking forward to further progress! This runs already shapes up to be quite awesome.

Is that still English? Your message has become completely unintelligible by the third paragraph.

The current 100% route takes Grapple early, that's the point. X-ray, however, not. Oh well.

Bummer. :\ That would indeed be a surprising sequence break.

Haha, wait, so the 100% run could have used that all along? Early Grapple beam -> Gravity and the r-tank -> enter ship normally -> do a cleanup -> exit the area through crumble block -> pick up the water alcove missile. That skips a couple room transitions and the long-ass statue cutscene at the cost of slower setup and slower outdoor area. Which of them is faster, though?

The left+right functionality receives more and more interesting applications. Good find!

I find it pretty simple: 70 stars is the minimal amount you can get without glitches, so if the run is done under that condition, it's not arbitrary in the slightest. Obviously, that's assuming the run is actually glitchless, otherwise it is rather arbitrary.

A glitchless 70-star run is in the works, so, considering that Mario doesn't have any items or other accessories that transfer from stage to stage, pretty much every feasible scenario has been covered. The only concern is movie length, but that alone would hardly constitute another category.

Hitman, Silent Hill, Tomb Raider (1 and 2). You can say what you want, my opinion about these movies will stay the same: they were awesome.
You proved your point with your own opinion! I still don't believe you signed that petition, though, since disliking Boll's movies is a matter of opinion as well, yet for some reason you are blaming him for yourself not having enjoyed his movies. Btw, Tomb Raider was awesomely boring if not for Lara's boobs, but the same can be said about the game, anyway. And Silent Hill was plain boring, much like Resident Evil and other horror movie wannabes that rely upon gruesome CGI mutants, and not primal fears that are far stronger. Haven't seen Hitman yet.

Mortal Kombat was awesome, but basically for the same reason Uwe Boll's movies are. I.e., so bad they're good.

That impression is mostly due to Uwe Boll. Here's his IMDB page: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0093051/
Mostly? Name at least one movie based on a videogame that didn't suck in some major way, disregarding whatever Boll did.

There are 3-4 theaters here that mostly show movies with original audio, but most of them do so without any subtitles, which is pretty inconvenient for me. But then again, I mostly watch movies at home as HD-rips, and that way I always have the access to both the original audio and english subs.

I was watching the movie dubbed in a theater on my 20th birthday, and when they named the gun the first time, I choked on cola: "большое финишное глушило". I just don't know how to do it justice if translated back to English.

BFG. The best thing in the movie, actually.

The thing is, there is no point in trying to stick to conventional completion categories in games that don't have conventional ways of measuring the completion rates. Find one that suits the purpose, and stick to it. If anything, it's not any more vague than trying to find some set of variables in the game to fill the "this be 100%" quota. If you want to see a run that saves all characters, let it be an all-character run.

I have no idea if I was the first to actually discover it (unlikely), but I did post it on the previous page.

Hey, here is a great idea: don't do a 100% run, do an all-characters run.

Well, I didn't notice any substantial differences from T&K's WIP, except a few minor changes here and there (like in Dachora room in pink Brinstar), which still weren't faster as far as I could see. Most of the pre-RB segment was still very good, though, definitely better than any other run on the site so far. I assume you have used the available smvs as reference at least strategy-wise for that segment, is that correct? Because in that case it's hard for me to say what I think about it that I haven't thought of the original strategies. Let's say I "still like them". Judging from the sudden drop in per-room strategies by the moment of entering RB, it looks like you were doing everything from that point on entirely by yourself, which, if true, is really cool. You show promise. Welcome, btw. :P

A good solution is to carefully read a good amount of well-written English text. Proper grammar, spelling, punctuation and all that stuff will be more or less carved into your long-term memory that way. Books will suffice, internet most likely won't.
