I've modified Pete's OGL plugin so it can record videos with .kkapture, in case anyone wants to record videos in high resolution. I don't specially like them, but it's the only way to prevent sites like YouTube from messing too much with the video quality.
I recorded a short TAS of Tomb Raider III at 640x480 as an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qkBhACMsQg.
Comparison:

You can download this very experimental* plugin here: gpuTASopengl-experimental-001.7z.
* (This means: don't use it for your normal TASing. It is still very buggy, is missing all features, etc. It's only supposed to be used for recording AVIs.)

@Guernsey: People is already trying to help you in this thread: http://tasvideos.org/forum/t/9297. You don't need to post that question again in this thread.

It must be something at your end, it's still working fine for me:
But you can still find those very old versions here: http://code.google.com/p/fceu/downloads/list?can=1. (Hehe, I had forgotten they used to be separate files. :P)

I can't reproduce that here. Not only it works fine here, but I don't think I've touched that code in years.
They update fine here.
Maybe scripts just don't "end" anymore. :P I think gocha changed something so you could have registered functions without needing a loop with frameadvance() inside. Maybe this is the reason they don't exit automatically anymore, or maybe the button doesn't update indeed (I'm too lazy to investigate, but if this is important somehow, please explain a possible case.)
Sounds like a good idea, I might add something like that if I have to release another version.
I already told him how to do this just with a memory card (which would be more safe: no need for savestates or scripts), but he didn't seem very interested. I also already told him that it's almost impossible that someone could fix this issue while still making his current movie sync...

It doesn't. For that, you will have to wait until zeromus finishes re-writing the SPU plugin.
And I can't help you with N-Rage, since I don't use/have it anymore.

Thanks for the report, ghost85.
It seems it's just a false positive, caused after compressing that file with upx. You may want to decompress it if it bothers you.
If I release another version, I'll remember to not use any of the compressed files again. By the way, this pcsx.exe couldn't be compressed for some reason. :P

New version (PCSX-RR v0.1.3): pcsx-rr-v013a.7z
The changelog is quite big and I'm too lazy. This version has everything gocha added to the SVN since 0.1.2 and also a lot of new minor fixes, including a desync fix. It's a very recommended update.
I also updated the readme file to add something I should have added long ago:
(If for any reason you downloaded a file called pcsx-rr-v013.7z earlier today, you should download again this new version and replace it.)

Once I made a crappy short TAS to show a glitch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcbtUjb4orc
This game probably has one of the best soundtracks in any game, but it's very long and repetitive. I also think Croc 2 might be a better choice for a TAS.

This TAS looks excellent in almost every possible aspect: technical, style, entertainment, WTF factor and good game choice. Very funny, creative and surprising, I can only give it a strong Yes.
Thanks for making this and thanks for the encode. :P

I've uploaded this to YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fod0KodxhU
This TAS probably sets a new record for the most killings in the shortest amount of time. :D
Most of the time it is so repetitive that it's actually very funny, and the non-repetitive parts are incredibly awesome, especially the last 20 or so kills. Yes vote.

I've uploaded the video to YouTube in two parts:

Most stages have individual times where one can easily compare. And, in most minigames, the computer players act faster or slower depending on how fast you are, so that's the most important factor for making the game end faster.
Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

You can use the hotkeys called "Decrease Speed" and "Increase Speed" until you get the speed that you want. Use the dialog in "Tools" -> "Map Hotkeys" to set them to whatever keys you prefer.

Oh, that sucks. I didn't know about that...
You should watch that TAS to see if you find it funny and then try to get some ideas from it. I personally find hilarious every occasion the players interact with each other.
The most entertaining part of your TAS, for me, was near the end of it when both players move across the screen in synchronization. The rest of the time they were just at the edge of the screen killing invisible enemies, which is kind of boring.

When I read it, a picture of a really good-looking person appears clearly in my head.
So... Anyway, it seems clear that this movie will be rejected, which means everyone in this thread who voted No or Meh is a bad person.
...especially Weatherton.

If you trust more a page that says it has all the answers "to make a TAS that is appealing to the audience" than a page which shows what the audience actually found appealing, then I think your problem is right there.
By the way, I know how the judging system works in this website. I still don't like it.

Hi, sgrunt. It seems you're very convinced that we should have a TAS of King's Bounty over one of Myst.
You talk as if everyone is here just because of the competition aspect of TASing. You forget that most people are here because they like entertaining movies, they don't give a shit about most of the stuff you're talking about.
You (and your friends) have said that adventure games are just "inputting the solution as quickly as possible" and that can't be entertaining, period. Well, guess what: most people thought this movie was entertaining.
It might be surprising to you to know that there are some people who don't come here just to masturbate to a 4-frame faster Mario 64 movie, but rather they come here to see games they have played before, beaten as fast as possible and without any human mistakes.
Who gives a fuck. If you didn't know there was any luck manipulation, it would bore you to death, which says something about a run which doesn't even lasts 10 seconds.
Who gives a fuck. It could require billions of billions of rerecords; you're still totally missing the point of TASes.
Who gives a fuck. Is it entertaining? No. The only people I see on that list who rated high the entertaining of that movie is the people who normally faps after looking at a rerecord count or after comparing the frame count of two runs and noticing a difference of one frame.
See answer above (hint: no one gives a fuck.)
See answer above (hint: no one gives a fuck.)
Who gives a fuck. Only 5 people out of 35 voted "No" for this movie. I would say, except for the "TASVideos team", no one else gives a fuck about your criteria of a good run.
See answer above (hint: no one gives a fuck.)

I hope you get the point.

@NitroGenesis: thanks for the encode. :)
Yes, I tried what you said in your last post and it worked on the PSX version too.
I never liked framewhoring at all, so don't expect an improved version of my movie, never. If you think a few frames or seconds or whatever can make some tracks more entertaining, feel free to make a new movie (just a suggestion: don't use the head-to-head mode, it couldn't be any more boring.) I won't cancel my movie, I still think it's good enough to entertain most people who could enjoy a TAS of this game, and that's what really matters to me.
By the way, I also think you should post your findings in the discussion thread.

Because when you're going that fast you can't turn around on time after landing from the bread bridge. Even if I would have overlooked a shortcut, I wouldn't call that "lack of optimization".
You might notice that in most tracks. That's because of the controls and also because of the nature of the game: to fix a turning (so you can have the best position, the best speed and the best lag) you have to redo most of the track again a lot of times, until you get it perfect on that curve, and good luck if that leaves you bad for the next turning. No one would ever put that insane amount of effort for this game; so, in my opinion, a run with small time differences in laps is better than a run that never would anyone make.
Yes, that's what I said on the submission comments. I think this would be the most entertaining set of levels.

I think that's accurate. I haven't tested the N64 controls frame by frame, but by playing in real time I could notice they were smoother. That's to be expected, since the PSX didn't have analog controllers yet when this game was released.
Also, the N64 graphics in those screenshots are a bit better than the real console. In reality, they should be only 320x240. PCSX can run inaccurate video plugins like that too (which blow up the resolution, add anti-aliasing, filtered textures, etc.) but I pretty much don't support them, since I think we should have graphics that look as close to real console as possible.

The last version posted on these forums works in FBA too; you only need to change the hard-coded NES controls. This is what I was using for a 4-player Sunset Riders TAS: http://pastebin.com/aSW91iZj (I had to create those joypad_get_fceu_style() functions.)
And yes, it is really awesome once you get used to it.

Hi, Weatherton, I'm not kidding you. I hope you are not kidding me.
Since I love screenshots, let this thread have a few more:
PSX:
N64:
PSX:
N64:
PSX:
N64:
The only time where the N64 might look better to some people is in-game, due to excessive filtering. And there are people (like me) who prefer low resolution textures to not be filtered.
:D I guess now you know that I wasn't just joking around when 90% of the people I put on this list were N64 fanboys. :P
Just kidding... One thing I could note in the N64 version is that it has much smoother controls. Maybe this is why you feel this isn't optimized. In the PSX version, you could only turn at rather big angles, and for that, you needed to hold the direction for a few frames; also, if you had lag in any of those frames, you were more or less fuc*ed.

I've added a link to an encode in MediaFire in the submission comments. I tried uploading to YouTube several times, but for some reason it just says "Failed (unable to convert video file)" with every format I throw at it...
@Mukki: thanks for watching. I'm glad you liked it. :)

Hi, klmz. I used this for my TAS of Micro Machines V3 and everything worked as expected. Thank you for adding PXM support.
Also, it seems that link has expired, so I uploaded it again here:
