Fantastic TAS! And you even made Mario moonwalk at 3:17 (after killing Bowser in BitFS), which is just amazing.

When I watched the movie I was afraid that it would get boring after the first level, but I was pleasantly surprised and found myself enjoying the whole thing. I think if there was one more level it would have gotten boring, but as it is, it is entertaining. If I would actually stop being lazy and post more than once a year, I would vote yes.

The point of watching a 100% run is to see hearts and skulltulas. Otherwise, you just have an any% or all temples run, both of which are on the site already (although the all temples run is pretty outdated). Furthermore, many, myself included, find GS collecting adds a lot to the run in terms of tricks and things that need to be accomplished. And if you manage them well and throw in a bunch of glitches and tricks, they actually don't take as much backtracking as you'ld think.
I completely agree with RingRush, the whole point of the 100% run IS to see the GS and HP collecting. Generally, I prefer to see 100% runs because of the added challenge of collection every item while minimizing backtracking.

New 0 Star WIP Sorry the sound is out of sync up until after the BitDW fight. I guess YouTube doesn't like me.
Excellent. I love the effort and work that is being put into this. Just a question though: Would it save any frames if you did not collect coins? That way, afterwards, when you finish the level, it would not lose time counting the collected coins.
I just wanted to say that the WIP right now looks amazing! I hope all the drama gets worked out b/c this video kicks a** and definitely deserves to be shared with the world

Wow, that was very cool. I love the new glitches, and like clip29, the bullets were awesome. I do have a question though, why did you get the mushroom? I read through the comments and didn't see anything about it in the description.

First off, I just watched the trial run of the flower cup, FREAKING AMAZING!! Comicalflop, I know that it takes a long time, and people complain (myself included a little), but the entire point of this site is tool-assisted speedruns, not tool-assisted prettyfastbutnotreallyruns, and I think you whole-heartedly embrace that concept. Keep up the amazing work! I am curious as to what WIPs are up, I looked back about 8 pages and couldn't find any of completed cups, can someone post the link or quote the post with the link? Thanks.

Love the WIP!!! Hopefully this will be finished, even w/o the new Mupen64Plus, as it will be a while before its finished. It would be nice to see a new any% Zelda. Keep up the good work!!

Wow, that run was awesome, especially BitFS. Great job, I really don't see any way of possibly improving the run. Give yourselves a pat on the back.

I am personally in favor for a cutsceneless encode, as it definitely slows the game down and, for me, would be most welcome.
But that file lets you pick cutsceneless in the splitter options, so I don't know what you're asking for. For example, if you are using the haali media splitter in Media Player Classic, right click on the haali icon in your task bar, and pick "edition 2".
Ok, it seemed I misunderstood your encode, sorry, rookie mistake. Now I see the edition 2. THANKS!!!

Ok, well I'm not happy with my encode. First of all the near clip plane shit is way more distracting than I'd hoped. Second of all, decimating 30 consecutive dupe frames makes for very weird looking pause-skipping in the cutsceneless edition (probably because the I-frames are so far apart that it's all in one GOP or something). If I make another from the same source, I would decimate max 10 and maybe shave off another 50+MB from the video. Anyway, here is the test encode (420MB), using the same sound file as raiscan's texture-mod encode. Comments/flames/opinions about cutsceneless option are welcome.
Finished watching the test encode, LOVE IT! Great job, as getting everything to sync is no easy task. I am personally in favor for a cutsceneless encode, as it definitely slows the game down and, for me, would be most welcome.

A reason to not obsolete Guano's run - It has different goals than this run. Guano's aimed to complete the game the fastest, and did so using *all of the tricks known at the time.
You forgot that Guano's run has a unique aspect (JXQommentary) which will be lost to new viewers forever when it is obsoleted. Edit: Oh, you said "A reason", not "reasons". And actually weren't trying to be exhaustive. Sorry. Edit2: For what it's worth, if I were a judge, the course of action I would take is to accept this and delay publication until Guano's is obsoleted. Because the goals are different enough from pure fastest completion to merit side-by-side publication, but this run is not different enough from the currently published fastest completion to merit side-by-side. And the TAS length is longer, so that argues against obsoletion. Just my two cents though.
I'm in favor of a third option, how about both runs get published, but a comment is put in Guano's run that many of the techniques are outdated. I seem to remember that from another run but don't remember which one. That way, it solves both problems: both runs are published and people know that Guano's is a little outdated.

There is no specific time-frame for when runs get accepted. They get accepted when a Judge makes a decision on it (or when a Judge is willing to decide)
Ok, thanks! Also, I love your avatar :D I think I laughed for about 5 min when I first saw it

I'm a bit confused by your third and fourth categories. I think a 100% and a best time run are both good, though I wonder if the next best time run will figure out a way to skip the spirit and shadow temples. But I don't know what your mean by "nonglitched any%" as that depends on what you mean by a "glitch". If you mean the no major skips category from SDA, then that is what this run is based on, but with trials added per request. Or are you asking for a purely natural, no passing through walls or superflips or seamwalking ect... type of run?
by glitched, i mean use of Bottle Adventure. that's the one thing in this game that can skip important goals. namely, beating and even entering temples. a future best time run would of course skip Shadow and Spirit. the only temple/dungeon it would complete is Ganon's Castle.
BA doesn't let you skip the Child dungeons (clipping through the DoT does), so a no-BA run could still skip them. And you could hardly say that's not an important goal. and to n/a, the trials are part of the no major skips category of SDA. So they weren't just added to it.
Ok, thanks for clearing that up. And I agree, that a fourth category using the BA might be feasible, though it will probably depend on who wants to take the time to produce another run.

i've had a change of heart about the categories for OoT. while a low% glitched and a 100% are still okay, i don't think the third category, nonglitched any%, should complete all the temples. (i still don't agree with any% being synonymous with best time.) i'd prefer to see another run that only does Shadow and Spirit, as no glitch is used to bypass the other three temples. it's just a programming oversight. and i don't think all temples can qualify as a fourth category. while my Yes still stands, i'm not sure if this run should be published and/or if the current run should be taken down.

I have been using this site for about 3 years but never posted before, however I thought I could add to the discussion about the goals. I think the best way to define "all temples/dungeons" would be dungeons which have a boss which drops a heart piece and transports you out of the dungeon. The "all trials" goal is an additional goal, and one could make the argument that since you are transported out of the trial, there is a definitive completion point. There can still be three distinct categories: any% (can use the RBA to skip all dungeons), all temples/dungeons/trials (this run), and a 100% (same standards as SDA). I personally think there can be unique entertainment value in all three categories.
