Same here. By the look of the "How to replay it" instructions in the description, I think xipo may have used a bad (or old) dump.
You're just fucking stupid, everyone hates you, sorry to tell you the truth. no one likes you, you're someone pretentious and TASes only to be on speed game, but don't have any hope, you won't get there.

http://fbarr.googlecode.com/files/fba-rr-v003a.7z -I forgot to re-arrange menu items in v0.0.3, that's been fixed now -Added configurable hotkeys -FBA-RR won't unpause automatically anymore after the DIP switches config or a movie start

Why do you care about that? People still submit movies made with FCEU .13 or .15, even though there are more than 20 new versions of that emulator. v0.0.1 (or 2) was the version approved for submissions; I only updated it because there were a lot of new games in the new official version, and maybe there are some bug fixes too...

Since FBA-RR has now been accepted for this site, I've updated it to the newest official version (0.2.97.06): http://fbarr.googlecode.com/files/fba-rr-v003.7z A huge amount of changes were made to the official version since I first released FBA-RR almost a year ago, so maybe this update will have new bugs (that probably won't be noticed anyway, since this RR version was already totally broken) due to incompatibilities between the old code and the new one. There are no new features or fixes, just an update to the newest official version. It uses the ROM sets from MAME 0.131u3. The source code for this version will be available at the Google Code SVN later...

Sure... I'd love to, but I don't have the necessary motivation (and knowledge) to do such huge amount of work. :P You can always add some simple modifications to the emulator, if brute-forcing is all you need... I did something like that for my Puzzle Bobble 3 TAS:
if(key == 'Z') {
	GPU_setspeedmode(12);
	flagSaveState=9;
	flagAdvanceUntilNext=1;
}
if ( (flagAdvanceUntilNext) && (psxMs8(0x96836) == psxMs8(0x96837)) ) {
	GPU_setlagcounter(Movie.currentFrame);
	flagAdvanceUntilNext=0;
	flagLoadState=9;
	GPU_setspeedmode(7);
}
(Just an example to show how simple C can be: here I use the Lag Counter to show me what is the first frame where I can shoot a bubble. :P) As a side note, I'm going to make a TAS of the FFVII demo that came with Tobal No. 1; just for fun. I already did a short TAS test of FFVIII a while back, and I think both games use a very similar random battle mechanism...

I agree about Stella; the Atari 2600 is the only system left for TASing which I really like (and the ZX Spectrum, but I've yet to find a decent open-source emulator of it with save-state support :P). Here are other emulators of systems that don't particularly interest me: Atari++ (Atari 400 and 800, Atari 400XL, 800XL and 130XE, and Atari 5200) http://www.xl-project.com/ It has GUI and savestate support. blueMSX (SG-1000, SC-3000, SF-7000, ColecoVision, SVI318/328, MSX, MSX2, MSX2+ and turboR) http://www.bluemsx.com/ GUI, savestate support and AVI capture. ColEm (ColecoVision) http://fms.komkon.org/ColEm/ GUI and savestate support. MAME (Arcade) http://www.mamedev.org/ It has a semi-decent GUI, AVI capture and input recording, but lacks proper savestate support for most of its supported games. MESS (Every console/computer you can think of) http://www.mess.org/ It has a semi-decent GUI, AVI capture and input recording, but lacks proper savestate support for most of its supported systems. O2EM (Magnavox Odyssey²) http://o2em.sourceforge.net/ Lacks both GUI and savestate support. Yeah, it sucks, but it's the only emulator besides MESS that can run the amazing K.C. Munchkin. Potator (Watara Supervision) http://sourceforge.net/projects/potator/ Lacks both GUI and savestate support. ProSystem Emulator (Atari 7800) https://home.comcast.net/~gscottstanton/ It has GUI and savestate support. Raine (Arcade) http://rainemu.swishparty.co.uk/ Another open-source arcade emulator. It has support for these games. It also has support for Neo Geo games if it's compiled using makefile.neocd to build neoraine. Red Dragon (Virtual Boy) http://rdragon.vr32.de/ GUI and savestate support. These are of systems we already have rerecording support for, but these emulators may be better options than the currently available ones: 1964 (Nintendo 64) http://sourceforge.net/projects/schibo/ An emulator a lot better than Mupen64 and the best one for Nintendo 64, but only for Windows. There is now source-code for the latest version. It has a GUI and savestate support. Handy (Atari Lynx) http://handy.sourceforge.net/ GUI and savestate support. NeoPop (Neo Geo Pocket and Neo Geo Pocket Color) http://neopop.emuxhaven.net/ GUI and savestate support. Ootake (PC Engine) http://www.ouma.jp/ootake/ Input recording, GUI and savestate support. OSwan (WonderSwan) http://sourceforge.jp/projects/oswan/ It has a GUI and savestate support. EDIT: Also, DOSBox is missing in the "Rerecording Tools but not yet approved for TASVideos" list (DOSBox v0.73 was released a couple of days ago, by the way).

Yes, I tested some months ago, I think... I don't quite remember, but I think you needed it to pass the first warning screen. I don't know if you also needed it for doors.

Yeah, it should be easy to add. But I think I need to edit a lot of files to add it, since this requires GPU+core interaction, and I don't really have a lot of motivation to do such amount of work. :P

This kind of questions appear on PlayStation forums very frequently. Most of the times it's just because the poster is trying to play a pre-analog-controller game with the "PAD Analog" mode on. I know for sure it's been asked quite a few times on this thread; I still remember that girl saying how PCSX was the worst piece of shit she had ever seen, just because Castlevania: SotN didn't detect her input. :D

Actually, it's the same one since v0.0.1 and probably older releases too... You were probably still using padNRagePlugin.dll which also used to come in the archive until v0.0.5, but that plugin has the buttons wrongly labeled (among other things) so I decided to not recommend it anymore since v0.0.6. But you can still use it if you put that dll file inside the "plugins" folder (note now it's "plugins", not "plugin"), as you can also use any other plugin if you prefer.

Yes. You need to set up a hotkey for "Reset" first and then use it when you're recording a movie. (The menu option doesn't get recorded in the movie files, you need to use the hotkey for this.)

This is only somewhat related, but have you guys heard of The Protomen? They're this band out of Nashville that has created a rock opera about Mega Man. It's kind of rooted in 80's arena rock, with a little bit of a modern twist as well. Their live show is amazing. They take a few liberties as far as the story goes, but it's still pretty entertaining.
Thank your for mentioning this album! I got it right after I saw your post here (I love rock operas and Mega Man :P), but never really cared about it... Until a few days ago, when I started to listen to it again more carefully. I've got to say it is a really really good album, and a must-listen for any Mega Man fan. It's almost the only album I've been listening to lately, as you can see on my Last.fm profile. It's also possible to play the songs for free there, if anyone cares about it.

It's already been established that adelikat didn't publish this because it was his own run, but because it was the first DS TAS. I.e. even if it had been made by someone else, it would have still been published (as I said just a few posts ago).
Except someone else couldn't have made it because the emulator was made public only after this movie was submitted. :o) gia's points still stand, as I see them; but I agree that nothing good will come from making this debate any longer, very sadly. It seems adelikat, Bisqwit and the few others will never see why this publication has been bad for the credibility of the website and the judges; and the rest of us will never see why it's so important to have a few more hits on the website, even if we have to sacrifice other stuff.

Sure... What I don't like about this is how this movie only got a different treatment just because it was made by you. gia expressed better what I (and probably others too) think about this publication:

If someone wants to lend a server to start a new democratic TAS community, drop me a PM. Just kidding, just kidding... Er... So, I don't have much to say. I already exposed my point of view about this issue here:
mz wrote:
-Elitist judging system that motivate people to keep TASing the same 5 or so games over and over again (Zelda, Sonic, Mario, Megaman, Metroid, etc.). No one wants to waste months of his life just to see his work rejected only because the judge in turn has never played your game before and he doesn't find it entertaining. And let's not talk about waiting 65 months to see a run accepted, when it should be much faster if we didn't have this stupid elitist system with just a couple of judges.
That was more than a month ago. Sadly, things don't seem to get any better; on the contrary, they just seem to be getting worse. I think this might have something to do with the way I used to express my ideas, so you may want to wait until your mind is cooler and only then start complaining about the system (preferably with a couple of constructive ideas too).

It's been implemented for almost a year now. The problem with FBA is that it's not good enough for the site, since for most people it doesn't work or movies desync very often (not unlike PCSX or Mupen, but probably there are other issues I don't remember at the moment).

Hah, yeah. Next time someone makes a shitty movie tell the judges to accept it so other can obsolete it, and ask them to stop whining too. Also, that doesn't help the fact that a lot of people found this movie really boring. It's funny how this movie has 34 Yes votes and 29 non-Yes votes, and still gets accepted in a couple of days. Then you have something like Madou Monogatari I (here and here) with 22 Yes votes and only 3 No votes (1 from adelikat, probably) and he rejects it because "Sorry, but I am going against the grain here and rejecting this movie. I just don't think the game is TASvideos material."

Not at all. I only was a bit subtler with my message, but I tried to say the same... I posted a link to this movie: http://tasvideos.org/movies.cgi?id=113, which, for those who remember, Phil himself made and accepted and published, even though it is by far the worst and most boring movie on the site and it didn't even have any positive feedback before publication.
