That obviously was among the subsequencies, but yeah, that's what I was talking about as well.

Yes thing have changes drastically in terms of technology but not enough to completely invalidate this observation.
But yet again, this is subject to paradigm shifts. With every step that makes us understand the life and the universe and all that crap a bit better, knowledge eats away at the religion's domain. Then, as those profound bits of knowledge will continue to render some of the religious doctrines useless, the critical mass of such changes will result in a shift that may drastically change the mentality of the believers. Remember the points raised by the sheep cloning? That's what I mean. And nanotechnology is on the rise these days…

Question for those who think religions will die out. Are there any major religions that have ever died out in the past? and why did they?
They did. It was either because their hosts died or because they were overtaken by another religion (usually monotheistic as DeFender pointed out). However, as most of the stuff happened very long ago, it may not seem as "major" by today's ranks.

This is subject to a paradigm shift. And there surely be many of those in this century. That's one of the reasons I partly agree with Fabian. Something will definitely change in the next 75 years, be it the organized religions themselves, their hosts or the mankind mentality in general.

That's not faith at all. Faith is a process of non-thinking whereby one accepts beliefs passed down through tradition with no evidence, or even against the evidence. None of those things require faith; they can demonstrated scientifically (through inductive reasoning), not to mention that they're all glaringly obvious. Also, in my view it's futile to speculate about whether reality "really" exists; we can perceive it, and that's all that matters.
I think he means the fact that any science relies on a system of assumptions (axioms) which are not (and can't be) necessary right or wrong by their nature, but still define the validity of all the consequent results. That said, to make a theory about something, we must rely on a given axiom, and that means we essentially must believe that the axiom is right.

Another question. As I wasn't thoroughly tracking the creation of this run, could some of you authours tell me if there are any possible spots (more like, frames) of improvement (despite how low they can be) in this run?

I was hoping for a sub-25 minutes run. Voting no! (j/k) By the way, why such an enormous rerecord count?

Funny thing, but the autoscrolling levels in SMW run were the only ones that were actually not repetitive. On nearly all of the "speed" ones, all I could hear is endless "pweee! pweee!" and some other occasional sounds, as Mario blazed through those levels. Abadox isn't the most interesting autoscroller by far, but at least it isn't as bland as the aforementioned Gradius, or some other autoscrolling games, runs of which are already published here.

One of the few NES autoscrollers I even enjoyed. Good level design (well, intestines and stuff were somewhat novel in 1988), decent NES music, surprisingly low amount of lag. As for the run, very impressive dodging (especially on the last levels! That's crazy, man), quick boss fights and nice overall style. Voting yes.

The game's fairly simplistic, but neat nonetheless. I have watched only v7 and v13, and I like it so far. I also hope the game won't be too long (or at least too simple) to become repetitive. :)

I liked the last boss fight (it showed much more variety than the other boss fights) and Victar's speed. It really justifies the fact that it's a speedrun. Yes vote. EDIT: Oh, and the fact that his sword is growing with each level is really funny!

That 1:21 run was so incredibly… incredible! O_O For most of the time, I couldn't even decipher the runner's actions. This run, despite of its short length, is surely being one of my favorites now!

What Vidar said. However it may mess up the statistics a little, as Bisqwit's software is keeping track of them: [1], [2]. But I'm sure it can be settled without much hassle.

Actually, there are many games that are interesting to play, but not interesting to watch, and vice versa. This is absolutely normal. :)

Heh, very impressive dodging. I'm inclined to vote yes on what I've seen so far.

Oddity: There's only one way to start running as fast as you can: hold down the dash button and run. Arm-pumping doesn't increase your running speed, it just additionally shifts your position forward by one pixel or so with every pump; short charge techs, in their turn, are used to run slower than usual (and therefore, to travel a shorter distance before the SB charges up for a jump), and as a result, you only press dash on the four frames needed to charge. You can only hope to travel the desired distance faster if you're already running (or at least you're in the process of the running animation; which is the key of the shortest charge) at the beginning of it (that's especially useful in the case with Ceres's stupid automatic doors).

Though I've found it hard to fully enjoy the movie itself, I enjoy the concept. And I like how the actual game continues for so long after the input being stopped. Masterfully done! And of course it is a yes vote.
