Is the all coin run still being considered?
Actually, it's already being done, with all 2672 coins.

You already know my vote. Yes for a stunningly fast run. SL: congratulations for your first TASVids submission.

Once again, amazing. Sweet collectioning of the red coins both times. But what happened on the red coin star? Why did it stop in the air? D:
That's where it stops. :P

If I recall correctly some Stars are going to have to be collected in levels before Hi-Coin scores can be achived. For example in Stage one does the Koopa Troopa only appear when you select acts 3-6 at the level entry? (ie after beating Koopa the Quick.)
Yep, I'd collect whatever stars necessary to make all coins available.
So you would be collecting all the coins, not just the coins from the 15 levels?
Exactly; every non-infinite coin in the game (so probably no Chuckya, no coins under the bridge outside of the castle, etc). EDIT: Then again, I could get the two under the bridge after coming from VCUtM. The four coins in the Lobby would all be collected at least once from Lobby Glitching. If that were to happen, then, yes, every coin (except Chuckya, piranha, etc).

Okay, then maybe just the glitched coins from the boxes?

Yeah, I would actually go for both high scores and "cleaning out" the levels of their coins. So you would collect every coin that is normally produced in every level, even the special levels. But then in any of the main levels where there's a duplication trick, you would fill in the total to 255 with duplicated coins to get a perfect score. Except I can't decide how many coins to get from Bowser's flames...
Erm, I dunno about getting 255 coins from every level where it's possible (it might get pretty boring and un-entertaining), but I think the entire coin collection is a good idea. It would be completely different from all the other Mario TASes; even the Bowser levels (which are the same in 16 star and CCC and similar in 120 star) would be radically different. Like I said, I thought it would be a good idea to get one infinite coin from each level where possible, so: 1 Chuckya glitch in WDW 1 Moneybags glitch in SL 1 Piranha Plant glitch in THI As well as: 1 box glitch in BoB 2 box glitches in WF That's what I can remember.

That's not true. :P Watch this video made by DigiLuigi (it's very bad quality, but it's enough proof that it's possible to get all 63 coins in one go): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8s9BvHq6gA
*jaw drops open* I've never seen that... Well, that can change things... I have no problem bumping it up to 2672 coins by including EVERY coin.

The 70 star idea came up like 30 pages back (also by me, coincidentally, IIRC), and it wasn't realistic. The conditions would be too variable. Another reason why the coin thing would work because it would probably be the most unique of all the TASes so far. The coin routes would all be original, as opposed to the same usual star routes.

Would you also be collecting stars along the way? Either that or you'd have to start from a save file to be able to enter all 15 levels. The moment you collect that 2092th coin could mark the end of the movie, or you could beat the 3rd Bowser. I don't know if it would be accepted at this site though.
I was thinking of something like 15 stars (obviously 100 coin stars and red coin stars); just the bare minimum to get to the next levels. To end the movie, I was thinking of B3. I haven't read up on the rules to see if it's allowed, and Comicalflop makes a good point; I just wanted to see if there was any interest.

Just out of curiousity, after the 120 star and CCC TASes are done, would a TAS of getting all 2092 coins in all 15 courses interest anyone? Excluding infinite coin glitches, or maybe one coin per glitch.

I'm continuing this now, just to let anyone who's interested know. I finished WF, and am just finishing the second PSS slide.

Assuming Rikku isn't redoing B2, can't people just forget about the camera and review/comment on the latest WIP? This would be a better discussion for a test run or a WIP that would be subject to redoing. My opinion.

I think that camera angles matter, and the latest ones weren't too great. However, it's really not a big deal. This run is for fastest completion, right? If the frame count is 100% optimized, there's no need to redo it. In a run like FODA's angles absolutely matter; he's sacrificing frames for entertainment, so the angles should be entertaining. In this, it's not a huge problem.

Agreed; there should be more feedback on the latest WIP.

Wow....well, to me it looked pretty good; the PSS in 12.5 seconds was a surprise, and the 100 coin route looked superb.

The continuation of the new 120 star run gave me a little inspiration, so I'm gonna keep going with this... Last time I checked, I was at the end of WF, so by the end of next week I'll try to have WF, the other PSS star, and CCM done.
