The progress isn't going, because at the moment I have very little time and motivation for TASing (as well as just playing anything but 2-3 games). The reason for that is that I'm getting tired at work, and just want to rest in my free time, and thus it applies to both runs equally. When I get the motivation back, I'll return to business (or at least do some short tests for low% in the meantime, since they don't require much time or effort).
And no, pre-Torizo segment won't be copied in any case because I'm sure as hell that further improvements are possible. Besides, I promised to improve T&K's WIP in some way, and I am definitely going to do so.
Hmm, let's see…
I guess the only game I can consider myself a pro at is Crimsonland. My survival mode scores are really high nowadays, and I plan on improving them.
Games I'm overall decent at (but not yet a pro) are:
• Quake 3;
• Touhou games (working on them currently);
• Super Metroid;
• Golden Axe 3.
Games I was decent at previously (but likely not anymore):
• ElastoMania;
• Unreal Tournament (1999);
• SNES Starfox (100% on all courses except one stage);
• DKC 1 & 2;
• Super Castlevania 4;
• Axelay;
• Battletoads in Battlemaniacs;
• Worms 2/3.
One other game I want to get better at is DoDonPachi.
The player isn't really forced, though, as there are SS runs that show very aggressive play (also applicable to 25-50 minute long score runs of arcade games). It's up to the players, their patience, and their consistency in trick performance.
Yeah, that's the main problem with it, thanks to the awful range. Based on the figures you've gathered, it should deal around 12 (I think) damage, since clubmen die from one hit.
I also think you should invite someone to your house and try running the game in 2p, since tag attacks deal just enough damage (48, I guess) to wipe out the first boss and his minions in a single strike, not to mention the beautiful magic animations. :)
Panther (I was certain she was a female) has one awesome attack that I have been using for almost the entire time during my playing sessions: change directions twice, press jump+attack. Deals a good lot of damage to everyone in its way, covers 2/3 of the screen, and is unblockable. All bosses die within seconds only having enough time to get up. She has a more powerful attack (forward+jump+attack), but it's slow and has very short range. Her jump+down attacks are also nice and quick.
Duh.
I'm saying that with such a logo it becomes difficult to pinpoint the exact moment of movie start without a corresponding subtitle.
You said you didn't understand how such a subtitle can be useful. I'm merely presenting you an example. As such, I see no reason to discontinue using this subtitle since it doesn't bring any inconvenience to the viewers, yet can still be useful.
No, AKA, I'm telling you that you suck for making this ridiculous and uncalled for argument. If "you'd rather see" a unique submission, don't watch it, go see a unique submission — a lot of them today. But starting a dumb argument suggesting this movie shouldn't be published because you don't need it? Dude, what the hell. Seriously.
What I don't understand is why you're so adamant about it. Ok, you think it was unneeded. How many SM64 improvements were needed since the last 16-star version? People were already happy with it! What's wanted and what's needed are two different things, and I think your argument is pointless regardless, so shut up.
I like it for the most part. It does require some touchups, such as:
1) slightly increasing line spacing (it looks really cramped as it is now);
2) forcing line wrap earlier than it is now (over 10 words per line = hard to read);
3) removing or otherwise shortening redundant wording (if you had "XX hours, XX minutes and XX seconds" written on the screen of your wristwatch, you'd get pissed quite quickly);
4) slightly more optimal usage of page space.
What I really miss is a sidepanel. I'll need time to get used to "toppanel".
!!
That's it, thanks! Seems like we had the JP version here for some reason, because I totally remember it being named Ex-Ranza. And it looks like the game has some TAS potential.
