Thank you for reminding us why it is a bad idea to publish movies quickly :)
I guess this should also remind why publishers need to read the submission thread as well, before publishing a movie. :|

Don't forget that all the previous runs except GuanoBowl's completed only the first round, so if anything, it should have been the otherwise: the second quest movie shouldn't have obsoleted the first.

Hmm, actually, why not? I thought the only real prerequisite for a walljump was "landing" at a tile boundary, which shouldn't be a problem to arrange after a successful walljump. Also, Andrew, you might want to link your runs like this, so that they won't make your signature that long:
With warps - 5:00 Without warps - 19:57
(Because honestly, that appears a bit too long.)

If you need more info, please ask me to write more.
How do you get the jellybeans for a rocket? EDIT: Okay, JXQ told me that you start with enough jellybeans but have to go underground for the rocket to work, a part that you somehow skip. And that is still unclear.

It's a good improvement, and I was entertained, so it's a yes vote. HOWEVER! Apparently, it can still be improved by quite an amount of time (I'd estimate another half a minute in the least). Not everything was even as fast as in Cardboard's submitted run, let alone faster. We've thoroughly discussed your run with him today and came up with quite an amount of improvements/corrections, so if you are interested, I suppose we could share everything (though comparisons will take time, but you had to do them yourself, anyway).

Haha, stanski wanted you to make a run of a good Genesis game, yet you better run something on the NES instead. :D Yes vote.

Hero of the day, adelikat and I (and maybe some others, too) can't get rev.10 to work with Snes9x 1.51. It just says "[Process 0]" at the top, and that's all. Could you investigate?

I'm having some troubles with FCEU 0.98.16, which I installed for this run. One problem is that I get "error 22" when I run Super Mario 2 (J).fds. The disksys.rom file is on the desktop, as is the FCEU icon.
FCEU doesn't know where you place its icons, it's supposed to work the opposite way. Hence you should put the ROM together with the executable.

Another problem is that it won't display the current frame. How do you turn that on?
Umm, dot (".")? I thought it was the same in any emulator, except maybe Mupen.

I think it requires a Quicktime plugin for your browser… Nothing else I could think of.

What Tombad said. The movie is of incredible quality and I'm voting yes. One question, though: that… goblin-thing you fight at 7600 and then just jump over, I assume it was done so that he wouldn't knock you off the ladder? Also, mad props for naming stages that way. Have strongth welling in your body, wise and courageour Arc. :D

AFAIK, no-one is encoding it yet, so it's safe to cancel now.

Ahaha, I totally love the description. Especially "a boy and his dog who overthrow an evil rock" sounds awesome ("overthrow" and "rock" in one sentence lead to this adorable ambiguity). :D

Hey Spezzafer, are you planning to continue your 100% run? In case you needed the ability to search for RAM addresses in the embedded chips, Snes9x 1.51 offers that functionality, though it means you'd have to start over or something. :\

Ghegs from SDA is doing a run on this game, and he has found a strategy that might speed up the boss fight at 2-3 by a couple seconds. Here is what is required to do it (4 MB), here is the resulting boss fight (2.5 MB). It was played on the japanese version.

Yeah right. Zero Wing is a bad game, it's very boring to watch, and the intro in the beginning will be skipped to save time. http://tasvideos.org/1094S.html http://tasvideos.org/1190S.html Enjoy, if you can.

Railgun doesn't kill in one shot, it deals 100 damage (which means even three shots may not be enough under certain circumstances).

Wow, loved the boss fight at 4-3! I have a suggestion for the autoscrolling section in the beginning: what if you play around with enemies on screen more, rather than wait on one spot until the fire catches up, then kill them all in a matter of second? You seem to have used this approach more towards the end of the section, and I liked it. On the other hand, that cold-blooded waiting for the fire also was neat to see, especially at the start. Either way, what you're doing is awesome. :)
