The testrun was awesome. I wonder if he used any strategies from this board... I thought I recognized one that I (think I) discovered.

It's impossible to compare them; by the end, I'm sure they'll both be phenominal.

Wow... This guy is superb. Been waiting for this Speedrun for a while, and it's living up to its expectations... Like others said, congratulations to him. This TAS will kill him, though.

The demand part was a joke; I completely agree with you. FODA is doing an incredible job, and he should be given as much time as he needs to perfect his masterpiece. And I demand to see the next WIP.

Is the upward wind shortcut that's right next to the 1up mushroom when you backtrack from the beginning of the level going to be used in Tall Tall Mountain?
From what I'm guessing, FODA will probably use that once or twice, but he'll mostly just go right through the mountain.

I didn't see that jump in the original basic TAS, and I think I'm the first person to discover it, so... I hope he uses it.

OH! Of course, what a terrible mistake! I meant TTC, for Tick Tock Clock! I'll edit that right away, before FODA accidentally uses that in the wrong course and all hell breaks loose!

So I guess TAS-ing will restart tomorrow, right? BTW, I know it's a little early, but I found something that will really help in TTC. It's a lot harder than it looks, but it's definitely a major timesavor.

You wouldn't be talking about this, would you?

If I recall, you can get into the red coins area, but you can't get into Wiggler's Cave. That being the case, be sure to remember my incredible strategy for draining the water...

Oh, and if you ground-stomp on the side of the mountain, the water will drain. That'll save lotsa time.

What would be more efficient? Getting the 100-coin star with the traditional red coins, or...getting them on the Koopa race? The latter wold be really cool to watch.

Just watching this new one now.... The WDW is a lot nicer. BTW, in THI, if you slide down the "mountain" in Tiny Island, you can build enough speed to hit the island with the Secrets Star without using the walkway. EDIT: Oh, you already did it. And another option is to BLJ in the wedge on the beach to hit the island with the star. One more thing... You can triple jump at the beginning to wall kick off of that little piece of ground above you to easily get the first secret..

I still can't figure out how he recovered from the ground-pound when there was no Spider under him... You can't make any new moves while "ground-pound-falling", and the height was too high up to not lose any health (I think).

Oh, that reminds me... I know this is self-promoting, and it may be deleted, but if people here still play Mario 64, have the capacity to record emulator/console videos, and are looking for something to do with SM64 after all these years, come to GameFAQs to compete in my Video Quiz... It's super-wonderful.
Nooooo, message board games will be the downfall of the internet I tell you!

I was reading more about this, and you can apparently have the chuckya turn into a star. Could this speed up one of the WDE stars? Doubtful, but it might be something to consider.
If I'm not mistaken, FODA is working on that right now.

Good that you got it... Though it would be completely irrelevant to the speedrun (and probably cost a lot of time), it'd be cool to get invisible for at least some of the run...

FODA, check this site for a video of the Chuckya glitch, and a detailed discription of how to perform it. Hope that helps.
