100% tested on PCSX. Hopefully it will help somebody else in the future, though it's still buggy, like everything else in the current version of PCSX-RR.

I was never talking specifically about this patch.
Even then, I'm pretty sure there might be two billion of tiny bugs you couldn't notice or something. It's kind of silly to have a TAS exploiting bugs that not even were present in the original release...
95% of the translations for the SNES before bsnes came out, and 94% after it came out, including very recent ones (Mystic Ark?) And for the NES it might be worse, since all of them were made during the Nesticle days.... It's very easy to break support for real hardware when you're hacking a game and only testing it on an emulator.
You've probably never heard of these because people these days never actually play these old games on real hardware.
EDIT: Oh, you said emulators not real hardware... Er... I suppose everyone is still using ZSNES/Snes9x and Nesticle/FCEU. :P

Wikipedia has that story in the "Science fiction short stories" category, unlike anything from Kafka. :P
I think Borges has always been science fiction, but sci-fi has always been a bad word for "serious" writers, so they rather call him something else.

Sure it can be verified... Will anyone ever do it? No. The code of the game, for this kind of translations, is heavily modified. It's pretty much impossible to know if something besides the text routines or whatever is changed... (Unless you have a *lot* of time to waste...)
I think translation patches aren't allowed because most of them don't work when emulation becomes more accurate... And we shouldn't keep supporting buggy emulators just because of this.
Using SRAMs can be verified with another movie that generates them.
Translated ROMS have the original ROM as an alternative (verified 100% working on real hardware, etc etc), hacked ROMs don't have a real alternative, so it's a hacked ROM or nothing (unlike translated ROMs...)

I think it is already fixed, but we have to wait until everything else is finished too, since it is a pretty big rewrite of most of the code.
As to when will everything be finished, no one knows. One developer alone (zeromus) is doing all that work at this moment.

Then if watching that true end is required for your run, I'm afraid there's nothing you can do about it.
Unless you can find a workaround, you should stop now and just wait until the next version of PCSX-RR (with a new SPU) arrives. (You will need to restart the movie in that new version of PCSX-RR; that's why I recommend that you don't waste any more efforts using the current buggy version.)

Nope, my link was correct. I was still a FCEU developer when I started working on PCSX-RR, and I didn't have much faith on it, so I didn't create a new project page for it until much later. :P

I never thought I would enjoy a TAS of this game, but I *really* enjoyed this one. It looks very well played and it's highly entertaining. I give it a strong Yes vote.
(My encode has some graphical glitches because I used this plugin.)

Ah, thanks; I could watch it now. The second stage was really good. I'm looking forward to watching the rest of the game. :D
(I didn't even know you could use the internal BIOS for TASes... But it seems it only works if you use the interpreter CPU. So, for those who want to see this, in PCSX: Configuration -> Options -> CPU -> Enable Interpreter CPU.)

Yeah, this is a great game for a TAS. I recently watched a longplay on YouTube and I got very interested in doing a TAS of it myself..
Unfortunately this doesn't sync here. I've tried using the original CD and an ISO I illegally downloaded and I've also tried using the BIOS "SCPH1001.BIN" and "SCPH7001.BIN", but they all desync at the same spot... You start pressing buttons even before the intro movies end.

Nope, I was just trying to make you think.
I've had some of my on-topic discussions moved to Off topic by moderators just because they didn't like them, but they don't give a shit about you posting everywhere "Oh, I lost my virginity to my brother while we were playing this game as a kid. I hope you make a 100% TAS of it."
So, please, at least try to auto-moderate yourself. Don't do it for me or for any other member, but for the future generations that will read these threads in search of useful information.

Yes, like every other N64 game, it is a so-called "collect-a-thon game"; and it looks like Mupen can handle it very well.
Anyway, I just posted to ask Kitsune to read this:

I agree with Noob Irdoh.
It seems you go so fast that is not even funny; you can't even appreciate the beautiful tracks this way. As a PSX player, it just looks like you're using some boring high-speed cheat.
The most entertaining aspect of my TAS was, in my opinion, how much better the human player was in comparison to the CPU players. In this TAS you just go at an insane speed but there's nobody else to compare to, so who cares anyway.
But I know you don't do this for entertainment, but just because you like frame-perfectness. So keep it up, it looks great so far.

Aspect-corrected GIF animation:
You can easily see how Nintendo censored that body. They even changed her haircut, which was a bit sexually stimulating in the Genesis version.
You're just fucking stupid, everyone hates you, sorry to tell you the truth. no one likes you, you're someone pretentious and TASes only to be on speed game, but don't have any hope, you won't get there.

I'm getting those crashes too. Probably everybody is getting them; but I can't do anything to fix them. Those are present in the official version too, and its developers haven't done anything to fix them in years, so they've just been accumulating. (You can help by finding bugs in the latest official version and reporting them here: http://neosource.1emu.net/forums/index.php?topic=1366.0.)
The only thing you can do now is to try one of the older versions of FBA-RR and see if your game runs better...
And to answer your question more directly: there probably won't be a new version of FBA-RR by me for sometime, at least until things start getting a bit more stable in the official version.
