Well, duh, you have to kill an enemy to do it :S
What about doing it on a miniboss? There are lots of those in Contra III, and you have to kill each one of them, anyway. That would cut quite an amount of time off the pacifist run.

Apparently, certain souls that cancel Soma's current animation or drive him into [semi-]uncontrollable state (Manticore, for example) can be used to cancel the fall-from-great-height daze. Dragondarch seems to have used that in his NG+ speedrun, just before the first chat with Graham. Zurreco pointed out the lack of the daze so we analyzed the reason and came to this conclusion. More unneeded text here. Also, cocks.

That's called binaural recording. Pretty cool thing, actually. Works best in in-ear monitors.

This improvement was long overdue, and I thank you for delivering it in such a fast and asskickingly awesome way. :) Excellent run on all accounts. Yes vote!

Download this archive. Everything should work. Regarding demos and other stuff, I'll try to incorporate everything in the next update. Hopefully this week — that is, if I won't get melted by the heat. :\

Hahaha, the world is quite small. Distributing gold/experience was one of my main concerns regarding the full run as well as the battles, although if you say it could be done in around 10 minutes overall, that's not that bad. There are Dragon Warrior TASes here, after all, and those are quite longer than 10 minutes.

Kitsune, please, 1) learn to read (referring to this post); 2) stop posting. I beg of you.

75%? I'm actually more interested in the figures for B and C. My, Chamale was quite imprudent when he used that as an argument. :P (But then again, it's his typical quality…)

Yeah, to hell with backwards compatibility. Movies shouldn't rely on emulation bugs. (Except Starfox, which is dead boring otherwise.)

Wow, if that's true, that'd be one hell of a TAS. Go for it!

Any idea how much they're inflated, or is it just a "well, it might be worse" sorta thing?
People who like the game and eager to see any run for it will most likely vote yes regardless of any other factors. People who like a run and appreciate it in its entirety will definitely vote yes. People who like a run but know nothing whether it is good technically will likely vote yes. People who don't really like the run but appreciate the effort most of the time vote yes. People who don't like the run may abstain from voting. People who don't know/like the game will most likely not even watch it. That's why non-yes votes are always more representative than the otherwise, especially when it comes to popular games, since their fame/popularity already tends to initially tilt people's impression towards a positive vote.

You can get it from The Firemen submission. It was the one I altered. If you try saving it with TAS Movie Editor, it will somehow desync in the last 500-600 frames.

A high score run would be cool, methinks.

No. And I discourage using ZSNES for TASing purposes because it isn't as stable and handy as Snes9x.

This was DAMN impressive, Bisqwit. :) The direction and execution is near flawless, especially apparent in the backwards part.

No they shouldn't. Creating new topics for questions relevant to the existing ones is worse than just using the existing ones. However, it would be cool if phpBB notified the poster additionally in case the last message was posted more than half a year ago.

Hmm. On one hand, it's rather cool. On the other, I wouldn't want it if both HoD movies were all glitched out. HoD best ending run can be done a couple minutes faster already with the current knowledge, and crunching it into 15 minutes would just leave most of the coolest stuff out. I would vote for a third category: worst ending, using wall sinking glitch (complementary to best ending, without wall sinking, and Maxim, with wall sinking).
